Class A North

No. 3 Red Bank Catholic 2, No. 2 Howell 1

Senior Keagan Houlihan broke a 1-1 tie with 14:48 left to lift RBC (1-0, 1-0) over division rival Howell (0-1, 0-1), in a battle of two top ten teams. Mia Cupo gave the Caseys the lead in the 13th minute with a shot from 25 yards away. Senior Heidi Wierman made several diving saves throughout the game to give RBC the victory.

Senior Makenzie Memmolo scored the equalizer late in the first half for the Rebels.

No. 9 Rumson-Fair Haven 2,  No. 5 Trinity Hall 1

The reigning SSI Player of the Year wasted no time picking up where she left off last season. Senior Jordyn Sullivan scored both goals for Rumson (1-0, 1-0) in the second half to beat Trinity Hall (0-1, 0-1) 2-1 in their first game of the season.

Senior Kailyn Fitzgerald scored in the first half for the Monarchs to put them up 1-0.

No. 8 Middletown South 4, Manalapan 0

Junior Riley Kapler scored a brace and sophomore Kennedy Russell had two assists in Middletown South’s (1-0, 1-0) 4-0 win home against Manalapan (0-1, 0-1). Senior Haley Jamison added a goal and an assist for the Eagles.

Class A Central

No. 10 Middletown North 4, Raritan 3

Trailing 3-1 at halftime, Middletown North (1-0, 1-0) scored three goals in the second half to beat division rival (0-1, 0-1) in their opening game. Senior Sofia Chaknis scored a hat trick for the Lions and Charlie Brink had a goal and an assist.

Sophomore Sienna Kelly scored two goals and Carina Szorosy added a goal for Raritan.

Wall 3,  Shore 1

Wall (1-1, 1-0) scored two second-half goals to break a 1-1 tie and beat Shore (1-1, 0-1) and win their first division game of the season. Seniors Kelsey Hallock and Megan Farrell both had a goal and assist for the Knights. Junior Angelica Arcila-Montoya made four saves to earn her first career win.

Sophomore Sydney Tilton scored her second goal of the season for the Blue Devils.

St. John Vianney 1, Marlboro 0

Junior Lily Fitzpatrick scored her third goal of the season to break a scoreless tie  in the second half and give SJV (2-0, 1-0) a1-0 victory over Marlboro (1-1, 0-1). Junior Lillie Lazzari made two saves to earn the shutout victory for the Lancers.

Senior Jordyn Bauer made 13 saves for the Mustangs.

Class A South

No. 1 Toms River South at Southern – PPD

Toms River East 7, Lacey 0

Toms River East (1-0, 1-0) scored four goals in the first half and added three in the second half to beat Lacey (0-2, 0-1) 7-0 in their division opener. Freshman Lily Gambarony scored her first two career goals and added an assist for the Raiders. Junior Brooklyn Chin and sophomore Mia Storch both added a goal and an assist for TRE. Emma Mastriano and Maddie Moore both made three saves to split the shutout.

No. 4 Central 1, No. 7 Point Boro 0

Senior Leah DiCillo scored the game’s lone goal with 5:07 left in the first half off an assist from Madeline Leppard to give Central (2-0, 1-0) the win over division rival Point Boro (0-1, 0-1). Junior Gianna Lawrence made seven saves to earn the shutout victory.

Senior Stella Stevenson made five saves to keep the Panthers within one goal.

Class B North

Ocean 4, Colts Neck 1

Senior Mia Fiorentino scored two goals and freshman Abby Salowe dished out two assists to lead Ocean (2-0, 1-0) to their first division win of the season over Colts Neck (1-1, 0-1). Sophomore Taylor Scotto made nine saves in net for the Spartans.

Junior Lilah Calhoun scored the Cougars lone goal in the first-half.

Red Bank 4, Holmdel 0

Freehold Boro 5, Monmouth 0

Senior Shea Patmore led Freehold Boro (1-1, 1-0) with two goals and sophomore Mandi Guo had two assists to help the Colonials beat Monmouth (0-1, 0-1) 5-0. Senior Makayla Koltunicki made two saves to earn the shutout victory.

Class B Central

Matawan 8,  Keyport 0

Neptune 3, Long Branch 0

Neptune (1-0, 1-0) scored two first half goals and added an insurance goal in the second half to beat Long Branch (1-1, 0-1) to earn their first division win. Junior Piper Kalfin scored a goal and had and assist to lead the Fliers. Sophomore Philippa Hlatky and freshman Juliana Edwards both scored for Neptune. Sophomore Meghan Rogers made two saves to earn the shutout.

Class B South

Point Beach 3, Manchester 3 (OT 2)

Brick Memorial 8, Barnegat 2

Brick Memorial (1-0, 1-0) scored five first half goals to beat Barnegat (0-1-1) in a Class B South match-up. Both senior Kylie McCullough and sophomore Avery Glieden scored hat tricks and Glieden also had three assists. Junior Kaylin Doyle added two goals and assist for the Mustangs. Sophomore Kayna Lavecchia made six saves to earn her first career victory.

Senior Jayla Duff scored both of Barnegat’s goals in the loss.

 

Class C South

New Egypt 1,  Pinelands 1 (OT 2)

Donovan Catholic 1, Brick 0

Sophomore Ella Forlenza broke scoreless tie in the second half to give Donovan (1-1, 1-0) their first win of the season against division opponent Brick (0-3, 0-1).  Sophomore Charlotte L’Insalata made seven saves to earn her first shutout of the season.

Junior Skye Buksar made 10 saves for the Dragons.

Non-Division

Manasquan 4, No. 6 Freehold Township 2

Manasquan (1-0) scored four goals in the second-half and three unanswered to beat No. 6 Freehold Township (0-2) 4-2 in a non-divisional game. The Warriors had four different players score with freshman Vanessa Vowteras scoring her first career goal to tie the game at one. Junior Brooke Mack scored Manasquan’s third goal in the 63rd minute to give them a 3-2 lead.

Junior Emily Ryszetnyk scored her first career goal in the first half for the Patriots to give them a 1-0. Sophomore Adele Moy put Freehold Township up 2-1 in the 55th minute with her first goal of the season.
