Freshman midfielder Zia Gould headed in a corner kick from sophomore Ella Cooke in the 11th minute for the eventual game-winning goal and junior midfielder Faith Moroney scored twice as the Jaguars (10-10-1) defeated the Cardinals (13-9) to win their first sectional title since 2010.
Cooke gave Jackson a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute by burying the rebound off a Madison Fagliarone shot that hit the post. Gould’s goal made it 2-0 and Maroney struck off another corner kick by Cooke for a 3-0 halftime lead.
Lawrence got on the board in the 58th minute on a goal by Caellyn LaFlamme on a breakaway, but the Jaguars slammed the door when Maroney scored her second goal of the game for a 4-1 lead with under four minutes left, with Gould providing the assist.
Jackson will host South Jersey champion Shawnee on Monday in the Group 3 semifinal.

Point Boro wins in penalty kicks, 4-3
Senior goalkeeper Ava Bjorndahl made two saves in the penalty kick shootout and senior back Gabby Mellet sank her shot in the fifth and final round as the Panthers outlasted the two-time defending champion Crimson Knights in an instant classic to win their first sectional title since 2015.
Bjorndahl stopped Wall’s first penalty kick and then made another save in the third round. Point Boro received penalty-kick goals from senior forward Abby Hannemann, junior midfielder Elise Viggiano and Bjorndahl to set up Mellet to clinch the sectional title on the final attempt.

After a scoreless first half, Point Boro struck first when Mellet found the loose ball off a corner kick and scored in the 55th minute. Wall answered immediately when senior Erin Farrell headed in a corner kick by senior back Erynn Richey in the 57th minute. Point Boro went ahead again when Hannemann scored on a perfectly placed shot from about 25 yards out in the 60th minute, but Wall once again found the equalizer when senior Samantha Brett one-touched a cross by junior Madison Miller inside the far post in the 68th minute, becoming the first team to score more than one goal on Point Boro all season.
The teams traded quality chances in the overtime periods before the title was settled on penalty kicks.
It was also the 200th career win for Point Boro head coach Mike Edolo.
Point Boro will host Haddonfield in the Group 2 semifinals on Monday. The Bulldawgs defeated Sterling on penalty kicks to win the South Jersey Group 2 sectional final.

Ellie Lofreno scored the game-tying goal with 24 minutes left and Gabby Kirchner scored the go-ahead goal off a corner from Katie Kirchner as the Garnet Gulls rallied to defeat the Bulldogs (18-6) and win their third straight sectional title.
Point Beach (14-6) will host South Jersey Group 1 champion Haddon Township on Monday in the semifinals.
