NJSIAA Girls Basketball Group Semifinals Scoreboard Wednesday, Mar. 12

Group 2 Semifinal

Monroe High School, Wednesday, March 12

(1) Manasquan 60, (1) Middle Township 42

A stellar 3-point shooting performance helped Manasquan pull away from Middle Twp and advance to their 2nd consecutive state championship game. The Warriors converted on 10 attempts from outside the arc. Senior Shea Donnelly scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Senior Kayden Clark added 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Senior Olivia Shaughnessy chipped in 9 points in the win for the Warriors. Junior Reagen Powell scored a team-high 14 points in the loss for the Panthers.

 

Group 3 Semifinal

Deptford High School

(1) Cherry Hill West 52, (5) Neptune 36

Neptune’s impressive run came to an end at the hands of Cherry Hill West. The Scarlet Fliers had won 11 of their last 12 games including 6 straight. The Lions did most of their damage in the paint as all of their points came from inside the arc and at the free throw line. Cherry Hill West finished 22 for 25 at the free throw line and out-rebounded Neptune 30-21. Sophomore Kirsten Gibson finished with a game-high 19 points. Senior Danielle Short added 13 points while Senior Molly Bovell chipped in 11 points on a perfect 11 for 11 at the free throw line in addition to grabbing a team-high 8 rebounds in the win for the Lions.

Freshman Tyeera Howard finished with a double-double scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Senior Christa Ramos finished her final game with 11 points in the loss for the Scarlet Fliers.
