Middletown North 4, Middletown South 3
Ryan Clark singled home winning pitcher Louis Romeo with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh and the Lions walked off with a win over the rival Eagles.
After allowing one base-runner to reach in his 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief, Romeo led off the bottom of the seventh with an infield single. Aldo Casale followed by beating out a bunt base hit to put runners on first and second with none out and Clark ended the game by smacking a single through the right sight to chase home Romeo.
Middletown North jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on RBI singles by Alipio Figueroa and James Morello. The Lions tacked on another run to the lead on a two-out error that scored Zach Hampton, who singled with one out to set up the scoring threat.
Middletown South broke up the shutout bid by Lions starter Seamus McCabe with a two-out RBI single in the top of the fourth inning and the Eagles plated two in the top of the fifth to tie the game. The Eagles loaded the bases with none out and scored on a fielder’s choice ground out by Brendan Sliva, who was also called out on the play due to base-runner interference on the play at second base. Pat Dempsey still delivered with an RBI double to tie the game, 3-3.
Romeo came on to pitch after the Dempsey double and got out of the inning with a strikeout.

Collin Denton and Bobby Davidson both went deep in the bottom of the third inning and sophomore Eddie Segarra took care of the rest on the mound, pitching his first shutout in a Falcons win over the Huskies. Denton blasted a three-run home run to open the scoring in the third and two batters later, Davidson launched his third homer of the season for a 4-0 Monmouth lead.

Rumson-Fair Haven 6, No. 4 Ocean 4
Nate Margulies doubled home a run in Rumson’s three-run first inning and blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth to key the offense in a Bulldogs win over the Spartans.
Rumson came out slugging with three extra-base hits in the bottom of the first inning, including the ground-rule double to rightfield by Margulies that gave the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead. D.J. Ylagan broke the ice with an RBI ground-rule double to leftfield and sophomore Casper Billington singled him to third. Winning pitcher Owen O’Toole plated the third run of the inning with a sacrifice fly to rightfield.
Freshman Miles Martin led off the inning with a triple to centerfield by was erased on a fielder’s choice ground out for the first out of the inning.
Ocean stormed back with three runs in the top of the third inning. Jack Kelly and Matt Richter each doubled home a run and starting pitcher Mike Martin tied the game with an RBI single to center.
O’Toole took over on the mound in the top of the fourth inning and finished the game on only 35 pitches to earn the win. He also drove in a second run with an RBI groundout in the third and Brayden Ward followed with an RBI single later in the inning to make it 5-3.
Margulies launched a towering solo homer leading off the fifth inning to stretch the Rumson lead to 6-3.

Class C North
No. 10 Raritan 6, Freehold Twp. 5
Will Meehan came through with a two-out RBI single on a full count in the top of the seventh inning to break a late-inning tie and the Rockets held on to beat the Patriots and keep pace with Holmdel in the race for the Class C North division championship.
Freehold Township tied the game in the bottom of the sixth on a pair of wild pitches with two out. In the top of the seventh, Jake Ricchuiti drew a leadoff walk and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by catcher Matt Melendez. Alan Warren then grounded out to second base to push Ricchuiti to third and Meehan punched a 3-2 offering through the right side to plate Ricchuiti.
Freshman Brendan Evernham took over for winning pitcher Sean Burnett to pitch the bottom of the seventh and recorded the first two outs on five pitches, including a strikeout. Matt Nuccio gave Freehold Township hope with a two-out single and stole second base, but Evernham fired strike three on a 3-2 pitch to end the game.
Chris Jefferson highlighted Raritan’s three-run first with a two-run single, but Freehold Township answered with three of its own in the bottom of the inning — capped by a game-tying RBI single by Christian Borromeo.
Raritan regained the lead in the top of the second on a wild pitch and Antonio Lamberti singled home a run in the top of the fourth to make it 5-3.

Holmdel 19, Red Bank 8 (6 Innings)
After a back-and-forth three innings, Holmdel struck for 12 runs over the next three while Jason Dubleski settled in on the mound to pitch the Hornets to a win over the Bucs that takes them to the last day of the Class C North division schedule with a chance to win the division championship.
Nick Rakoski broke a 7-7 tie with an RBI single in the top of the fourth and Holmdel added four more in the inning. Rob Mioduszewski also delivered an RBI single for a 9-7 lead and Jack Vallillo made it 11-7 with a two-run single. Kyle Silberman capped the fourth-inning rally with an RBI single.
Dubleski pitched the first scoreless inning of the game and catcher Matt Iulo led off the top of the fifth with a solo home run. Holmdel went on to score four more in the inning to take a 17-7 lead, with Tyler Reddy singling home a run and Mioduszewski stroking an RBI double.
Holmdel and Raritan are now tied in the Class C North standings with one game to go for each and will both play for the division championship on Tuesday, when Holmdel hosts Red Bank and Raritan hosts Freehold Township.

Jayden Harnett hit two doubles in a six-run third that got Jackson Liberty back in the game and the Lions erupted for five more in the fifth to take the lead for good in a win over a 12-win Rams team.
Hightstown answered Jackson Liberty’s six-run third inning with four in the top of the fourth to take a 9-6 lead. Winning pitcher Matt Galayda knocked a run off the Rams lead with a sacrifice fly to make it 9-7 in the bottom of the fourth and Mike Kisseberth tied the game with a two-out, two-run double in the bottom of the fifth. Jackson Liberty scored three more runs with two out in the fifth, with Galayda smacking an RBI single and Mason Ciccariello slamming a two-run double for a 12-9 lead.
Galayda steadied the game for Jackson Liberty with 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief, during which he struck out five without walking a batter.
