Jack Concordia tied the game, 1-1, with an RBI double and Sliva made it back-to-back RBI doubles to give Middletown South a 2-1 lead. Lucas Grigos later added a two-run double and both Rob Chiusano and Mike Mullane delivered RBI singles during the seven-run third. Sliva capped the rally with an RBI single as well.

Class B North
No. 5 Colts Neck 4, Ocean 2
Nick Hardy took a shutout into the seventh inning and classmate Nick Hayden recorded the final out with the tying runs on base to quiet the comeback attempt by the Spartans and secure the Cougars the outright Class B North championship — Colts Neck’s second straight division championship after winning a share of the Class A North title in 2024.
The Cougars broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the top of the fifth inning, starting with an RBI single by Miles Schneider that broke up the shutout. A two-out dropped fly ball allowed two more runs to score in the inning and Colts Neck tacked on a run in the top of the seventh when John Glusko led off the inning with a single and scored on another two-out error.
Hayden Ansell led off the Ocean seventh with a single, but Hardy responded with a strikeout and a ground ball out to move within one out of a shutout. With 108 pitches, however, he could only face one more batter and surrendered an infield single to Will Walsh that put runners on the corners when Hardy took over on the mound.
A dropped third strike kept the game going, allowed Ocean’s first run to score and brought the tying run to the plate. Catcher Connor Tongring made it 4-2 with an RBI single into rightfield and set up the Spartans with runners on the corners. Hayden, however, settled back down and induced a game-ending ground ball to seal the win and the division title.

Pinelands 4, Manchester 2
Nate Sofield led off the bottom of the sixth with a triple, which ignited a two-run inning that broke a 2-2 tie and gave the Wildcats a win over the Hawks for their first two-game winning streak of the season.
T.J. Nugent gave Pinelands the lead by beating out a bunt single that plated Sofield. Tyler Dean and Jacob Haywood followed with back-to-back singles and after Manchester prevented a run with a fielder’s choice ground out, Paul Dunn worked a bases-loaded walk to force in another run for a 4-2 Pinelands lead.
Junior left-hander Ethan Kuna finished off a complete-game by inducing a pop-out with the tying runs on the corners.

Keansburg 10, Asbury Park 9
Asbury Park tied the game in the top of the seventh on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch and was one out from pushing the game vs. the newly-crowned Class B Central champions to extra innings, but a hit-by-pitch and three straight walks with two out in the bottom of the seventh scored the winning run and helped the Titans avoid the upset.
Kevin Perez picked up the win in relief and also led the offense with a 2-for-4 day at the plate.

Red Bank 14, Matawan 5 (9 Innings)
Catcher Nick Walker hit a two-out RBI single to tie the game in the top of the seventh and the Bucs went off for nine runs in the top of the ninth to complete a come-from-behind, extra-inning, one-sided win.
Red Bank scored 12 of its 14 runs after the fifth inning, which erased a 5-2 deficit. Matawan scored four in the bottom of the fifth to take a 5-2 lead, highlighted by a two-run single by Shawn Lalevee that put the Huskies ahead, 5-2.
Graham Reppert knocked a run off the deficit with an RBI single to pull Red Bank within 5-3 in the top of the sixth and after Will Marziarz made it 5-4 with a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh, Walker dropped a single into centerfield to score Joe Henry.
Gavin Smith, Henry and Matt Huss delivered the big blows in the top of the ninth, with Smith smoking a two-run double to put the Bucs up 8-5 and Henry later rocking a two-run double of his own to make it 11-5. Matt Huss made it three two-run extra-base hits in the inning with a two-run triple for a 13-5 lead.

Manalapan 18, Freehold Twp. 12 (8 Innings)
Brandon Heller broke a 12-12 tie with a two-run single in the top of the eighth and Rob DiStefano followed with an two-run double to key a six-run rally that propelled the Braves to a wild win over the Patriots.
Manalapan also scored six runs in the top of the first inning and took a 12-5 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning. Freehold Township, however, erupted for seven runs in the sixth to tie the game, capped by a game-tying, bases-clearing double by Sonny Moore — the second double of the game for Moore and the third, fourth and fifth RBI.
The 18-run outburst was a breakthrough for Manalapan, which has struggled to score runs and lost five straight heading into Thursday’s game. Prior to Thursday, Manalapan scored six runs or more in a game just twice in 19 games this season before scoring six runs in two different innings in the win over Freehold Township.

Rumson-Fair Haven 7, No. 3 Toms River East 6
Nate Margulies capped a furious comeback by the Bulldogs with a game-winning sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning and Rumson walked off with a win over the newly-crowned, back-to-back Ocean County Tournament champions.
Rumson scored six runs in the final two innings to rally from a 6-1 deficit against Toms River East, which beat Brick Memorial Tuesday to win the Ocean County Tournament championship. D.J. Ylagan breathed life into the comeback with a two-run double to cut the Toms River East to 6-3 in the sixth and the Bulldogs drew within a run on back-to-back RBI singles by Owen O’Toole and Aiden Dill that capped the scoring in the sixth.
Brady Dill pitched two scoreless innings in relief of starter Max Hinchliffe to set the stage for the bottom of the seventh. Freshman Miles Martin started the winning rally with a leadoff double and Ylagan drew a one-out walk to put the tying and winning runs aboard. Martin raced to third on a ball in the dirt and both runners advanced on a passed ball, with Martin scoring to tie the game and Ylagan pushing into scoring position at second base.
Casper Billington then hit a ground ball to the left side of the infield and Ylagan wiggled out of a pickle to make it third base with the winning run. Margulies then ended it with a shallow pop fly that second baseman Mike Vaccarino caught in shallow rightfield — just deep enough for Ylagan to complete his eventful trip around the bases by scoring the winning run.
