Class A North
No. 5 CBA 2, No. 7 Howell 1
Ryan Wetmore slammed a two-run triple in the bottom of the fourth and left-hander Dan Pardini spun five one-hit shutout innings to lead the Colts over the Rebels in the Class A North finale for both teams.
Howell broke up the shutout bid in the top of the seventh inning, which started with a hit-by-pitch and a double by starting pitcher Jack Quinn to set up runners on second and third with none out. Declan Doogan struck out the next batter before Derek Liotti dropped a single into rightfield to score Matt Vetrano and move Quinn to third with the tying run. Doogan then ended the game by inducing a ground ball to third baseman Parker Hughes, who started an around-the-horn double play that kept the tying run off the board.

Class B South
Manasquan 7, Donovan Catholic 5
Liam Opatosky opened the scoring with an RBI single, hit two-run home runs in both the third and fourth innings and recorded the final four outs on the mound, carrying the Warriors past the Griffins to clinch a share of the Class B South championship along with fellow co-champion Toms River South.
Manasquan’s last share of first place came in 2016 and the Warriors last division championship of any kind prior to this season was a public division championship in Class A Central in 2019.
Chase Kaplan improved to 5-0 with 5 2/3 innings of work on the mound and helped his cause with a 2-for-3 day at the plate that included a sacrifice fly two batters before Opatosky hit his second home run to make it 7-2 in the top of the fourth. Kaplan also reached the 200-strikeout plateau for his career, making him the third pitcher in program history to reach the milestone.

No. 4 Ranney 5, Jackson 4
Sophomore Braden Cox blasted a go-ahead two-run home run with Ranney down to its last out in the top of the seventh and the Panthers rallied for a road win over the Jaguars thanks to four runs in their final at-bat.
Robbie Wrobel started the seventh inning with a walk and Ricky Lopez followed with a double to put a pair of runners on. Catcher Brody Garguilo roped a single to centerfield, chasing home both runners and pulling Ranney within 4-3. Shaun Wood struck out the next two batters and came back to even the count vs. Cox to 2-2 after falling behind, 2-0. Cox turned on the 2-2 offering and drilled it over the leftfield fence for a go-ahead home run.
Nico Owimrin worked around a one-out error in the seventh to finish off a three-inning win in relief.
