Playa Bowls 2026 Shore Conference Girls Soccer Week 6 Top 10

Shore Conference Girls Soccer Week 6 Rankings presented by Playa Bowls

Special thank you to Playa Bowls for presenting the Girls Soccer Top 10 rankings for the remainder of the season!

The top ten rankings continue to shift this week, with a new team entering the rankings and another taking over at the top. Injuries, national team call-ups, and upsets have made this season the most unpredictable of the last decade. Because of the factors above, this was the most difficult week of the season to rank teams.

After handing No. 1 Toms River South their first loss of the season over a week ago, Point Boro handed No. 1 St. John Vianney their first defeat of the season on Saturday. Junior Megan Viggiano scored her seventh goal of the season early in the second half, and the Panther defense held off the Lancers for a 1-0 victory. It was the fourth shutout of the season for Stella Stevenson and the Panther defense.

The Panthers opened the week with a lopsided win over Long Branch to improve to 3-0 in SCT Group 9. Junior Maddie Renna and Viggiano both scored two goals in the victory. Point Boro will travel to Freehold Township on Monday to decide who gets the top spot in the group and earn a bye in the opening round of the Shore Conference Tournament. Point Boro defeated the Patriots 2-1 last season in the SCT second round.

Point Boro locked up the Class A South co-championship with a 1-0 win over Southern. Renna scored the game-winner off an assist from Grace Tansey. Point Boro will share the division title with rival Central with a 4-1 record.

After playing Freehold Township on Monday, the Panthers travel to Jackson to play a non-division game. Point Boro beat Jackson 2-1 last season in overtime.

SJV suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday against No. 2 Point Boro. The Lancers conceded early in the second half and couldn’t get the equalizer. This was the first game junior Kennedy Wallace missed as she joined the national team training camp for the week.

Earlier in the week, the Lancers clinched a spot in the SCT with a 2-0 win over Colts Neck. SJV scored two first-half goals, with Wallace scoring one and assisting another to Gabby Parker. The Lancers currently sit in first place in SCT Group 3 with a 3-0 record.

SJV clinched at least a share of the Class A Central title with a 1-0 win over Wall. Junior Lillie Lazzari made four saves to earn the seventh shutout of the season for the Lancers. Senior Maya Pflug scored the game’s lone goal off a Wallace corner kick.

SJV will host No. 3 Central on Monday in their final SCT Group game. A win will secure a top nine seed for the Lancers, most likely earning a first-round bye in the SCT. Central defeated SJV 1-0 early last year. The Lancers follow that with a division game at Middletown North. A win will secure the Class A Central title for SJV. SJV beat Middletown North 3-2 in the last meeting back in 2024. The Lancers end the week on the road against Howell on Saturday. It is a great tune-up game for both teams heading into the postseason and could factor into the SCT seeding.

3. Central (10-1) Last Week: 4

Central improved to 2-0 in SCT Group 3 with a 6-0 win over Matawan. The Golden Eagles had six different goal scorers in the game, and freshman Annie Napolitano had two assists. Central remains one game behind SJV, whom they travel to play on Monday. A win over SJV will put the Golden Eagles in the top spot in the group under tie-breaker rules, no matter what happens in the game against Colts Neck on Friday. Senior Brianna Daly scored the game-winner last year in a 1-0 victory over SJV.

The Golden Eagles clinched the Class A South co-championship with Point Boro after beating Lacey 6-0. Junior Sophia Napolitano scored two goals and Leah DiCillo had four assists in the game. Junior Gianna Lawrence and the Central defense earned their seventh shutout of the season.

Central will host Middletown South on Wednesday in a non-divisional game. Central beat the Eagles 3-0 last season. Central ends the week and their regular season on the road against Colts Neck. It is the final game of the SCT Group for both teams. Central beat Colts Neck 2-0 in their last meeting back in 2023.

The Caseys played only one game last week after falling to Middletown South the week before. RBC beat St. Rose 4-0 to improve to 3-0 in SCT Group 7. RBC had four different goal scorers, with senior Mia Cupo having two assists in the game and Nina Bicej having a goal and an assist.

RBC will travel to Wall on Monday to see who finishes on top of the group. Wall is currently 2-0, but the winner will have the head-to-head advantage. RBC beat Wall 3-0 last year in a division game.

The Caseys follow that game with their last division game against No. 10 Freehold Township. RBC sits in first place in Class A North with a 4-1 record. A tie will guarantee the Caseys at least a share of the division title, and a win will lock up the division. RBC won 2-1 last season during the regular season over the Patriots. RBC will end the week traveling to Toms River East on Saturday in a non-division game. RBC beat TRE 2-0 last season.

Rumson started the week with a 7-1 victory over Ranney in the SCT Group stage. Jordyn Sullivan finished with four goals and two assists. Senior Ella Peoples also had two assists in the game. The win helped the Bulldogs improve to 2-0 in their group with two games to play.

The Bulldogs followed that with a 5-2 win over Toms River North in a non-divisional game. Sullivan scored a hat trick and added an assist.

Rumson ended the week with a 1-1 draw against No. 10 Freehold Township. Sullivan scored her 21st goal of the season, and Lexi Brisman made nine saves to give her 100 on her career. The draw keeps the Bulldogs on the heels of RBC.

Rumson starts the week with a SCT group game at Jackson. A win will secure the top spot in SCT Group with a 3-0 record. Rumson will have to wait until Friday when they travel to Pinelands if they fall to Jackson. The Jackson game will be Sullivan’s final game until she returns from the U17 World Cup in early November.

Rumson will host Howell on Wednesday to finish their division schedule. Rumson currently sits in second place behind RBC with a 3-1-1 record. The Bulldogs will need a win over Howell and will need help from Freehold Township to tie or beat the Caseys to earn a share of the Class A North title.

Trinity Hall started the week by handing Ocean their first loss of the season in a SCT group game. The Monarchs won 2-0 to improve to 2-0 in SCT Group 1. Sophomore Anna Noble scored a goal and assisted the other in the win.

The Monarchs followed that with a 1-1 draw with No. 8 Middletown South in a Class A North game. Senior Kailyn Fitzgerald scored the Monarchs’ lone goal in the second half to tie the game. The draw eliminated any chance for Trinity Hall to capture the division title.

Trinity Hall ended the week with a non-conference 3-0 win over Mount St. Dominic. Fitzgerald scored two goals and Bette Kane scored the third for the Monarchs. MSD was ranked No. 17 in New Jersey according to NJ Advance Media.

Trinity Hall starts the week with a SCT group game against No. 8 Toms River South. Trinity Hall won 1-0 the last time these schools met in 2023. Trinity Hall, TRS, and Ocean all have six points, with the Monarchs having two games left. The Monarchs host Manalapan on Wednesday to finish their division schedule. Manalapan beat Trinity Hall last year in the SCT Championship 3-1. The Monarchs end the week with their SCT group play on the road at Shore on Friday.

Middletown South locked up first place in SCT Group 4 with a 7-0 win over Neptune. Senior Hayley Jamison and junior Riley Kapler both scored hat tricks, and Abigail Plantamura and Addison Scarinzi both had two assists in the win.

The Eagles followed that with a 1-1 draw against division opponent No. 7 Trinity Hall. The draw eliminated any chance for Middletown South to win a share of the Class A North title. Kapler scored her 12th goal of the season in the first half for the Eagles.

Middletown South ended the week with a 1-0 loss to Old Bridge in a non-conference game. The Eagles had 12 shots on goal, but could not find the back of the net for the equalizer.

Middletown South will travel to Southern on Monday to finish their SCT group play. Southern is still fighting for a spot in the SCT, while the Eagles clinched first place. On Wednesday, Middletown South travels to No. 3 Central in a non-divisional game. The game could affect SCT seeding if Central wins their group. The Eagles end the week playing Jackson in a non-division game. The game is being played at Manchester at the first-ever Hawkamania Showcase.

Ocean enters the rankings for the first time this season after beating No. 3 Toms River South 2-1 on Saturday. Senior Cara Crouthamel scored the game-winner off an assist from Abby Salowe. Salowe leads the team with 10 assists this season.

The win moved the Spartans into second place in SCT Group 1 with a 2-1 record. Ocean fell to No. 7 Trinity Hall 2-0 earlier in the week for their first loss of the season. Ocean will host Toms River North on Saturday in their last group game. A win or a draw will secure the Spartans a spot in the SCT. If TRN beats Shore on Monday and Ocean on Saturday, it will go to goal differential.

Ocean will travel to Raritan on Monday in a non-division game. Raritan beat Ocean 5-3 last season. On Wednesday, the Spartans host Ranney in the Mya Cup. A win by the Spartans secures the Class B North title.

9. Toms River East (6-3) Last Week: 9

Toms River East started the week losing 2-1 to Freehold Boro in overtime. The Colonials clinched first place in SCT Group 2 with the win. The Raiders clinched a spot in the SCT, but still have to play Manalapan on Monday to determine if they will be seeded 9-18 or 19-27.

After losing to Freehold Boro, TRE had one of their biggest wins of the season against crosstown rival No. 3 Toms River South. The Raiders scored two first-half goals to win 3-1. Junior Brooklyn Chin scored two goals, and freshman Lily Gambarony had a goal and an assist.

TRE travels to crosstown rival Toms River North on Thursday in a non-division game. The Raiders beat the Mariners 3-1 last season. TRE will host No. 4 Red Bank Catholic on Saturday in a non-division game. The Caseys beat the Raiders 2-0 last year.

10. Toms River South (6-3) Last Week: 3

Toms River South has struggled recently after Daniella Gordon’s injury, dropping three of their last four games. The Indians lost a chance of sharing the Class A South title after they fell to crosstown rival Toms River East 3-1. Junior Samantha Fallon scored TRS’s lone goal in the loss.

The Indians followed that with a loss to Ocean in a SCT group game. After tying the game in the second half at one, TRS conceded the game-winner to hurt their chances in SCT Group 1. TRS started the week with a 2-0 win over Shore to give them six points in Group 1. Currently, there is a 3-way tie between Trinity Hall, TRS, and Ocean, but Trinity Hall has two games to play.

TRS travels to Trinity Hall on Monday to finish their group play. A win by the Indians can cause that group to be determined by goal differential, depending on what Ocean does against Toms River North later in the week. The Indians finish their division schedule on Thursday at Southern. TRS beat Southern 1-0 the last time they played in 2024. TRS will end the week playing a non-division game against Middletown North at Manchester for the Hawkamania Showcase.
