SCT Girls Basketball Second Round Scoreboard Thursday, Feb. 13

Shore Conference Tournament Second Round

(6) Howell 55, (11) Toms River East 40

Sophomore Kylee Beam’s double-double performance guided Howell past Toms River East. Beam finished with a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds while Senior Kiera McKown finished with 6 points and a team-high 15 rebounds along with 4 blocks in the victory. Senior Grace Crowley scored a team-high 10 points in the loss for the Raiders.

(3) St. Rose 66, (14) Shore Regional 29

Senior Cassidy Kruesi drained a career-high seven 3-points to finish with a team-high 23 points for St. Rose. Juniors Jada Lynch and Brooke Missry combined with seven more 3-pointers with Lynch finishing with 15 points and Missry 12 points. Senior Reese Fiore scored a team-high 16 points for Shore Regional. St. Rose will play No. 6 Howell on Saturday in the quarterfinal round at Holmdel High School.

(7) Ranney 66, (10) Point Boro 41

An explosive 2nd quarter in which Ranney outscored Point Boro 30-9 helped the Panthers of Ranney race past the Panthers of Point Boro. Sophomore Ashley Kreiger scored a game-high 19 points to go along with 11 rebounds and Senior Haley Poser added 16 points and 6 assists in the victory. Senior Vanessa Haas scored a team-high 14 points in the loss for Point Boro.

(8) Trinity Hall 46, (9) Rumson-Fair Haven 37

Trinity Hall led 12-8 after the first quarter and continued to outscore Rumson in every quarter to advance into the SCT quarterfinal round. Junior Grace Feeney scored a game-high 15 points and Whitney Hobson added 13 points for the Monarchs. Senior Sylvie Notine scored a team-high 14 points and Erin Reid added 11 points for Rumson. Trinity Hall will face top seeded Manasquan in the quarterfinal round on Saturday at Holmdel High School.

(1) Manasquan 58, (16) Colts Neck 34

Leading by one point after the first quarter, Manasquan outscored Colts Neck 13-3 in the second quarter and but the game out of reach with a 24-8 third quarter. Senior Grave Love knocked down a career-high six 3-pointers and scored a career-high 18 points for Manasquan. Senior Shea Donnelly scored 12 points and Jordyn Hollawell added 9 points for the Warriors. Freshman Julianna Jasina scored a team-high 12 points for Colts Neck. Manasquan will play No. 8 Trinity Hall on Saturday in the quarterfinal round at Holmdel High School.

(5) Red Bank Regional 46, (12) Barnegat 28

Zoe Gulley scored all of her game-high 15 points in the in the second half as RBR defeated Barnegat to advance into the SCT quarterfinals on Saturday at Holmdel. Kristen Connors had 9 of her 11 points in the first quarter to help RBR in the early going. Carolina Polloway had 8 points and 10 rebounds and Riley Joyce did a fantastic job covering Riley Fitzpatrick, holding the star guard to 6 points. Zemirah Enalls, who led Barnegat with 11 points and 12 rebounds, picked up her 4th foul late in the third quarter and immediately got a technical foul, sending her to the bench with 5 fouls. RBR will play No. 4 Red Bank Catholic in the quarterfinal round.

(4) Red Bank Catholic 87, (2) Holmdel 40

The Caseys held Holmdel to two points in the second quarter to build a 44-15 lead and sealed the game with a 33-10 third quarter. Senior Christina Liggio drained three 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 20 points and Tessa Carman added 14 points for RBC. Mackenzie Teevan scored a team-high 20 points for Holmdel. RBC will face No. 5 Red Bank Regional in the quarterfinal round on Saturday at Holmdel High School.

(2) St. John Vianney 73, (15) Neptune 44

St. John Vianney jumped out to a 21-9 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and never looked back in a win over Neptune. Junior Madison Kocis scored a game-high 20 points while Junior Stella Lockhart added a 15 point and 10 rebound double-double performance in the win for the Lancers. Senior Christa Ramos scored a team-high 13 points in the loss for the Fliers.

 

Coaches Cup Opening Round

(14) Donovan Catholic 70, Henry Hudson 21

Donovan Catholic rolled past Henry Hudson behind a 20 point and 8 steal performance from Junior Anais Friedman. Senior Hannah Kelly added 12 points while Sophomore Kaylen Wright added 11 points in the win for the Griffins. Freshman Leah Curry scored a team-high 9 points in the loss for the Admirals.

(15) Brick Memorial 37, (18) Matawan 34

Brick Memorial edged past Matawan behind a strong defensive effort to advance in the Coaches Cup. Senior Maggie Leach led a balanced scoring effort with 10 points while Olivia Emanuel added 8 points and Sophomore Maren Schneider chipped in 6 points in the win for the Mustangs.

 

Class B North

Freehold Boro 62, Asbury Park 13

Freehold Boro opened up a 26-5 1st half lead on the way to a lopsided win over Asbury Park. Sophomore Olivia Batchelor led all scorers with 13 points while Senior Sayuri Penaranda recorded a 10 point and 10 rebound double-double and Sophomore Avery Wyatt finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists in the win for the Colonials.

 

Non-Divisional

Monmouth 50, Ocean 35

Monmouth jumped out to a 16-6 lead in the first quarter and added to that in the second half to win their 7th game of the season. Senior Amaya Harris posted a double-double with 33 points and 13 rebounds for Monmouth.

Keansburg 56, Lakewood 18

Keansburg opened up a 21-5 1st quarter lead on the way to a lopsided win over Lakewood. Freshman Lilly Graham recorded a 10 point and 10 rebound double-double and Junior Gabriella Flanzbaum scored 10 points and dished out 6 assists in the win for the Titans.

 

Non-Conference

Hillsborough 73, Freehold Township 57

A 33 point performance from Senior Francesca Schiro, a Siena commit, guided Hillsborough past Freehold Township. Senior Ava Giordano scored a team-high 17 points in the loss for the Patriots.
