Senior Dan Hennessy also added 12 points and six rebounds while classmate Liam Killea chipped in eight points and three assists for Wall, which bounced back from a 13-10 deficit through one quarter to take a 25-18 lead into the second half.
Senior Connor Paul and sophomore Anthony Serini each scored 12 points and senior Jack Vallillo added 10 to lead Holmdel. Paul also pitched in six rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots and helped Holmdel pull within 27-23 in the middle of the third quarter with a sequence that included a block, a steal, an assist and a three-point play by the 6-foot-4 senior in a span of six possessions.
Wall’s lead was 31-27 late in the third when, in consecutive possessions, McKenna hit two free throws, stole the ball, drove to the rim for a basket, grabbed a defensive rebound, then found junior Navin Tu for a layup that gave the Crimson Knights a 37-27 lead.
Holmdel chopped its deficit to nine twice in the fourth quarter but each time, Hennessy delivered a three-point play to push the lead back to 12.
