Freehold Boro 8, Monmouth 3
Trailing 2-0 going into the bottom of the 5th inning, Freehold Boro (5-0, 4,-0) scored three runs and added five more in the 6th inning to beat division rival Monmouth (2-3, 1-3). Freshman Nyla Bartuck went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI’s. Junior Paige Sheridan hit her first home run of the season and drove in two runs for Freehold Boro.
Emma Riccardi led Monmouth, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and Samantha Mahoney added three singles.
Ocean 14, No. 10 St. Rose 4 (5 Innings)
Ocean (3-1, 3-1) jumped all over division rival St. Rose (4-3, 2-3), scoring four runs in both the 1st and 2nd innings on the way to a 14-4 victory. Sophomore Colleen Zdan went 3-for-4 with a home run, four runs scored and two RBI’s. Zdan also struck out four batters to earn the victory for the Spartans. Freshman Taylor Scotto also collected three hits with one of them being a home run and drove in three runs.
Freshman Morgan McGee continues to hit the ball well for St. Rose, going 3-for-3 with a home run, double and driving in four runs.
Independence
Toms River South 15, Brick Memorial 9
Junior Samantha DiNicola went 3-for-4 with a walk and three RBI’s as the Indians (2-2, 2-2) topped the Mustangs (0-5, 0-4) in a high-scoring affair. Sophomore Mikayla Lindemann was 2-for-4 with a walk and three RBI’s.
Freshman Cassandra McClain hit an RBI triple in the loss.

Non-Division
No. 7 Barnegat 4, Pinelands 1
Junior pitcher Gianna Gomez struck out 16 batters and allowed five hits as the Bengals (6-0) rallied from a 1-0 deficit with two runs in the 6th and two runs in the 6th inning and two runs in the 7th to defeat the Wildcats (1-4, 1-3). Senior Riley Schmidt went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI’s. Freshman Mikaila Wickham was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Sophomore Brielle Hartley went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the loss.
Central 10, No. 9 Raritan 7
After giving up two runs in the top of the 1st inning, Central (4-2) scored three in the bottom of the 2nd inning to take the lead and added runs in the 4th and 5th inning to win the non-division game against Raritan (3-2). Grace Ostapovich and Kayla Rasmussen hit back-to-back home runs in 5th inning for Central. Ostapovich finished with three RBI’s and Kayla Fedor drove in two runs.
Junior Holly Bellofatto drove in three runs and hit her third home run of the season for Raritan. Madison Regiec went 3-for-4 with three doubles for the Rockets.
Non-Conference
No. 2 Donovan Catholic 3, Pope John 0
Junior pitcher Gylian Hixenbaugh only allowed three hits and struck out 11 batters to lead the Griffins (4-0) to a non-conference victory over Pope John (2-3). Freshman Riley Laing went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI and Jaelynn Nunez drove in another run with a single.
No. 1 St. John Vianney 10, Pope John 0 (5 innings)
Senior pitcher Madison McDougall struck out six batters and allowed just one hit and one walk as the Lancers (4-0) routed the Lions (2-4). McDougall also hit a 2-run home run. Sophomore Lexie Csontos went 2-for-3 with a 3-run home run, a double, and six RBI’s. Freshman Olivia Haslacher was 1-for-3 with two RBI’s. Senior SS Gabby Gonzalez finished 2-for-3 with two doubles.
