Constitution

Manalapan 15, Ocean 14

Freshman Leah Garby went 2-for-5 with a home run and five RBI’s, as the Braves (10-9, 8-3) rallied from an 8-0 deficit to defeat the Spartans (10-6, 8-4) and keep the divisional race alive. Junior Sophia Miranda was 3-for-5 with three RBI’s.

Junior Ryleigh Cerco was 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, and three RBI’s in the loss.

Patriot

Henry Hudson 15, Lakewood 5 (5 Innings)

After a scoreless 1st inning, Henry Hudson’s (7-6, 7-4) bats came alive and scored four runs in each of the next three innings and scored three more in the 5th inning to beat Lakewood (3-12, 2-9). Sophomore Lucia Fariello had two hits and five RBI’s and Molly Hensle  added two hits and scored  four times for Henry Hudson.

Junior Esmeralda Martinez went 2-for-2 with a RBI for Lakewood.

Non-Division

No. 6 Colts Neck 13, Wall 1

Senior pitcher Angela Sasso recorded 10 strikeout and allowed only one hits, as the Cougars (8-8) topped the Crimson Knights (4-11). Sasso also went 3-for-5 at the plate with two doubles, four RBI’s, and two runs. Senior SS Gabriella Bryce was 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two RBI’s, and three runs. Senior C Gabriella Saveriano went 2-for-4 with two RBI’s.

Trinity Hall 8, Keansburg 1

Junior pitcher Emma Mullins struck out 21 batters and allowed only two hits and a walk, as the Monarchs (8-6) prevailed over the Titans (8-7). Mullins went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and two runs at the plate. Sophomore 2B Giuliana Ronco finished 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, two RBI’s, and a run.

No. 10 Raritan 17, Manasquan 1

Junior SS Holly Bellofatto went 3-for-4 with three RBI’s, as the Rockets (13-6) raced past the Warriors (4-12). Junior CF Madison Regiec batted 2-for-3 with three RBI’s.

Point Boro 14, Manchester 11

Tied 11-11 after seven innings, Point Boro (5-11) scored three runs in the top of the 8th to beat Manchester (9-7) in a non-conference game. Senior Cassidy Supplee went 4-for-6  with three RBI;s and hit her 4th home run of the season for the Panthers. Freshman Mackenzie Ferwerda went 5-for-6 with two doubles and hit her first home run of her career.

Sophomore Danica Rekus wenr 2-for-4 with two RBI’s and Emily Franolich went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored for Manchester.

No. 9 Holmdel 2, No. 4 Middletown South 1

Holmdel (14-3) scored two runs in the top of the 4th inning and held Middletown South (12-6) to one run to win their third straight non-divisional game. Senior Emma Vanario drove in a run and Natalie Clifford hit a double and scored for the Hornets. Senior Julia Henderson struck out five batters to earn the win.

Junior Riley Smith did not allow an earned run and held Holmdel to just two hits and struck out 12 batters in the loss. Smith also drove in the Eagles only run, scoring Ciara Sparandero who went 2-for-3.

Rumson-Fair Haven 5, Lacey 3

No. 2 Donovan Catholic 5, No. 5 Red Bank Catholic 4 (8 innings)

Trailing 4-3 going into the bottom of the 8th inning, Donovan Catholic (19-0) scored two runs to beat RBC (10-8) and remain undefeated on the season. Jaelynn Nunez led the inning off with a double and later scored on a single by Kourtney Murphy  to tie the game. Junior Mia Kelliher ended the game on a walk-off single to score Isabella Cino who walked earlier in the inning. Isabella Maria hit a triple and scored a run earlier in the game for the Griffins. Junior Gylian Hixenbaugh struck out 13 batters over six innings and Caroline Kopp earned the win in relief.

Sophomore Mackenzie Savage went 3-for-3 with a home run and double and Grace Lombardi went 2-for-4 with a home run.

Howell 6, St. Rose 0

Freshman Gianna Lisi only allowed two hits and struck out seven batters in a shutout victory against St. Rose (7-11). Sophomore Katelyn Murphy went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Hannah Bowers went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI’s for Howell (7-9) at the plate.

Matawan 10, Point Beach 8

Non-Conference

New Egypt 16, Bishop Eustace 4

New Egypt (10-8) bats exploded for 16 runs on 19 hits to beat Bishop Eustace (3-14) in a non-conference game. Freshman Samantha Garcia went 4-for-4 with a double and five RBI’s and Elizabeth Potts went 3-for-4 with three runs scored for the Warriors. Olivia Stillwell and Grace Seraphin both had three hits, with a double each and two runs scored.

Southern 14, Ocean City 4 (6 innings)

No. 1 St. John Vianney 18, St. Joseph by the Sea (NY) 0 (5 Innings)

St. John Vianney (18-0) scored in every inning to remain undefeated. Madison McDougall only allowed on hit and struck out 12 batters to pitch her 12th shutout of the season. Junior Brynn Utter went 3-for-3 with four runs scored and four RBI’s. Utter hit her 6th home run of the season and added a double to her stats. McDougall went 3-for-4 with two doubles and drove in three runs for the Lancers. Senior Gabby Gonzalez hit her 8th home run of the season and drove in four runs for SJV.
