Freedom

Central 12, Jackson 2

Sophomore Kayla Rasmussen crushed two home runs, and junior Grace Ostapovich smashed another, as the Golden Eagles (8-6, 3-5) prevailed over the Jaguars (6-6, 4-5). Rasmussen batted 3-for-4 with a walk and three RBI’s in addition to the home runs. Ostapovich was 2-for-5 with the home run, a double, and four RBI’s. Senior Leah Bollettino finished 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI’s. Senior Makenzie Lowden hit a 2-RBI single. Sophomore pitcher Hailey Craddock struck out two batters and allowed three hits and two walks in four innings, as she earned the win. Freshman pitcher Bailee Flora recorded three strikeouts and allowed two hits in three innings of relief.

Junior Summer Hunter belted a home run in the loss. Junior Madison Jefferson hit an RBI single.

No. 2 Donovan Catholic at Point Boro- PPD 4/28

Independence

No. 10 Toms River East 8, New Egypt 3

Toms River East (9-2, 7-2) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning and added two runs in the 5th and 6th innings to defeat division opponent New Egypt (5-7, 3-6). Sophomore Maya Ballaccomo went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI’s and Cameron Carr had three hits and scored three times for the Raiders. Junior Kylie Paladino pitched six innings to earn the win for East.

No. 7 Barnegat at Point Beach- PPD

Brick Memorial 12, Toms River South 10

The Mustangs (4-8, 3-6) rallied from a 9-4 deficit with four runs in the top of the 6th and 7th innings to defeat the Indians (6-8, 4-5). Junior pitcher Avery Nalducci batted 4-for-5 with two doubles, four RBI’s, and two runs. Junior CF Emma Naples went 4-for-4 with a double, two RBI’s, and two runs. Sophomore C Samantha Soll was 2-for-5 with two RBI’s.

Sophomore SS Ella Fischer batted 2-for-3 with a home run, two walks, two RBI’s, and three runs in the loss.

Liberty

Trinity Hall 9, Lacey 1

Junior pitcher Emma Mullins fanned 15 batters and allowed only two hits and a walk, as the Monarchs (4-4, 3-3) topped the Lions (3-10, 3-4). Senior 2B Elizabeth Romer went 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, and three runs. Sophomore Giuliana Ronco recorded three RBI’s. Sophomore SS Riley Tamashunas was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Sophomore RF Ann Sherman hit an RBI single.

Red Bank 6, Rumson-Fair Haven 5

Senior Brooke Gasperino went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs, as the Bucs (2-8, 1-7) edged the Bulldogs (0-4, 0-4). Sophomore C Eleanor Richards was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two RBI’s. Senior RF Caitlin McCarthy hit an RBI single.

Freshman Keira McNeil went 2-for-4 with two RBI’s in the loss. Sophomore CF Riley Berry hit a 2-RBI single. Freshman 2B Hunter Parsons hit a double.

Manchester 13, Toms River North 0 (5 Innings)

Freshman Isabella Cellini-Winters went a perfect 4-for-4 with a triple, two doubles, two RBI’s, and two runs, as the Hawks (8-4, 6-2) cruised past the Mariners (7-4, 7-1). Senior Gabriella Minneci was 2-for-4 with a triple, a double, two RBI’s, and two runs. Senior Emily Franolich finished 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, and two RBI’s. Junior Kassandra O’Neill doubled with two RBI’s. Minneci allowed six hits and a walk in the shutout.

Patriot

Lakewood 19, Long Branch 9 (6 innings)

Sophomore Genai Crudup had two hits with a triple, a double, a walk, five RBI’s, and four runs, as the Piners (2-9, 1-7) topped the Green Wave (1-9, 1-8). Sophomore Nathaly Izaguirre singled and walked with four RBI’s. Senior Gisell Nieves had two singles, two walks, and two RBI’s. Sophomore Celine Castro finished with two doubles, a single, four runs, and six stolen bases.

Non-Division

Howell 13, Manalapan 3

Senior Alyssa Morales went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and three RBI’s, as the Rebels (5-6) routed the Braves (6-8). Senior 1B Madison Winemiller was 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two RBI’s. Junior Nicolette Caronia finished 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI’s. Freshman pitcher Gianna Lisi struck out 11 batters and allowed four hits and two walks.

No. 9 Raritan 17, Monmouth 1 (4 Innings)

Raritan (10-4, 6-2) had their bats going, putting up 24 hits against division opponent Monmouth (3-12, 1-9). Sophomore Lila Houlihan went 3-for-4 with a home run, double and two RBI’s and Madison Regiec added three hits and four runs scored. Brielle Brosonski went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI’s for the Rockets. Sophomore Katelyn Ruta struck out six batters over four innings to earn the win. Ruta also had two hits and scored three times for the Rockets as they stay within one game of Holmdel.

Non-Conference

Matawan 4, Old Bridge 3 (10 innings)

Junior DP Emily Daly hit a walk off single in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Huskies (7-4) over the Knights (3-10). Matawan trailed 3-2 heading into the final inning when senior pitcher Emma Kriegstein hit a line drive single to right field to score senior 3B Stephanie Meek who started on second base due to the international tie-breaker rule.

Kriegstein batted 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs in addition to recording 14 strikeouts and allowing six hits and six walks in the 10-inning game. Freshman SS Alexis Wilk went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, and two RBI’s.

No. 8 Holmdel 8, Colonia 0

Senior Julia Henderson did it at the plate and in the circle for Holmdel (10-1) in a dominant non-conference win over Colonia (6-8). Henderson struck out 12 batters in a shutout victory, her 4th shutout of the season. Henderson went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and four RBI’s for the Hornets. Emma Vanario and Olivia Frontera both had two hits and a run batted in for Holmdel.

Highland Park 15, Keansburg 10

No. 1 St. John Vianney 10,  Allentown 4

After scoring one run in the top of the 1st inning, St. John Vianney (14-0) started to break the game open in the 4th inning, scoring nine runs in the last four innings to beat Allentown (14-5) in a non-conference game. Senior Gabby Gonzalez hit her 4th home run of the season and drove in two runs and Olivia Lombardi hit her first home run of the season for the Lancers. Madison McDougall drove in four runs at the plate and struck out 12 batters over six innings to earn the win for SJV.
