No. 6 Colts Neck 4, No. 4 Middletown South 3

Senior pitcher Angela Sasso smoked a walk-off 2-run home run to right field with two outs in the bottom of the 7th inning to lead the Cougars (6-8, 4-6) past the Eagles (10-5, 6-4). Senior SS Gabriella Bryce kept Colts Neck alive with a 2-out single, setting the stage for Sasso’s heroics. Senior 1B Gabriella Saveriano hit a 2-RBI single to cut the deficit to one in the bottom of the 6th inning. Sasso struck out three batters and allowed five hits and a walk.

Freshman RF Chloe Testa hit an RBI triple in the loss. Sophomore LF Quinnlynn Heaney and junior CF Mia Collins also hit an RBI.

Junior pitcher Riley Smith recorded her 500th career strikeout for the Eagles.

No. 1 St. John Vianney 7, No. 3 Marlboro 5

Senior pitcher Madison McDougall went 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI’s, as the Lancers (17-0, 10-0) rallied from a 5-4 deficit with two runs in the 4th inning and another in the 5th to defeat the Mustangs (11-4, 6-4) and finish the division race unbeaten. Freshman 1B Molly Plath hit an RBI single. Senior SS Gabby Gonzalez finished 2-for-4 with a double and a run.

Junior catcher Reese Grinberg went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI’s in the loss. Senior SS Emily Gaudio, who was not at her usual position in the circle, went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Junior 1B Ashlee Chen hit an RBI single.

Colonial

No. 10 Raritan 12, Matawan 6

Junior SS Holly Bellofatto went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, four RBI’s, and three run, as the Rockets (12-4, 7-2) prevailed over the Huskies (8-6, 5-4). Sophomore LF Brielle Brosonski crushed a 3-run home run. Sophomore 1B Lila Houlihan was 4-for-5 with two RBI’s.

Raritan’s victory puts them in position to clinch a share of the Colonial Division title if they can defeat Wall due to Holmdel’s loss to Freehold Township.

Freehold Township 7, No. 9 Holmdel 1

Junior pitcher Kiana DeMonte struck out nine batters, as the Patriots (5-6, 4-6) spoiled the Hornets’ (11-3, 8-2) bid to clinch the outright division title. Freshman Taegan Stone was 2-for-4 with four RBI’s. Freshman 3B Madeline Musante batted 2-for-3 with two RBI’s.

Senior CF Delaney Save had an RBI single in the loss. The Hornets have clinched a share of the Colonial Division title, but now need Wall to defeat Raritan in their final division game in order to clinch the Colonial Division title outright.

Patriot

Keyport 20, Long Branch 9 (5 innings)

Senior 2B Ava Mitchell went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBI’s, and four runs, as the Red Raiders (7-6, 6-5) topped the Green Wave (1-12, 1-10). Freshman 1B Madison Ortiz was 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two RBI’s, and three runs.

Non-Division

Lacey 14, Lakewood 4 (6 innings)

Junior CF Kylie Crane went 3-for-3 with two walks, two RBI’s, and two runs, as the Lions (5-10) defeated the Piners (3-11). Freshman 1B Leah Simonson had a single and two RBI’s. Sophomore Jailyn Farris batted 1-for-1 with three walks, an RBI, and three runs. Freshman pitcher Marley Lombardi recorded 11 strikeouts in the win.

Sophomore pitcher Celine Castro went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI’s, and a run in the loss. Sophomore 2B Nathaly Izaguirre hit an RBI single.

No. 8 Toms River East 7, Central 5

Junior pitcher Kylie Paladino smashed a grand slam to left field to lift the Raiders (13-2) over the Golden Eagles (9-6). Senior LF Addison Gallagher went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Freshman SS/P Brianna DeLima was 3-for-4 with a run and struck out three batters in relief.

Manalapan 9, Brick Memorial 3

Freshman Leah Garby went 1-for-3 with a triple, a walk, an RBI, and two runs, as the Braves (9-8) topped the Mustangs (4-11). Mia Miladinov hit a 2-RBI single.

Wall 15, Manasquan 6

Sophomore LF Eloise Plevier went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI’s, as the Crimson Knights (4-10) trounced the rival Warriors (4-9). Sophomore CF Ladai Velazquez was 1-3 with a triple, two walks, and two RBI’s. Sophomore catcher Mackenzie Williams batted 2-for-4 with two RBI’s.

Ocean 21, Trinity Hall 2 (4 innings)

Sophomore pitcher Colleen Zdan struck out eight batters and allowed only four hits and a walk, as the Spartans (10-3) routed the Monarchs (5-6). Zdan batted 1-for-2 with a triple, two walks, three RBI’s, and two runs. Senior DP Joselyne Vargas was 1-for-1 with three walks, two RBI’s, and three runs.

No. 7 Barnegat 10, Toms River North 0 (5 innings)

Junior pitcher Gianna Gomez recorded 14 strikeouts and allowed only one hit, as the Bengals (15-1) cruised past the Mariners (8-7). Senior LF Eva Watts went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBI’s, and two runs. Junior 1B Gianna Skwirut was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI’s. Freshman 3B Makaila Wickham batted 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs. Senior CF Brianna Dato finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run. Senior C Jadeyn Bodziak was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Gomez batted 2-for-3 with a double and two runs.

Point Boro 17, Brick 1

Shore 7, Point Beach 4

Junior LF Aydan Kampf went 2-for-4 with a home run, as the Blue Devils (10-4) prevailed over the Garnet Gulls (4-12). Junior catcher Peyton Waterman was 2-for-3 with three RBI’s. Sophomore 2B Allegra Minner finished 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.

Freehold Boro 12, Red Bank 1 (5 innings)

Freshman pitcher Vanessa Karabin recorded four strikeouts and allowed only two hits, as the Colonials (11-7) raced past the Bucs (2-11). Karabin batted 4-for-4 with an RBI and three runs. Junior RF Katherine Martin was 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI’s. Freshman 1B Jackie Russo went 3-for-3 with a walk, four RBI’s, and two runs.

Toms River South 22, Monmouth 21

The Indians (8-9) blew a 12-2 lead before regaining their composure and rallying to defeat the Falcons (4-14) on a walk-off single from senior 3B Kylee Risk. Monmouth scored 13 runs in the top of the 5th inning to take a 15-12 lead. The game went back and forth all the way until the bottom of the 7th inning when the Indians trailed 21-19.

Senior CF Addison Tupper singled on a line drive to center field with one out to gain momentum. Tupper then stole second, advanced to 3rd on a passed ball, and scored on an error. Following another error, Toms River South had runners on 1st and 2nd. Sophomore 1B Mikayla Lindemann hit and RBI single to left field during which an error allowed the Indians to tie the game which set up Risk’s heroics.

Both sophomore SS Ella Fischer and Lindemann homered in the win.

Non-Conference

New Egypt 15, Glassboro 14

Senior SS Olivia Stillwell stole home on the final play of the game, to give the Warriors (7-8) the win in a wild, high-scoring affair against the Bulldogs (8-7). New Egypt trailed 14-12 going into the bottom of the 7th inning before a single from junior Caroline Potts started the rally. Following an error, Stillwell singled on a ground ball to right field to load the bases. Junior Grace Seraphin then hit a 2-RBI single to right field to tie the game. An error on the next at bat allowed Stillwell to reach third base, setting up the dramatic ending.
