No. 10 Raritan 3, Wall 1

Sophomore Katelyn Ruta only allowed three hits and struck out 11 batters to lead Raritan (14-6, 8-2) to a division win over Wall (4-12, 2-8) and finish as co-division champions with Holmdel. Raritan broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to make it 3-1. Junior Payton Fleming went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a RBI. Holly Bellofatto and Lila Houlihan each added an RBI for the Rockets.

Sophomore Essie Harr went 1-for-3 with a RBI for Wall.

Howell 9, Matawan 2

Freshman pitcher Gianna Lisi recorded eight strikeouts and allowed only three hits and a walk, as the Rebels (8-9, 3-7) topped the Huskies (10-7, 5-5). Lisi also drove in three runs for the Rebels. Sophomore SS Katelyn Murphy finished 4-for-5 with a double, two RBI’s, and two runs. Senior 1B Madison Winemiller went 1-for-1 with three walks, an RBI, and a run. Junior 2B Nicolette Caronia was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run.

Freshman Alexis Wilk went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI in the loss.

Independence

No. 7 Barnegat 17, Point Beach 0 (4 innings)

Junior pitcher Gianna Gomez struck out all 12 batters in a 4-inning perfect game, as the Bengals (17-1, 10-0) blanked the Garnet Gulls (4-14, 1-9). Gomez was also a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and two RBI’s. Freshman 3B Makaila Wickham batted 2-for-4 with a home run and six RBI’s. Senior C Jadeyn Bodziak went 2-for-3 with three RBI’s. Senior SS Riley Schmidt was 2-for-2 with two doubles, a walk, and three runs.

Non-Division

Freehold Township 6, Toms River South 3

Junior pitcher Kiana DeMonte recorded 17 strikeouts, as the Patriots (8-6) defeated the Indians (10-10). Freshman Victoria Medina went 1-for-2 with a double, 2 HBP’s, two RBI’s, and two runs. Freshman Taegan Stone was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Freshman Francesca Svoboda batted 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run. Senior Taylor Garze finished 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.

No. 1 St. John Vianney 15, St. Rose 3 (6 innings)

Senior pitcher Madison McDougall batted 3-for-3 with three home runs, two walks, and seven RBI’s, in possibly the best performance at the plate this season, as the Lancers (19-0) overpowered the Purple Roses (7-12). McDougall also recorded eight strikeouts and earned the win in three innings of action on the mound. Junior Brynn Utter went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI’s, and two runs. Junior Mia Favato batted 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI’s, and a run. Freshman Maddie Richter went 2-for-2 with two doubles and two runs. Senior Gabby Gonzalez batted 3-for-5 with two doubles and a run.

No. 2 Donovan Catholic 10, No. 3 Marlboro 3

Senior CF Isabella Maria went 2-for-3 with a grand slam to center field, a walk, and two runs, as the Griffins (20-0) defeated the Mustangs (12-6). Senior SS Caroline Kopp was 1-for-3 with a 2-run home run to center field. Freshman Kourtney Murphy batted 2-for-4 with two RBI’s and a run. Sophomore LF Julianna Vignets finished 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, an RBI, and two runs. Junior pitcher Gylian Hixenbaugh struck out seven batters and allowed five hits and a walk in five innings.

Junior SS Isabella Wuelfing went 2-for-4 with a game-opening solo home run in the loss. Freshman LF Samantha Joy was 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Senior pitcher Emily Gaudio batted 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk.

Non-Conference

Roselle Park 13, Keansburg 9

The Titans (8-8) were unable to slow down the Panthers (3-15).

Senior Gianna Cruz was 3-for-5 with four RBI’s in the loss. Freshman Kyleigh Adlar went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBI’s. Senior Gabriella Flanzbaum batted 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two RBI’s. Sophomore Celita Hernandez finished 2-for-4 with an RBI.
