Constitution

Manalapan 17, Monmouth 2 (6 innings)

Leading 3-2 after four innings, Manalapan (6-7, 5-3) scored seven runs in both the 5th and 6th inning to beat division rival Monmouth (3-9, 1-8). Julianna Cherbini went 3-for-5 with a double and five RBI’s. Senior Isabel Caputo added two hits and drove in three runs for the Braves. Leah Garby struck out eight batters to earn the win.

Sophomore Samantha Mahoney  drove in a run for Monmouth.

Freedom

No. 2 Donovan Catholic 10, Pinelands 1

Junior Isabella Cino hit her third home run of the season , driving in four runs on three hits to lead Donovan (11-0, 8-0) to a division win over Pinelands (5-8, 2-6). The win clinches the Freedom Division title for the Griffins.  Freshman Riley Laing drove in three runs on a triple. Junior Gylian Hixenbaugh struck out 11 batters to earn the win.

Senior Madison Wilbert went 2-for-3 with a RBI for Pinelands.

Jackson 12, Point Boro 8

Jackson (6-5, 4-4) scored two runs in the bottom of the 3rd and and two in the 5th to break the game open against division rival Point Boro (3-8, 2-6). Jackson scored five runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, but gave up three in the 2nd and 3rd innings to allow Point Boro to tie it 7-7.

Independence

No. 10 Toms River East 4, Brick Memorial 0

Toms River East (7-2, 6-2) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning and added a run in the 3rd inning to beat division rival Brick Memorial (3-8, 2-6). Senior Addison Gallagher went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs in the 1st inning for the Raiders. Freshman Brianna DeLima struck out 14 batters to earn the victory for East.

Junior Carly Hobbs had two of the three hits for the Mustangs and Avery Nalducci struck out seven batters.

New Egypt 13, Point Beach 6

Sophomore Caroline Davis went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, three RBI’s, and a run, as the Warriors (4-6, 3-5) defeated the Garnet Gulls. Freshman Caitlin Waddington was 3-for-4 with four RBI’s. Freshman Samantha Garcia finished 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBI’s. Junior Grace Seraphin batted 2-for-4 with two RBI’s.

No. 7 Barnegat 6, Toms River South 0

Barnegat (12-0, 8-0)broke a 0-0 tie with three runs in the bottom of the 5th and added three more in the 6th to beat Toms River South (6-6, 4-4) in a division game. Barnegat is one win away to clinching the division title. Junior Gianna Gomez pitched a no-hitter and struck out 20 batters to earn the victory. Senior Riley Schmidt went 2-for-4 with a solo home run for Barnegat. Sophomore Brooke Rizzo went 1-for-3 and scored two runs and Brianna Dato added two hits.

Liberty

Manchester 1, Trinity Hall 0 

Sophomore Kayla Meyer scored the game’s lone run in the bottom of the 4th inning on a wild pitch to give Manchester (7-4, 5-2) a division win over Trinity Hall (3-4, 2-3). Meyer started the inning off with a single and moved to 2nd base on a sacrifice bunt then stole 3rd base. Senior Gabriella Minneci struck out five batters to earn the win.

Junior Emma Mullins struck out 14 batters and did not allow a walk for Trinity Hall.

Toms River North 9, Red Bank 5

After giving up a run in the top of the 1st inning, Toms River North (7-3, 7-0) scored five runs in the bottom of the inning and added two more in the 2nd and 5th innings to beat Red Bank (1-8, 0-7) and remain undefeated in the Liberty Division. Sophomore Skylar Minniti went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI’s for the Mariners. Juniors Lena Salvaggione and Gabriella Minser-Schletto both drove in two runs. Sophomore Alexa Iovine struck out three batters over four innings to earn the win.

Junior Madison Ptak went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs for Red Bank.

Rumson-Fair Haven at Lacey – PPD

Non-Conference

No. 4 Marlboro 6, Sayreville 2

Trailing 2-1 going into the bottom of the 5th, Marlboro (8-3) scored two runs to take the lead and added three insurance runs in the 6th to win a non-conference game against Sayreville (9-1). Sophomore Samantha Gellis drove in two runs for the Mustangs. Junior Ashlee Chen went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI and Emily Gaudio had a double and RBI. Junior Isabella Wuelfing did not allow a run over five innings in relief to earn the win.
