No. 4 Middletown South 16, Middletown North 0 (4 innings)

Junior pitcher Riley Smith struck out six batters and allowed just one hit and two walks, as the Eagles (9-4, 6-3) blanked the crosstown rival Lions (5-10, 0-9). Sophomore 1B Jordyn Cowell singled with five RBI’s. Junior SS Celia Collings was 2-for-2 with a double, two walks, three RBI’s, and a run. Sophomore Quinnlynn Heaney hit a 2-RBI triple.

No. 3 Marlboro 3, No. 5 Red Bank Catholic 1 (10 innings)

An RBI single from senior pitcher Emily Gaudio in the top of the 10th inning broke a 1-1 tie, as the Mustangs (10-3, 5-3) edged the Caseys (7-5, 4-5). Gaudio recorded 12 strikeouts and allowed just three hits and one walk in addition to batting 3-for-4 with a walk and two RBI’s. Freshman Savannah Joy had an RBI triple in the top of the 10th inning to tack on an insurance run.

Sophomore pitcher Mackenna Savage hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 7th inning to force extra innings. Savage also recorded 15 strikeouts and allowed six hits and five walks.

No. 1 St. John Vianney 20, No. 6 Colts Neck 0 (4 innings)

The Lancers (14-0, 8-0) clinched the outright American Division title in style, belting seven home runs, in a lopsided win over the Cougars (5-8, 3-6). Senior pitcher Madison McDougall pitched a perfect game, striking out seven batters and allowing no baserunners. McDougall also went 3-for-3 with a walk at the plate, smashing two home runs with a total of five RBI’s and three runs. Senior SS Gabby Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with two home runs, four RBI’s, and two runs. Freshman 1B Maddie Richter was 2-for-2 with a home run, a double, a walk, four RBI’s, and three runs. Junior 3B Brynn Utter finished 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI’s, and two runs. Sophomore C Olivia Lombardi batted 2-for-4 with a solo home run.

Colonial

No. 9 Raritan 9, Howell 6

Junior Holly Bellofatto went a perfect 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, three RBI’s, and three runs, as the Rockets (11-4, 6-2) topped the Rebels (5-7, 2-7). Junior Madison Regiec was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI’s. Sophomore Katelyn Ruta finished 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Sophomore Hannah Bowers batted 1-for-2 with a home run, two walks, and three RBI’s in the loss.

No. 8 Holmdel 13, Matawan 2 (5 innings)

Freshman Isabella McGoey went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and three RBI’s, as the Hornets (11-1, 8-1) clinched no worse than a share of the division title in a win over the Huskies (7-5, 5-3). Sophomore Kylee Lau was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI’s. Senior Delaney Savage went 2-for-2 with two RBI’s.

Freehold Township 3, Wall 2

Sophomore RF Julia Calamia belted a 3-run shot to left field in the bottom of the second inning, as the Patriots (4-6, 3-6) held on the rest of the way to edge the Crimson Knights (2-10, 2-7). Sophomore 2B Marissa Barbera drew a critical 2-out walk to extend the inning. Junior pitcher Kiana DeMonte then signled to center field which set the table for Calamia. DeMonte recorded 14 strikeouts and allowed only five hits in the win.

Wall battled back in the bottom of the 7th inning behind a 2-RBI single from junior 1B Brooke Roland. Junior Hannah Morrow, pinch running for Roland, advanced all the way to 3rd base on a single from junior Kayla Pressman, but a line-out on the next at bat ended the game.

Constitution

Manalapan 6, Manasquan 1

Freshman Leah Garby went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, in addition to striking out 13 batters and allowing only three hits, as the Braves (7-8, 6-3) topped the Warriors (4-7, 4-6).

Freehold Boro 15, Monmouth 0 (4 Innings)

After scoring one run in the first inning, Freehold Boro (10-5, 7-3) scored six in the top of the 3rd and eight more in the 4th to beat Monmouth (3-12, 1-9) in a division game. Freshman Vanessa Karabin struck out four batters to earn the shutout victory. At the plate Karabin went 4-for-4 with a triple, sounle and three RBI’s to lead the Colonials. Nyla Bartuck went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI’s and Katherine Martin had a double and two RBI’s.

Ocean 10, St. Rose 0

Sophomore pitcher Colleen Zdan struck out six batters and allowed only four hits and three walks, as the Spartans (8-3, 7-3) blanked the Purple Roses (6-9, 4-7). Junior C Ryleigh Cerco batted 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two RBI’s. Senior Anna Poniros was 3-for-4 with two RBI’s. Zdan went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Freedom

No. 2 Donovan Catholic 15, Point Boro 1 (5 Innings)

Donovan (15-0, 9-0) clinched the Freedom Division title and remain undefeated with a win over Point Boro (3-9, 2-7). Freshman Kourtney Murphy struck out 9 batters and scattered five hits to earn the win. Murphy also went 2-for-2 at the plate with two runs scored. Sophomore Julianna Vignets went 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI’s for the Griffins.

Patriot

Brick 8, Keyport 4

Leading 3-2, Brick (9-3, 9-1) scored five runs in the bottom of the 6th to give Sicila Booker a cushion and beat division rival Keyport (6-5, 5-4). Booker struck out a career-high 19 batters for the Dragons to earn the win. Senior Jordan Mulhearn had a double and drove two runs in and Laney Anza scored two runs and drove a run for Brick.

Senior Ava Mitchell went 1-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored for Keyport.

Neptune 12, Long Branch 10

Neptune (4-7, 4-6) scored three runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to take a 12-6 lead and held off a rally by Long Branch (1-10, 1-9) to win the divisional battle. Freshman Olivia Forgach went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBI’s at the plate and struck out five batters to earn the victory for Neptune. Sophomore Kameira Johnson had three hits and three RBI’s and Sophia Forgach drove in two more runs for Neptune.

Freshman Alana Blount went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI’s and Emily Rodriguez drove in two runs and scored two runs for Long Branch.

Keansburg 13, Lakewood 12

In a back-and-forth battle, Keansburg (7-4, 7-3) broke a 12-12 with a walk-off to beat Lakewood (2-10, 1-8) in a divisional game. Freshman Taylor Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI’s amd Jabnelyz Crespo-Borges scored two runs and drove in two runs for Keansburg. Sophomore Arielle Buchanan also drove in three runs for the Titans and drew two walks.

Junior Esmeralda Martinez went 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs scored and Genai Crudup had a double and two RBI’s for Lakewood.

Non-Division

Shore 8, Toms River North 1

Trailing 1-0 going into the 5th inning, Shore (9-4) scored seven runs in the bottom of the 5th to beat Toms River North (7-5) in a non-divisional game. Senior Dylann Lawrence only allowed one run in five innings to earn the win. Junior Kelsey Orth went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI’s and Mary Hennelly went 2-for-4 with a double and RBI for Shore.

Senior Dalyia Lyon drove in the only TRN run on a double.

Non-Conference

South River 5, Henry Hudson 3

South River (14-3) scored four runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to break a 1-1 tie and beat Henry Hudson (6-4) in a non-conference game. Senior Marishka Evelich went 2-for-4 with a run scored and Lea Curry went 2-for-3 for Henry Hudson.
