Central Jersey Group 4

Sophomore pitcher Christina Lee recorded six strikeouts, as the Bears (18-9) blanked the Patriots (9-10).

Junior pitcher Kiana DeMonte struck out eight batters in the loss. Freshmen Rylie Moore and Francesca Svoboda each registered a single.

(6) Hunterdon Central 11, (11) Jackson 0

Junior pitcher Rylie Cooke struck out five batters, as the Red Devils (14-12) blanked the Jaguars (10-10).

Sophomore Tara Steppat went 2-for-3 in the loss.

(10) Manalapan 12, (7) Montgomery 1 (6 innings)

Freshman pitcher Leah Garby recorded seven strikeouts and allowed only three hits, as the Braves (12-12) knocked off the Cougars (12-11). Senior RF Nicole Cammarata registered a hit and three RBI’s. Freshman Stella Hegel was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI’s, and three runs. Garby batted 2-for-3 with two doubles. Junior LF Alexa Shaffer finished 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBI’s. Junior 1B Sophia Scafuri went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.

Manalapan will travel to (2) Sayreville in the quarterfinals.

(3) Marlboro 15, (14) North Brunswick 1 (5 innings)

Senior pitcher Emily Gaudio struck out five batters and allowed only one hit and two walks in four innings on the mound, as the Mustangs (17-7) dominated the Raiders (9-14). Gaudio batted 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, and four RBI’s. Junior 1B Ashlee Chen went 2-for-3 with four RBI’s. Junior SS Isabella Wuelfing was 2-for-2 with two triples, two walks, three RBI’s, and four runs, in addition to allowing no base runners in one inning on the mound.

Marlboro will host (6) Hunterdon Central in the quarterfinals.

South Jersey Group 4

(4) Southern 4, (13) Lenape 3

Junior pitcher Brooke Sutter struck out four batters and allowed four hits and two walks, as the Rams (14-9) edged the Indians (9-15). Senior Kendra Perrini went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Senior Kaedyn Lipowski was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Junior Samantha Jillson registered an RBI. Junior Madilyn Duralek scored two runs.

Southern will host (5) Rancocas Valley in the quarterfinals.

(7) Central 11, (10) Howell 6

Trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the 3rd inning with two outs, Central (15-8) scored seven runs to take a 9-4 lead and hold on to beat Howell (11-11) and advance in the SJG4 sectional. Junior Kayla Fedor went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI’s and Annarose Torres had two doubles and drove three runs in to lead Central. Sophomore Hailey Craddock settled down after the first inning, striking out two batters to earn the win.

Junior Nicolette Caronia drove in three runs in the top of the first inning on a line drive double to put Howell up 4-0.

Central will travel to play (2) Cherokee in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

(2) Cherokee 10, (15) Toms River North 0 (5 innings)

Senior pitcher Cali Taylor recorded 12 strikeouts in a perfect game as the Chiefs (19-4) eliminated the Mariners (10-12).

Central Jersey Group 3

(3) Middletown South 10, (14) Moorestown 0 (5 innings)

Junior pitcher Riley Smith struck out nine batters and allowed only one hit, as the Eagles (16-7) cruised past the Quakers (6-18). Junior Mia Collins recorded a hit and three RBI’s. Sophomore Jordyn Cowell went 2-for-3 with a home run. Sophomore Quinnlynn Heaney batted 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, and two RBI’s. Freshman Annie Wilson was 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBI’s. Smith batted 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Middletown South will host rival (6) Middletown North in the quarterfinals.

(4) Colts Neck 10, (13) Westampton Tech 0 (5 innings)

Senior pitcher Angela Sasso returned from injury to pitch a perfect game with 12 strikeouts, in addition to batting 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, a walk, and three runs, as the Cougars (12-9) blanked the Panthers (8-13). Senior SS Gabriella Bryce went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI, and two runs. Senior Gabriella Saveriano was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Freshman Autumn Helms was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Colts Neck will host the winner of (5) Freehold Boro and (12) Ewing in the quarterfinals.

(6) Middletown North 10, (11) Brick 0 (5 innings)

Junior pitcher Grace English recorded seven strikeouts and allowed only two hits and three walks in four innings, while sophomore pitcher Aubrey Borchers recorded three strikeouts in one inning of relief, as the Lions (12-13) blanked the Dragons (12-8). Sophomore Abby Esposito went 2-for-2 with a home run, three RBI’s, and three runs.

The Lions will travel to rival (3) Middletown South in the quarterfinals.

(10) Brick Memorial 3, (7) Matawan 2

Junior pitcher Avery Nalducci recorded 10 strikeouts and allowed only two hits and four walks, as the Mustangs (9-13) prevailed over the Huskies (12-11). Junior SS Carly Hobbs went 4-for-4 with a run. Junior CF Emma Naples was 1-for-2 with two RBI’s. Nalducci recorded an RBI and scored a run. Sophomore 2B Jocelyn Melendez recorded two walks and scored a run.

Junior C Elyssa Jamandron crushed a two-run home run to right field in the loss.

Brick Memorial will travel to (2) Northern Burlington in the quarterfinals.

South Jersey Group 3

(6) Toms River East 3, (11) Absegami 0

Freshman pitcher Brianna DeLima struck out four batters and allowed only four hits and a walk, as the Raiders (14-7) blanked the Braves (9-16). Sophomore Alexa DeMarco went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI’s. Senior Addison Gallagher was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run. Junior Kelly Forrester batted 2-for-4 with a run.

Toms River East will travel to (3) Clearview in the quarterfinals.

(7) Triton 10, (10) Toms River South 0 (6 innings)

Sophomore pitcher Ava Scuderi struck out four batters and allowed only 3 hits and two walks, as the Mustangs (17-7) eliminated the Indians (11-14).

Senior Addison Tupper, junior Samantha DiNicola, and sophomore Ella Fischer each recorded a hit in the loss.

(8) Timber Creek 6, (9) Pinelands 0

Sophomore pitcher Joselyn Bermudez recorded 17 strikeouts and allowed only three hits, as the Chargers (14-7) eliminated the Wildcats (11-15).

Senior CF Jozlyn Peterson went 2-for-3 with a double in the loss. Junior 2B Cassie Gould recorded a single.

Central Jersey Group 2

(2) A.L. Johnson 3, (15) Wall 2

Junior pitcher Cassie Conforti struck out seven batters and allowed four hits and a walk, as the Crusaders (23-3) avoided a near-upset against the Crimson Knights (5-14).

Sophomore C Mackenzie Williams went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the loss. Sophomore CF Ladai Velasquez was 1-for-3 with a run. Junior RF Addison Lawrence walked and scored a run. Sophomore pitcher Amanda Regan battled and recorded five strikeouts.

(3) Delran 15, (14) Manasquan 0 (4 innings)

Sophomore pitcher Mary Masterson recorded six strikeouts in a four inning perfect game, as the Bears (20-8) overwhelmed the Warriors (4-16).

(4) Delaware Valley 11, (13) Point Boro 0

Senior pitcher Taylor Aycock struck out 10 batters and allowed only three hits as the Terriers (22-3) eliminated the Panthers (8-12).

Junior Jadyn Clayton batted 2-for-2, while junior Arden Schatzman doubled in the loss.

(5) Raritan 7, (12) Ocean 5

Sophomore pitcher Lila Houlihan batted 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and two runs, as the Rockets (20-7) held off a stingy effort from the Spartans (11-11). Houlihan grinded out the win on the mound, recording five strikeouts and allowing six hits and six walks. Junior CF Madison Regiec went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs. Sophomore 3B Chloe Mancuso was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Sophomore RF Katelyn Ruta went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Junior LF Payton Fleming walked and recorded an RBI.

Freshman SS Taylor Scotto went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in the loss. Sophomore pitcher Colleen Zdan batted 2-for-4 with two RBI’s. Junior Nathalie Staten was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, and a run. Junior Ryleigh Cerco finished 2-for-4 with a double and a run.

Raritan will travel to (4) Delaware Valley in the quarterfinals.

(11) Bordentown 5, (6) Holmdel 1

Junior pitcher Brianna Gallo recorded six strikeouts and allowed only three hits and two walks, as the Scotties (12-11) eliminated the Hornets (15-6).

Sophomore 2B Kylee Lau went 1-for-2 with an RBI in the loss. Sophomore LF Olivia Frontera was 1-for-3 with a run.

South Jersey Group 2

(2) Barnegat 14, (5) Overbrook 0 (5 innings)

Junior pitcher Gianna Gomez recorded 13 strikeouts, in a five-inning no-hitter, as the Bengals (20-2) trounced the Rams (10-14). Gomez recorded no walks, but missed a perfect game due to a hit batter. She also batted 1-for-2 with a home run and a walk. Senior Riley Schmidt went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk, and four RBI’s. Junior Gianna Skwirut was 3-for-3 with a triple, three RBI’s, and three runs. Senior Jadeyn Bodziak finished 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI’s. Senior Brianna Dato went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI’s, finishing the game with her 100th career hit.

Barnegat will host (7) Medford Tech in the quarterfinals.

(4) Cedar Creek 15, Manchester 0 (4 innings)

Senior pitcher Kailey Askins recorded two strikeouts and allowed three hits and three walks, as the Pirates (17-8) eliminated the Hawks (9-12).

Junior Kassandra O’Neill doubled in the loss. Freshman Isabella Cellini-Winters went 1-for-1 with a walk. Sophomore Christine Flanagan was 1-for-2.

Central Jersey Group 1

(1) Shore 20, (16) Manville 1 (4 innings)

Freshman Kayla Delia batted 2-for-2 with two home runs, a walk, and six RBI’s, as the Blue Devils (18-6) throttled the Mustangs (3-17). Senior pitcher Dylann Lawrence recorded four strikeouts and allowed four hits and a walk, in addition to batting 3-for-3 with four RBI’s and three runs. Junior Ayden Kampf was 3-for-4 with two doubles, four RBI’s, and two runs. Senior Olivia DeFonce finished 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk, two RBI’s, and three runs. Senior Daniele Radisch went 2-for-2 with a double, two RBI’s, and two runs.

Shore will host (9) Florence in the quarterfinals.

(2) Dunellen 20, (15) Keyport 9 (5 innings)

The Destroyers (17-9) rallied from a 9-1 deficit after the top of the 2nd inning to eliminate the Red Raiders (7-11).

Junior SS Madelyn Pinto recorded two RBI’s and a run. Freshman RF Summer Ferm was 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, and a run. Senior pitcher Nicolette Sickles batted 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and a run.

(3) South Hunterdon 14, (14) Henry Hudson 2 (5 innings)

Junior pitcher Elsie Scheetz recorded seven strikeouts and allowed only three hits and a walk, as the Eagles (17-8) eliminated the Admirals (9-8).

Sophomore pitcher Lucia Fariello batted 2-for-3 with a double in the loss. Senior 1B Alex Belusko was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Senior Aurora O’Neill went 1-for-2 and scored two runs.

(5) New Egypt 12, (12) Roselle Park 0 (5 innings)

Tied 2-2 after two innings, New Egypt (14-10) exploded for 14 runs over the last three innings to beat North Plainfield (16-10) and advance into the quarterfinal round of CJG1. Sophomore Kylie White did not allow an earned run and struck out nine batters to earn the victory. Junior Grace Seraphin went 3-for-3 with two home runs and five RBI’s. Sophomore Caroline Davis went 3-for-4 scoring three runs and was a home run shy of the cycle.

New Egypt will play the winner of the (4) Highland Park and (13) Keansburg that was rescheduled for tomorrow.

(6) Middlesex 11, (11) Point Beach 1 (5 innings)

Junior pitcher Kylie Vitelli recorded a strikeout and allowed only three hits and two walks, as the Blue Jays (13-11) eliminated the Garnet Gulls (5-17).

Freshman Brynn Rusbarsky was 1-for-3 with an RBI in the loss. Senior Bridget Kane went 1-for-3 with a run.

Non-Conference

No. 1 St. John Vianney 7, DePaul 0

Senior pitcher Madison McDougall struck out 13 batters and allowed only one hit and one walk, becoming only the 27th player in New Jersey history to record 1,000 career strikeouts, as the Lancers (26-0) blanked the Spartans (17-8). Sophomore catcher Olivia Lombardi went 3-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI’s. Junior Mia Favato was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, and two RBI’s. Senior SS Gabby Gonzalez hit a solo home run.

No. 5 Red Bank Catholic 6, Morris Catholic 1

Sophomore pitcher Mackenna Savage recorded 11 strikeouts and allowed only five hits, in addition to batting 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, a walk, and three RBI’s, as the Caseys (14-10) topped the Crusaders (17-10). Senior C Jayden Kane went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, and two RBI’s. Junior SS Grace Lombardi hit a solo home run, finishing the game with 100 career hits. Junior Grace Grimaldi batted 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.
