(2) St. John Vianney 11, (3) Red Bank Catholic 0 (5 innings)

Senior pitcher Madison McDougall recorded 12 strikeouts and allowed only three hits and a walk, as the Lancers (28-0) blanked the Caseys (15-11). McDougall batted a perfect 4-for-4 with two home runs, seven RBI’s, and three runs. Freshman RF Peyton McDougall went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs. Freshman Olivia Haslacher was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run. Junior 3B Brynn Utter finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and three runs. Sophomore catcher Olivia Lombardi went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run.

Sophomore pitcher Mackenna Savage batted 1-for-1 with a triple and a walk in the loss. Junior SS Grace Lombardi went 1-for-2.

St. John Vianney will travel to (1) Donovan Catholic in the sectional final later this week.

Red Bank Catholic graduates two impact seniors in catcher Jayden Kane and outfielder Torri Case. The Caseys are projected to return a host of talented underclassmen led by Savage and Lombardi.

Senior CF Isabella Maria smoked a three-run home run to center field in the 2nd inning and senior catcher Jaelynn Nunez crushed a solo home run on the ensuing at bat, as the Griffins (27-2) defeated the Irish (14-8). Senior pitcher Gylian Hixenbaugh recorded 7 strikeouts and allowed only four hits in the complete game win. Junior LF Molly Hoops finished 1-for-1 with two RBI’s and a run.

Donovan Catholic will host (2) St. John Vianney in the sectional final later this week.
