NJSIAA State Tournament

First Round

Central Jersey Group 3

(12) Ewing 6, (5) Freehold Boro 4

The Blue Devils (8-14) scored three runs in the first inning and built up a 6-0 lead heading into the sixth inning, before holding off a late rally to knock off the Colonials (14-10). Ewing finished with 13 total hits on all singles as a team.

Junior CF Paige Sheridan went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs in the loss. Freshman 1B Jackie Russo was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Central Jersey Group 1

(4) Highland Park 12, (13) Keansburg 5

The Owls (16-12) scored seven runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning to pull away and eliminate the Titans (8-12).

Sophomore pitcher Arielle Buchanan batted 1-for-3 with two RBI’s in the loss. Senior CF Jabnelyz Crespo-Borges was 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBI’s, and a run. Freshman 3B Taylor Diaz went 2-for-3 with two runs. Sophomore RF Janessa Muniz finished 1-for-2 with a double and a run.

South Jersey Non-Public A

(8) Paul VI 15, (9) St. Rose 0

The Eagles (16-8) overwhelmed the Purple Roses (8-17) behind a pair of home runs from sophomore Angelina Moffo and freshman Kaylee Reeves and only two hits and a walk allowed from senior pitchers Camryn Strother and Ava Nevius.

Sophomore C Elena Scelfo and freshman LF Charlee Johnson recorded the lone hits in the loss.

 

Non-Division

Toms River South 8, Point Boro 6

Sophomore 1B Mikayla Lindemann went 1-for-2 with two walks and three RBI’s, as the Indians (12-14) defeated the Panthers (8-13). Junior C Samantha DiNicola was 1-for-3 with a walk, two RBI’s, and a run. Senior SS Addison Tupper batted 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs. Junior LF Aubrey Coulson finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run.

Senior SS Cassidy Supplee went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, and three RBI’s in the loss.
