Class A North

No. 3 CBA 76, Manalapan 69

Senior Kevin Pikiell scored 25 points and the Colts (15-3, 9-0) used a 14-0 third-quarter run to take the lead before holding on to beat the Braves (7-11, 1-7) on the road.

Pikiell, classmate Justin Fuerbacher and junior Charlie Marcoullier keyed the third-quarter run that turned a 43-40 Manalapan lead into a 54-43 CBA advantage. Fuerbacher finished with 15 points, Marcoullier netted 10 and junior Connor Andree pitched in 12 for CBA.

Manalapan stayed within striking distance through the final minutes thanks to a game-high 28 points from senior Aiden Sosinov and 20 points by junior Dean Aviles. Junior George Hardy also pitched in 15 points for Manalapan, which hit 11 three-pointers as a team, with Sosinov, Aviles and Hardy each hitting three.

 

Class A Coastal

No. 7 Holmdel 60, No. 9 Red Bank Catholic 59

Junior Jack Vallillo and senior Joe Curreiri each scored 12 points and the Hornets (11-6, 6-3) rallied from a double-digit second-half deficit to upend the Caseys (11-9, 4-5).

Senior Daxx Corneiro added 11 points, senior Ire Adesina chipped in 10 and senior C.J. Karis threw in nine for Holmdel, which trailed by as many as 12 in the third quarter and 10 in the final seconds of the third before a three-point play by Corneiro cut the deficit to eight heading into the fourth. Vallillo gave Holmdel the lead for good with a driving layup that made it 50-49 with 2:48 left in the fourth.

Senior Ryan Prior scored a game-high 22 points and classmate Sean Saxton poured in 19 to lead Red Bank Catholic, which hit 10 three-pointers as a team to just three by Holmdel.

Middletown South 63, St. John Vianney 50

Senior Brady Hahn scored a game-high 27 points points and the Eagles (8-11, 2-7) soared to a home win over the Lancers (6-14, 0-9), snapping a six-game skid.

Juniors Matt Trimble and Beckett Oliver each scored nine points for Middletown South. Sophomore Justin Togans scored 13 points and classmate Nicky Mejia added 11 to lead St. John Vianney.

No. 5 Red Bank 55, No. 6 Rumson-Fair Haven 51

Sophomore Will Galligan came off the bench to score a game-high 18 points and the Bucs (17-3, 9-0) outlasted the Bulldogs (13-5, 6-3) to sweep the season series, clinch the outright Class B North championship game and deliver coach George Sourlis his 700th career win as a high school head coach.

Galligan led a tide-turning second quarter for Red Bank by scoring 11 of his points on 4-for-4 shooting, including 3-for-3 from three-point range. The last of those three-pointers gave Red Bank the lead for good at 26-23 heading into the half and the sophomore also pulled in five rebounds in the win.

Senior Zayier Dean added 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists and senior Ryan Fisher returned to the lineup with eight points, five rebounds and five assists following a three-game absence due to a concussion.

Senior David Carr scored all 13 of his team-high 13 points in the second half, including a pair of three-pointers in the final 10 seconds. Rumson shot 4-for-9 from beyond the three-point arc in the first quarter, then missed 17 straight three-point attempts before Carr finally broke the spell with two threes after the game was already in hand.

Sourlis won 654 of his career victories during his 30 seasons as the girls basketball coach at Rumson-Fair Haven. He retired from that position following the 2015-16 season and returned to the sideline when he took the head boys job at Red Bank Regional for the 2022-23 season. In three years with Sourlis at the helm, Red Bank is 46-23 and now three wins shy of back-to-back 20-win seasons.

 

Class A Central

No. 2 Manasquan 81, Howell 42

Senior Griffin Linstra scored 21 of his game-high 28 points and the Warriors (17-2, 8-2) steamrolled the Rebels (9-10, 2-7) to close out their Shore Conference regular-season with a win ahead of Friday’s showdown with Gill St. Bernard’s — the No. 5 team in New Jersey.

Sophomore Rey Weinseimer added 17 points, classmate Logan Cleveland netted 10 and junior Jack O’Reilly kicked in nine for Manasquan.

Junior Cayden Parker led Howell with 12 points.

No. 1 St. Rose 84, Brick Memorial 33

Senior Evan Romano buried a career-high 30 points to go with five assists and five steals as the Purple Roses (15-5, 10-0) completed a perfect division record for the second straight year by topping the Mustangs (8-13, 1-8).

Sophomore Avery Lynch added 14 points for St. Rose, which played without junior standout Jayden Hodge. Senior Bryan Ebeling and freshman Oymere Rene each pitched in nine points in the win, with Ebeling also grabbing seven rebounds.

Junior Jason Lajara scored 19 points and classmate Austin Braaten chipped in eight points and six rebounds to lead Brick Memorial.

Jackson Memorial 68, Point Boro 64

Junior George Boley scored a game-high 24 points and the Jaguars (9-11, 5-4) held off the Panthers (10-9, 2-7) to clinch the season-series between the teams with a road win.

Junior Yaseer Johnson added 13 points and both senior Sean Hallihan and freshman Mi’Aire Anderson pitched in eight points each for Jackson Memorial.

Senior Drew Cardia led four Point Boro players in double-figure scoring with 22 points and also handed out six assists to go with three steals. Sophomore Jovin Steinmetz poured in 14 points and junior T.J. Jordan and sophomore Hunter Hynes each threw in 10 in the loss.

 

Class A South

Manchester 62, Toms River North 52

Senior M.J. Goins scored a game-high 19 points and classmate Aidan Lunn provided another double-double as the Hawks (3-16, 2-7) topped the Mariners (6-14, 3-6).

Lunn posted 14 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots, while fellow senior Ny’Zyr Battle contributed 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists for Manchester.

Senior Sherrod Nelson matched Goins with a game-high 19 points to lead Toms River North and freshman Jake Greenberg added 13 in the loss.

No. 10 Southern 49, Toms River South 39

Sophomore Noah Perna poured in 25 points while grabbing seven rebounds and distributing three assists to pace the Rams (15-4, 7-2) to a road win over the Indians (3-17, 0-9).

Junior Jake Sliwinski added 14 points and seven rebounds for Southern. Junior Shane Gambarony poured in 19 points to lead Toms River South.

No. 4 Central 58, Donovan Catholic 37

Senior Jaycen Santucci scored 22 points, pulled in eight rebounds and picked off four steals to lead the Golden Eagles (18-2, 9-0) over the Griffins (10-10, 6-3), clinching Central its second straight outright division championship and first as a member of Class A South.

Senior Jayson King added 15 points, four assists and seven steals while classmate Royalty Riley pitched in 10 points for Central. Senior Ryan Jacobs led Donovan Catholic with 16 points.

 

Class B North

Monmouth 66, Asbury Park 47

New Egypt 48, Neptune 41

Junior Nolan Arnold scored 16 points and classmate Evan Goldberg chipped in 14 as the Warriors (7-10, 4-5) made their first major statement as a Shore Conference program by pulling off a road win off the Scarlet Fliers (11-6, 4-4).

Junior Jordan Pierre led Neptune with 14 points and senior JayVion Rogers added nine in the loss.

Wall 54, Jackson Liberty 48

Junior Dan Hennessy scored 13 points and senior Demitri Tu scored all 11 of his points in the second half to help the Crimson Knights (16-3, 9-0) rally from a 16-point first-half deficit to beat the Lions (6-11, 2-7) and wrap up the outright Class B North championship.

Senior Brian McKenna hit a go-ahead three-pointer with five minutes left that gave Wall its first lead of the game and keyed an 14-4 run by the Crimson Knights to close the game. Jackson Liberty stormed out to a 20-4 lead by the early part of the second quarter and led, 27-18, at halftime.

Junior Liam Killea also scored 10 points for Wall. Sophomore Aidan Kelly and junior Aiden Brown each scored 13 points to lead Jackson Liberty, with senior Corey Hartnett chipping in 12 in the loss.

Point Beach 62, Lakewood 44

Junior Jacob Edgecomb scored a game-high 21 points and the Garnet Gulls (14-6, 7-2) cut down the Piners (2-15, 0-8) on the road.

Senior Scot Crowley added 10 points, sophomore George Breckenridge added nine and junior Elijah Ives chipped in eight for Point Beach. Junior Ronny Cuevas drained 17 points to lead Lakewood, while sophomore Isaiah Shade added 14 and junior Cris Rosario contributed 11 in the loss.

 

Class B South

Barnegat 54, Toms River East 46

Senior Cole Toddings scored 20 points and the Bengals (14-6, 6-1) beat the Raiders (7-11, 3-4) on the road to clinch the program’s first ever divsion championship in boys basketball.

Senior Todd Muhammad added 12 points, senior Mason Krey poured in 11 and junior Kyle Greenleaf pitched in eight for Barnegat. Freshman Brady Gillen scored a game-high 24 points to lead Toms River East.

Lacey 52, Pinelands 51

Senior Jon Stabile scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds and classmate Frank Smith hit the go-ahead three-pointer with under a minute to play to lead the Lions (7-11, 4-3) to a road win over the Wildcats (10-7, 4-4).

Smith finished with eight points in the win, while senior Anthony Mazza chipped in 13 points and senior D.J. Duffy contributed eight points and four assists for Lacey.

Senior Ty Kline led a balanced effort for Pinelands with 12 points. Junior Josh Barongo and senior Tyler McNally-Ferguson each added 10 points in the loss.

 

Non-Conference

Keyport 90, East Brunswick Magnet 57

Senior Nico Dispenza and junior Kai Arrington combined for 63 points and each exceeded 30 for the game to lead the Red Raiders (14-5) to a rout of the Tigers (0-17). Dispenza pumped in a game-high 32 points and Arrington backed him up with 31 as the two outscored East Brunswick Magnet on their own.
