Class A Central

Point Boro 74, Howell 57

Sophomore Hunter Hynes scored 30 points on eight three-pointers and the Panthers scored 47 points in the second half to pull away with a win over the Rebels.

Hynes scored 16 of the 47 second-half points, with junior Jovin Steinmetz scoring all of his 15 points after the first quarter. Senior Drew Cardia added 11 points for Point Boro, which shot 12-for-12 from the free-throw line, including a combined 11-for-11 by Hynes (4-for-4), Steinmetz (4-for-4) and Cardia (3-for-3).

Senior Steven Schipani hit six three-pointers on the way to a team-high 20 points for Howell and junior Cayden Parker helped out with 11 points in the loss.

No. 2 Manasquan 60, Brick Memorial 25

Sophomore Rey Weinseimer scored 16 points and senior teammate Griffin Linstra posted 12 points and six rebounds as the Warriors handled the Mustangs.

Junior Jack O’Reilly added six points and six rebounds for Manasquan, which built a 34-11 lead by halftime and coasted from there. Junior Sean Collins and senior Joe Witter each scored five points to lead Brick Memorial.

No. 1 St. Rose 78, Jackson Memorial 56

Junior Jayden Hodge scored 25 points to go with six rebounds, three assists and three blocked shots in leading the Purple Roses to a win over the Jaguars.

Freshman Izayah Cooper turned in a career night with 17 points, five rebounds and seven assists for St. Rose. Senior Evan Romano also threw in nine points in the win.

 

Class A South

Donovan Catholic 69, Manchester 52

Senior James Gibbons scored 15 points and classmate Derek Espineli kicked in 14 as the Griffins cruised to a win over the Hawks.

Senior Elijah Ravenell added nine points and senior Ryan Jacobs added eight for Donovan Catholic. Senior M.J. Goins poured in 17 points and senior Aidan Lunn pitched in 12 to lead Manchester.

No. 3 Central 71, Toms River South 41

Senior Jaycen Santucci drained 33 points while grabbing 10 rebounds and picking three steals in leading the Golden Eagles to a one-sided win over the Indians.

Senior Jayson King, senior Royalty Riley and sophomore Derek Roth each contributed eight points, while junior Elijah Reeder blocked six shots to go with his seven rebounds off the bench.

Junior Kharii Pringle scored 14 points and classmate Shane Gambarony added 11 to lead Toms River South.

 

Class B Central

New Egypt 68, Jackson Liberty 66 (OT)

Junior Ryan Reynolds hit a game-tying three-pointer in the final seconds of regulation to cap a furious run over the final two minutes of the fourth quarter and set up the Warriors to beat the Lions on the road in overtime.

Reynolds scored 14 points on four three-pointers, with classmate Nolan Arnold scoring a team-high 26 points for New Egypt, which erased an eight-point deficit in the final two minutes of regulation.

Junior Aiden Brown erupted for a career-high 35 points to lead Jackson Liberty.

Wall 69, Point Beach 45

Junior Dan Hennessy scored a game-high 19 points and the Crimson Knights rode Hennessy’s career-high plus a balanced scoring effort from the supporting for a win over the Garnet Gulls — their eighth straight victory.

Hennessy also provided a defensive spark with three steals, with Wall also blocking seven shots as a team. Senior Tom Ekberg chipped in seven points, six rebounds and three blocked shots, senior Brian McKenna chipped in six points, six boards and two blocks, and senior Demitri Tu pitched in seven points, three assists and two blocked shots.

Junior Liam Killea also contributed nine points and six assists for Wall, which closed the first quarter with back-to-back three-pointers to take a 19-7 lead and never led by fewer than 10 the rest of the way.

Junior Jacob Edgecomb and sophomore George Breckenridge each scored eight points to lead Point Beach.

 

Class B South

Toms River East 58, Lacey 56

Junior Shamus O’Grady led four Toms River East scorers in double-figure scoring with 14 points and the Raiders rallied from a nine-point deficit to start the fourth quarter to knock off the Lions.

Junior Austin Weber hit the game-tying three-pointer in the final minute and sophomore Chase Bailie knocked down the game-winning free throws to seal the victory. Weber finished with 11 points and Bailie pitched in 10. Senior Mason Clinton also pitched in 13 points for Toms River East.

Senior D.J. Duffy scored 15 points and senior Maris Mooney chipped in 11 to lead Lacey.

Pinelands 60, Brick 53 (OT)

Senior Ty Kline put up 18 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals to lead the Wildcats to an overtime win over the Green Dragons, extending their winning streak to five.

Sophomore Cayden Lucas chipped in 15 points and five rebounds, senior Brady Fence contributed 10 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, and senior Matt Davis added eight points and six assists for Pinelands.

 

Non-Division

Henry Hudson 79, Asbury Park 46

Sophomore JoJo Newell and senior Kevin Pharo each scored 18 points and junior Michael Fitzpatrick threw in 17 to lead the Admirals over the Blue Bishops, who played without senior Jack Fitzpatrick (illness).

Quamel Whitaker scored a game-high 24 points to lead Asbury Park.

No. 4 CBA 66, Barnegat 40

Senior Gavin Marlin hit four three-pointers on the way to a game-high 17 points to help ignite a win for the Colts over the Bengals.

Senior Justin Fuerbacher netted 11 points and sophomore David Buley, junior Connor Andree and senior Kevin Pikiell each added eight points for CBA.

Senior Mason Krey matched Marlin with a game-high 17 points to lead Barnegat, with senior Cole Toddings pitching in nine in the loss.

 

Non-Conference

St. John Vianney 59, Pioneer Academy 49

Sophomore Nicky Mejia hit five of his six three-pointers and scored 15 of his 20 points during the second quarter and the Lancers closed out a win over Pioneer Academy. Senior Dan Simeone added 12 points for St. John Vianney.
