No. 4 CBA 90, No. 8 Colts Neck 56
Senior Kevin Pikiell fired in a team-high 15 points and the Colts (14-3, 8-0) rode a well-rounded performance on Senior Night to beat the Cougars (8-6, 4-3) and clinch the outright Class A North championship.
Junior Charlie Marcoullier added 14 points and was one of three CBA players to knock down three three-pointers, with the Colts draining 15 as a team. Senior Cam Reynholds poured in 11 points on three three-pointers and junior Gavin Marlin knocked down three triples en route to nine points for CBA. Senior Justin Fuerbacher also pitched in 12 points and senior Charlie Messano hit a pair of threes to get him to eight points on the night.
Senior Lukas Sloan scored a game-high 16 points to lead Colts Neck and classmate Jack Freid chipped in 10 in the loss.
Class A Coastal
No. 6 Rumson-Fair Haven 64, No. 9 Red Bank Catholic 44
Junior Luke Lydon led four Rumson players in double-figure scoring with 16 points and the Bulldogs (13-3, 6-2) dug in on defense to pay back the Caseys (10-8, 4-4), salvaging a regular-season split with their Class A Coastal rivals.
Junior Luke Cruz poured in 14 points, senior David Carr pitched in 12 and senior Riley Gill contributed 10 for Rumson, which is the first team to hold RBC under 60 points in seven games and the first to hold them under 50 since a Dec. 29 loss to Toms River North.
Juniors Jake Frankle and James Hankowski each scored 12 points and senior Ryan Prior added 10 to lead Red Bank Catholic.
No. 7 Holmdel 62, St. John Vianney 50
Senior Daxx Corneiro scored 10 of his game-high 20 points in the first quarter and the Hornets (10-6, 5-3) rolled to a cross-town road win over the Lancers (6-13, 0-8).
Freshman Anthony Serini pumped in 14 points and junior Jack Vallillo added 12 for Holmdel. Sophomore Nicky Mejia scored 11 points and classmate Danny O’Neill added 10 to lead St. John Vianney.
Class A Central
No. 1 St. Rose 77, Jackson Memorial 39
Junior Jayden Hodge scored 16 points and the Purple Roses (13-5, 9-0) tamed the Jaguars (7-11, 4-4) to clinch the outright Class A Central championship. The outright division title is the second straight for St. Rose, which has also won a piece of a division title in three straight seasons, including the 2022-23 co-championship shared with Manasquan.
Freshman Izayah Cooper added 12 points and sophomore Avery Lynch pitched in 10 for St. Rose. Junior George Boley led Jackson Memorial with 12 points.
No. 2 Manasquan 66, Brick Memorial 34
Sophomore Rey Weinseimer scored 14 points and three seniors added 12 on Senior Night to lead the Warriors (15-2, 7-2) over the Mustangs (7-12, 1-7) to clinch Manasquan the public division championship in Class A Central.
Griffin Linstra Caden Eastmond and Matteo Chiarella each poured in 12 points for Manasquan. Junior Sean Collins led Brick Memorial with 14 points.
Howell 56, Point Boro 52 (OT)
Junior Cayden Parker, senior Peter Barkauskas and sophomore Noah Musto combined for 40 points, including 17 of Howell’s 19 points in the fourth quarter and overtime as the Rebels (9-8, 2-6) scored an impact win on the road over the Panthers (10-7, 2-6).
Parker and Barkauskas each scored 14 points and Musto added 12, including the only made field goal of overtime, which came off a feed from Barkauskas and gave Howell a 53-51 lead on the Rebels’ first possession. Musto and Parker each scored six points in the fourth quarter and overtime.
Sophomore Hunter Hynes led Point Boro with 13 points and his corner three-pointer with 47 seconds left tied the game, 51-51. Both of Hynes’s field goals were three-pointers in the fourth quarter.
Senior Drew Cardia added 10 points and senior T.J. Jordan chipped in nine for Point Boro.
Class A South
Donovan Catholic 55, Manchester 52
Senior James Gibbons scored 13 points and the Griffins (9-9, 6-2) held on to beat the Hawks (2-15, 1-7). Senior Ryan Jacobs and junior Pat Gallo each added 10 points for Donovan Catholic.
Senior Aidan Lunn led Manchester with 19 points, 15 rebounds and five assists and classmate M.J. Goins added 14 points in the loss.
No. 10 Southern 59, Toms River North 40
Junior Jake Sliwinski and sophomore Noah Perna each scored 16 points and filled up the stat sheet in helping the Rams (12-4, 6-2) top the Mariners (6-12, 3-5) on the road. Sliwinski grabbed nine rebounds, handed out four assists and pulled in three steals, while Perna contributed eight rebounds, four assists and six steals.
Senior Cooper Dempsey sparked Southern with four first-half three-pointers to account for his 12 points and also added dished out four assists. Senior Mekai Morse scored 13 points to lead Toms River North.
No. 3 Central 69, Toms River South 40
Seniors Jaycen Santucci and Royalty Riley each posted a double-double and the Golden Eagles (17-1, 8-0) routed the Indians (2-15, 0-8) to clinch no worse than a share of the Class A South championship.
Santucci scored a game-high 20 points to go with 11 rebounds and Riley pitched in 15 points, 10 rebounds and five steals. Senior Jayson King also contributed 12 points and three steals, while sophomore Derek Roth delivered nine points, five rebounds and five assists for Central.
Junior Shane Gambarony scored 17 points to lead Toms River South.
Class B Central
Neptune 53, Lakewood 38
Senior Jayden Myrthil scored a game-high 21 points and the Scarlet Fliers (11-5, 4-3) downed the Piners (2-11, 1-5) to get back on track following a two-game skid.
Junior Jordan Pierre added 10 points and senior Darren Fonrose pitched in eight for Neptune. Junior Ronny Cuevas scored 20 points to pace Lakewood.
Wall 50, Point Beach 37
Senior Brian McKenna posted a double-double and junior Dan Hennessy scored a game-high 12 points as the Crimson Knights (14-3, 7-0) completed a season-sweep of the Garnet Gulls (12-6, 6-2) by winning on the road.
McKenna finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds, senior Demitri Tu netted 10 points and junior Liam Killea chipped in eight for Wall, which can clinch its first division championship in five years with one more win within the division.
Junior Jacob Edgecomb scored 11 points and classmate Elijah Ives and senior Scot Crowley each added 10 to lead Point Beach.
New Egypt 58, Jackson Liberty 51
Junior Nolan Arnold went off for a career-high 34 points and the Warriors (5-10, 3-5) bested the Lions (6-9, 2-6) to complete a regular-season sweep of their new Class B Central rivals.
Junior Clyde Ferris added 10 points for New Egypt, which put the game away with a 15-7 advantage in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Aidan Kelly scored 15 points and sophomore Jayden Hartnett chipped in 13 to lead Jackson Liberty.
Class B South
Lacey 55, Toms River East 53
Less than a week after scoring a career-high 32 points, senior Jon Stabile put up 31 to go with 10 rebounds to lead the Lions (6-10, 3-3) to a win over the Raiders (7-9, 3-3).
Senior Anthony Mazza added seven points and five assists and senior D.J. Duffy dished out six assists for Lacey to go with four points and three steals. Freshman Tommy Intintola scored 19 points and classmate Brady Gillen poured in 18 to lead Toms River East.
Pinelands 50, Brick 49
Senior Tyler McNally-Ferguson stole an inbounds pass and laid the ball in for the game-winning basket with six seconds left and the Wildcats (10-5, 4-2) pulled out a thrilling road win over the Green Dragons (6-12, 1-6).
McNally-Ferguson finished with seven points, with junior Josh Barongo scoring a team-high 16 points and senior Ty Kline contributing 12 for Pinelands. Sophomore Jamel Pitts carried Brick’s offense with a game-high 29 points.
Non-Conference
Henry Hudson 54, Academy Charter 52
Senior Jack Fitzpatrick scored 20 points and sophomore JoJo Newell poured in 17 to carry the Admirals (13-5) to a narrow win over the Panthers (7-7) while playing without injured junior starter Billy Quinn.
Senior Dante Lyons hit five three-pointers and matched Fitzpatrick with 20 points to lead Academy Charter.
Keansburg 82, Thomas Edison Charter 67
Ja’Zier Wynn scored 23 points and A’Son Young netted 21 to help the Titans (6-10) overcome a 39-point outburst by Gabriel Ogele to beat Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter (1-12). Gary Friberg also chipped in 16 points for Keansburg.
