Senior Scot Crowley scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Garnet Gulls coasted to a season-opening win over the Lions. Junior Jacob Edgecomb added 14 points and sophomore Dan Cavanaugh posted seven points, nine rebounds six assists and five steals for Point Beach.
Senior Jon Stabile scored 10 points and classmate Maris Mooney added nine to lead Lacey.
Holmdel 51, Wall 43
Senior Joe Currieri scored a career-high 21 points behind five three-pointers and the Hornets bested the Crimson Knights to nail down a season-opening win.
Senior C.J. Karis added 18 points for Holmdel, while juniors Liam Killea and Brian McKenna each scored nine points to lead Wall.
Raritan 52, Monmouth 44
Junior James Dillon scored a game-high 13 points to lead a balanced overall effort by the Rockets in a season-opening win over the Falcons (0-2).
Senior Sean Burnett contributed 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and four steals, while junior Ian Mullan also reached double-figure scoring with 11 points, five rebounds and two steals. Senior Alan Warren led the rebounding effort with 11 boards to go with his six points and four assists for Raritan.
Sophomore Sam Jackson scored 13 points and classmate Javon Bowles added 11 to lead Monmouth.
Middletown South 53, Matawan 39
Junior Matt Trimble scored 19 points and senior Brady Hahn poured in 18 to lead the Eagles (1-1) to a road win over the Huskies, who dropped their season-opener. Trimble also grabbed nine rebounds and four steals, while Hahn pulled in seven rebounds.
Senior Jayden Elijah led Matawan with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Shore 72, New Brunswick 17
Senior Bryce Crowe pumped in 22 points and the Blue Devils handled the Zebras to open their season with a convincing victory. Junior Finn Watson collected 14 points, while sophomore Maddox Paulin pitched in nine for Shore.

St. John Vianney 79, Redland Christian Academy (Fla.) 27
Sophomore Dan Lavan posted 22 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals to headline the Lancers’ second straight win to open the season — this time to advance to the semifinals of the KSA Classic Gray Bracket.
Senior Alex Jurado added 18 points, while seniors Jesse Plunkett and Mateo Bare each came up with six steals, with Plunkett also netting 11 points for St. John Vianney (2-0).
