Senior wideout Justin Farina rushed for two touchdowns, and senior quarterback Jake Garrett threw a touchdown and rushed for another, as the Spartans (1-1) topped the Cougars (0-2).
Garrett found junior tight end Aamir Byrd on a touchdown pass, while senior running back Jake Volek connected with senior wideout John Mangeniello on a touchdown pass.
Long Branch 51, Keansburg 0
The Green Wave (1-1) exploded for six rushing touchdowns in their new-look Flexbone attack, as they blanked the Titans (0-2) to end a 14-game losing streak in emphatic fashion.
Senior fullback Julian Otey, senior fullback Uzziah Puryear, sophomore quarterback Bryce Rhoden, senior slotbacks Isiah Rosario and AJ Colon, and junior slotback Steve Gaudious each compiled rushing touchdowns.
Rhoden also tossed a touchdown pass to Otey.
Monmouth 40, Keyport 14
The Falcons (2-0) took a 26-0 halftime lead and never looked back against the Red Raiders (0-1).
Junior quarterback Ryan Corwin accounted for four touchdowns — for a total of seven through two games — finding the end zone twice on the ground and twice through the air.
Corwin found junior tight end Donovan Hicks and junior wideout Liam Faulkner for scores, and Faulkner added a tackle-f0r-loss in the end zone for a safety. Freshman running back Conall Hicks made a big impact for the second straight game, registering his first rushing touchdown.
Senior Sam Jackson also added a 29-yard field goal.

Pinelands 42, Freehold Boro 0
Six different players scored, as the Wildcats (2-0) routed the Colonials (0-2).
Junior running back Lucas DeDrue broke off a 75-yard rushing touchdown on the first drive of the game. Junior linebacker Montrell Carter returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown. Junior running back RJ Clark added a 28-yard touchdown.
Senior quarterback JJ Jenkins found senior wideout Anthony Bonds for a touchdown on a 60-yard screen pass. Junior running back Brayden Santiano plunged in for an 11-yard touchdown run.
Sophomore quarterback Rex Kline capped off the scoring with a 2-yard touchdown. Junior kicker Alex Hickey was a perfect 6-for-6 on extra points.
Jackson 21, Toms River South 10
Sophomore running back/linebacker Brayden Ramos returned an interception 90 yards for a touchdown and rushed for a 29-yard touchdown, as the Jaguars (2-0) defeated the Indians (1-1). Senior defensive back Gavin Dill recorded a 25-yard pick six to ice the game.
Junior wideout Zahir Armour ran for a 3-yard touchdown in the loss.
No. 2 Donovan Catholic 45, No. 11 St. John Vianney 13
Senior quarterback Kahden Davis accounted for four touchdowns as the Griffins (2-0) rolled past the Lancers (1-1). Davis threw three touchdown passes, connecting with junior wideout TJ Hunter for 15 yards, senior wideout Aidan Kelly for 57 yards and senior wideout Nyron Snerling for 14 yards. He also scored on a 2-yard quarterback keeper.
Senior running back Diondre Foendoe added a 1-yard touchdown run, while senior running back Alex Staten broke loose for a 69-yard score. Senior kicker Sal Reynoso connected on a 47-yard field goal.
For St. John Vianney, junior quarterback Will Calcagno connected with sophomore wideout Jaheim Worthy for an 80-yard touchdown. Junior quarterback Anthony Petracca added an 18-yard rushing touchdown.
No. 4 Rumson-Fair Haven 32, Middletown South 13
Junior quarterback Brady Williams accounted for four touchdowns as the Bulldogs (2-0) defeated the Eagles (0-2). Williams scored on runs of 48 and one yards and connected with junior wideout Michael Capra for touchdown passes of 18 and 15 yards. Williams also rushed for a two-point conversion.
Senior kicker Jackson Wile added a 20-yard field goal. Senior defensive back Hunter Beattie intercepted two passes, while junior defensive lineman Brendan Dermer added another interception.
For Middletown South, senior quarterback Jack Schneider connected with senior wideouts Michael Mullane and Owen Maguire for touchdown passes of 25 and 37 yards, respectively.
Shore 21, Point Beach 13
Senior running back Cole Torres scored two touchdowns as the Blue Devils (1-1) defeated the Garnet Gulls (1-1). Torres found the end zone on runs of six and four yards.
Senior quarterback Logan Clark connected with sophomore wideout Santino Martini for a 62-yard touchdown pass.
For Point Beach, junior running back Thomas Aiosa broke loose for a 62-yard touchdown run, while senior running back Danny Neal plunged in for a one-yard score.

No. 1 Red Bank Catholic 62, St. Anthony’s (NY) 41
Sophomore running back Gabe Kemp exploded for 217 yards and four touchdowns on 30 carries as the Caseys (1-1) pulled away from the Friars (0-1) in a shootout. Kemp scored on runs of 20, nine, one and one yards.
Sophomore quarterback Rahmir Rivera threw two touchdown passes to junior wideout Jason Berecsky, connecting with him for scores of 43 and 15 yards. Senior Mikey O’Neal added a kickoff return touchdown of more than 80 yards, while sophomore kicker Simon Picinich connected on field goals of 36 and 26 yards. Senior running back Jordan Mosenthine added a 9-yard touchdown run.

Neptune 32, Asbury Park 6
Senior quarterback Caleb Brown-Mason ran and threw two touchdowns to help lead the Scarlet Fliers (1-1) past the Blue Bishops (0-2) in a game that was called three minutes into the third quarter due to a “medical emergency” involving an Asbury Park player, according to Asbury Park athletic director Matt Ardizzone.
Senior wideout Hassin McMillian opened Neptune’s scoring with a 43-yard run minutes into the game. Junior kicker Jake Waldmann also added a 37-yard field goal later in the first quarter.
Brown-Mason finished 7-for-9 passing for 135 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 94 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Jahdir Thompson added two catches for 22 yards and a touchdown, and senior wideout Jason Whittaker, an Asbury Park transfer, finished with two catches for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Asbury Park’s lone score came when sophomore wideout Kevan Crawford returned the opening kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown.
No. 5 Brick Memorial 27, Brick 14
Senior quarterback Tyler Pierce accounted for four touchdowns as the Mustangs (2-0) downed the Dragons (1-1) in an intra-town battle.
Pierce ran for two scores, and threw two to senior receiver Shawn Fowler and senior tight end Joe Livio.
Barnegat 34, Lakewood 0
The Bengals (2-0) scored twice on defense and scored all 34 points in the first half on the way to a big win over the Piners (0-2).
Junior running back Ryan Fitzpatrick opened the scoring with a two-yard run, followed by a fumble returned for a touchdown by senior defensive lineman Patrick Small in the opening four minutes. Senior running back Chris Santero added a score with five minutes left in the quarter from seven yards out, and on the ensuing drive picked off a pass for another 25-yard score to cap the first quarter.
Fitzpatrick added his second touchdown with nine minutes left in the second quarter from 65 yards out.
No. 12 Wall 42, Freehold Twp 41 (OT)
The Crimson Knights (1-1) rolled the dice in overtime, converting a two-point attempt for the win to defeat the Patriots (1-1).
No. 8 Middletown North 35, Lacey 6
Senior running back Patrick Jacques returned the opening kickoff back to jump start the Lions of Middletown (1-0) in a victory over the Lions of Lacey (1-0). Junior quarterback Derek Grasso found junior wideout Anthony Christiani for two touchdown passes. Senior running back Matt Belenko and senior wideout Danny Sigler each rushed for a touchdown.
Manchester 7, New Egypt 3
Junior quarterback Trevor Freyer’s ten-yard score to senior wideout Aaron Gregg in the second quarter was enough for the Hawks (1-1) to hold off the Warriors (1-1).
Manchester’s defense played a stellar second half, registering multiple sacks and goal-line stands to secure the victory.
Matawan 18, Raritan 12
Junior running back Sean Euell scored twice to help the Huskies (1-1) fend off the Rockets (1-1).
Junior defensive back Zach Johnson also returned a touchdown for a score.
Raritan’s touchdowns came on a keeper by senior quarterback Parker Needham and a blocked punt returned for a touchdown by senior Sam Guiney.
No. 3 Toms River North 42, Toms River East 0
Senior running back Lucas Elias had touchdown runs of 8 and 2 yards and junior defensive back Tarrell Council had a 71-yard interception return for a touchdown as the Mariners (2-0) rolled past the Raiders (1-1) for their 14th straight win in the rivalry series.
Senior quarterback Cole Garrison added a 39-yard touchdown run, sophomore Finn Boland had a 4-yard touchdown run, and senior Wesley Tanner chipped in with a 33-yard touchdown scamper in the win.
No. 7 Manalapan 36, Marlboro 0
The Braves (2-0) used a strong rushing attack and defense to blank the Mustangs (1-1).
Senior quarterback Cameron Desfosse ran for touchdowns of two and 30 yards and threw a three-yard score to junior Michael Gelicke, while junior running back PJ Pape ran for a 49-yard touchdown. Senior running back Nick Palmieri added a four-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter after an interception to finish the scoring.
No. 6 Holmdel 48, Red Bank 7
A huge all-around game by junior WR/DB Anthony Serini helped the Hornets (2-0) cruise past the Bucs (1-1) as they once again lit up the scoreboard.
Serini had a 15-yard touchdown run on offense, a blocked punt recovery for a touchdown on special teams, and two interceptions on defense, including one he returned 90 yards for a touchdown.
Sophomore quarterback Tommy Fletcher threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Pescatore and a 40-yard touchdown to wideout Charlie Murphy in the win. Senior Matt Scheinman added a 2-yard touchdown run set up by a catch by Serini, and senior Michael Todisco had a 4-yard touchdown run.
Sophomore Sam Schroeder had a touchdown run in the loss for Red Bank.
No. 10 Point Boro 20, Manasquan 6
The Panthers (2-0) won a hard-fought battle over the Warriors (1-1).
Senior quarterback Jake Clayton ran for two touchdowns — from one and seven yards — and senior fullback DJ Albanese added a two-yard touchdown to open the scoring.
Manasquan’s lone score came from two yards out by senior running back Dax Klein. Klein started at quarterback in the wildcat in the place of injured senior Kyle Dow.
Howell 13, Central 7
Junior quarterback Connor Acker threw a pair of touchdown passes to help the Rebels (1-0) knock off the Golden Eagles (0-2) in their season opener.
Acker threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to senior tight end Ivan Padilla and a 20-yard score to junior wide receiver Jackson Behn in the win.
