Senior quarterback T.J. Valerio threw three touchdown passes, two of which went to senior wideout Nasir Jackson, while senior Mekai Morse had a touchdown catch and a pick-6, as the Mariners (8-0) shut down the Rams (5-3) to post their third straight shutout, extend their winning streak to 13 games, and win their 33rd straight game vs. public schools.
It was also the 100th career coaching victory for Toms River North head coach Dave Oizerowitz.
Valeior threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Jackson, a 12-yard touchdown to Morse and a 19-yard scoring pass to Jackson. Senior receiver Cam Thomas had a 40-yard catch that set up senior running back Mordecai Ford for a 2-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
No. 2 Rumson-Fair Haven 56, No. 9 Donovan Catholic 32 – Game Story
Senior quarterback Owen O’Toole completed 26 of 30 passes for 331 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 35 yards and a touchdown as he and the Bulldogs (7-0) outdueled the Griffins (2-4) and Rutgers recruit Michael Thomas III to win a wild shootout at Borden Stadium.
Thomas ran for 278 yards and three touchdowns on just 15 carries and threw a touchdown pass to sophomore tight end Jayden Nascimento. He ran for a 94-yard touchdown on Donovan’s first offense play and then ran for a 93-yard touchdown on his second carry. He had 233 yards rushing and three touchdowns on eight carries at halftime.
Rumson senior wide receiver Nick Thomas caught 8 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown, junior tight end Jack Gyimesi caught a 9-yard touchdown pass and senior wideout Jordan Angstreich caught five passes for 93 yards. Junior running back Kellen Murray ran for 83 yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries and senior defensive back Evan Ridgway returned an interception 36 yards for a touchdown.
In addition to Thomas’s four touchdowns, sophomore quarterback Kyle Dow threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Isaac Correia. Freshman AJ Pena ran for 84 yards.

No. 3 Point Boro 49, Manasquan 14
Sophomore slotback Nick Spanola ran for 97 yards and a touchdown on just three carries and returned a kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown as the Panthers (6-2) ran past the Warriors (3-5) in a meeting of former Thanksgiving rivals.
Sophomore quarterback Jake Clayton ran for 100 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, senior fullback Dylan Reitmeyer ran for two touchdowns, senior quarterback Mikey Ollendorf ran for 50 yards and a touchdown, and senior slotback Colin Obser added a touchdown run.
Senior defensive lineman Louis DiBiase led the defense with eight tackles and 1 tackle for loss, while Obser also had eight tackles and Clayton had an interception.
No. 5 Brick Memorial 34, Toms River South 0
Junior quarterback Jason Lajara completed 8 of 11 passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 65 yards and two touchodwns as the Mustangs (6-2) blanked the Indians (4-4) for a bounce-back victory.
Lajara tossed touchdown passes to junior wide receiver Nyzier Matthews and junior tight end Trey Tallmadge, while junior running back Nazeer Whittaker ran for 155 yards a touchdown on 13 carries for his second straight 100-yard game.
Tallmadge made his return to the lineup after missing the last three games with an injury and had the touchdown catch plus 12 total tackles with two tackles for loss on defense. He it now Brick Memorial’s all-time leading tackler with 279, surpassing the previous mark of 270 that was set by Jeff Munster in 1983.
Senior linebacker A.J. Ehrmantraut had 11 tackles, senior defensive lineman Ben Szuba had nine tackles with one tackle for loss and junior defensive back Rocco Iacullo intercepted a pass.
No. 7 Holmdel 49, Monmouth 12
Junior quarterback Jack Cannon completed 9 of 12 passes for 139 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 64 yards and two touchdowns on 9 carries as the Hornets (6-1) rolled to a victory over the Falcons (0-8).
Junior tight end Alex Reyes, senior receiver Frankie Serini and sophomore Michael Todisco had touchdown receptions. Freshman Anthony Serini ran for 33 yards and his first varsity touchdown. Senior linebacker Matt Iulo returned a fumble for a touchdown and sophomore defensive back Joseph Marino secured his first varsity interception.
No. 8 Wall 24, No. 10 Howell 14 – Game Story
Sophomore quarterback Franny Scaramellino threw a pair of 56-yard touchdown passes, one to junior tight end Justin Davis and another to senior wide receiver Tony Credle, as the Crimson Knights (6-1) won a top-10 showdown with the Rebels (3-4).
Junior kicker Heath Reinhardt added a 31-yard field goal in the third quarter and senior linebacker Joe Vaccaro returned an interception 15 yards for a touchdown with 1:01 left in the game.
An interception by Zach Padilla led to Howell scoring on a 9-yard pass from senior quarterback Vin Meehan to senior running back Juan DeJesus, cutting Wall’s lead to 14-7 late in the first half. Meehan also threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to DeJesus in the fourth quarter that pulled Howell within 17-14 with 3:21 left.

Sophomore wide receiver C.J. Yates caught two touchdown passes from senior quarterback Joe Vezzosi, senior running back Nick Ruggiero ran for two touchdowns and freshman linebacker Gus Copes returned an interception for a touchdown when the Golden Eagles (8-0) remained unbeaten with a shutout victory over the Colonials (2-6).
Ruggiero ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries and Vezzosi threw for 143 yards and two scores. Yates had three receptions for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Copes finished with 10 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack, a forced fumble and a pick-6.
No. 12 St. John Vianney 42, Matawan 21
Sophomore running back Abdul Turay ran for a career-high 241 yards and four touchdowns on 28 carries to lead the Lancers (5-3) past the rival Huskies (2-5).
Turay now has five games of 200 or more yards rushing this season and has 1,464 yards and 26 touchdowns through eight games.
Junior quarterback Zach LaBarca also had a big game by rushing for 116 yards and a touchdown on five carries and completing 9 of 13 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. Junior wideout Adam Urs had a touchdown reception and senior Jahmere James had an interception on defense.
St. John Vianney led 28-7 at halftime.
Manalapan 55, Freehold Township 19
Junior running back Ahsere Woolfolk ran for three touchdowns and sophomore running back Nicky Palmieri had two touchdown runs and a touchdown catch as the Braves (4-4) blew out the rival Patriots (5-3) for an important victory with the postseason looming.
Manalapan has now won 18 straight games over Freehold Township.
Palmieri had a 45-yard touchdown run, a 60-yard touchdown reception from senior quarterback Ryan Dougherty and a 3-yard touchdown run. The Braves also scored two defensive touchdowns with senior Jackson Pfister and junior DJ Corsaro returning interceptions for touchdowns.
Manalapan led 35-19 at halftime.
Pinelands 26, Neptune 20 (OT)
Senior running back Jaimin Parkinson scored on a 25-yard touchdown in overtime as the Wildcats (4-3) won a barnburner over the Scarlet Fliers (3-4) to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Neptune scored with 11 seconds on regulation to tie the score at 20 before Pinelands’ senior linebacker Heath Nelson blocked the extra point to send the game to overtime.
Parkinson ran for over 200 yards and scored three touchdowns and senior quarterback Ty Kline ran for a touchdown.
Jackson Memorial 35, Brick 21
Senior wide receiver Eric Zebrowksi had a touchdown run, a touchdown catch and a kickoff return touchdown to power the Jaguars (4-4) to a victory over rival Dragons (3-4).
Junior running back Jio Kabiri ran for over 200 yards and scored twice. The Jaguars were without standout junior running back Jonah Glenn.
Shore 37, Ocean 14
Sophomore running back Cole Torres ran for a career-high 175 yards and a touchdown, senior Brendan O’Brien had a touchdown run and a fumble return touchdown and senior quarterback Josh Moeller accounted for two touchdowns to lead the Blue Devils (7-0) past the Spartans (1-6) and give head coach Don Klein his 100th career win in his return to Ocean.
Klein is a Shore Regional alum who is in his first season leading the Blue Devils. He was previously the head coach at Ocean for 17 years and remains a history teacher at the school.
O’Brien returned a fumble 27 yards for a touchdown to get the scoring started in the first quarter. John Mazzacco added a 31-yard field goal, O’Brien ran for a 6-yard touchdown and Moeller tossed a 22-yard touchdown pass to Charlie McQuillian to forge a 23-7 halftime lead.
Moeller added a 2-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and Torres scored on a 7-yard run in the fourth quarter.
James Sobieski returned a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown and Josh Calixte ran for a 5-yard touchdown for Ocean.
Manchester 42, Point Beach 14
Senior running back Avery Phillips ran for a career-high 186 yards and three touchdowns on just eight carries to power the Hawks (6-2) to a dominant victory over the Garnet Gulls (4-3).
Phillips had a 72-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and ran for touchdowns of 20 and 48 yards in the fourth quarter. Senior quarterback Aidan Lunn threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to senior wideout M.J. Goins and a 5-yard touchdown pass to senior tight end Ny’Zyr Battle.
Sophomore linebacker Mike Fink recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown late in the first half for a 21-6 halftime lead. Goins also had an interception on defense, Phillips and senior Ian Spicer recorded one sack each, and senior linebacker Dante Mortellite recorded a team-high nine tackles.
Barnegat 47, New Egypt 7
Senior running Myquan Rush-Esdaile ran for 129 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries and threw a touchdown pass, while junior quarterback Jack Haviland tossed a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another to lead the Bengals (5-3) to a lopsided victory over the Warriors (5-2).
Senior running back Johnnel Johnson and sophomore running back Chris Santero also ran for touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Stephen Griffin, senior tight end Cole Toddings and senior wide receiver Jamison Prince had one touchdown reception each.
Johnson and Griffin also had interceptions on defense while Toddings had 8 tackles, 1 sack and 2 tackles for loss. Nick Malinowski had a forced fumble and Rush-Esdaile had a fumble recovery.

No. 4 Red Bank Catholic 42, Paramus Catholic 14
Senior quarterback Frankie Williams completed 13 of 20 passes for 201 yards and four touchdowns and also ran for a touchdown, and junior wide receiver Johnny Williams caught four passes for 95 yards and a touchdown and returned a punt for a touchdown as the Caseys (4-3) blew out the Paladins (3-4) for an impressive bounce-back victory.
RBC was coming off a 26-11 loss to Rumson-Fair Haven while Paramus Catholic entered the week ranked No. 14 in the NJ.com statewide top 20.
Junior wide receiver Daniel Zabora caught five passes for 64 yards and two touchdowns and senior running back Matt Lonczak had an 8-yard touchdown reception.
The victory will strengthen RBC’s playoff position. The Caseys entered the week 13th in United Power Ranking for Non-Public B while Paramus Catholic was fifth.
