Shore Conference Girls Basketball Scoreboard Tuesday, Jan. 7

Class A Central

No. 6 Howell 48, Wall 31

Howell built a 23 to 10 lead at halftime to win their seventh game of the season and remain the last undefeated team in the Shore Conference. Senior Kiera McKown scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Rebels. Payton Smith and Kylee Beam both added 9 points for Howell. Senior Marisa Amite posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds for Wall.

No. 5 Manasquan 65, Jackson Memorial 17

No. 3 St. Rose 61, Neptune 40

Junior Jada Lynch continued with another strong performance, leading the Roses with a game-high 25 points. Senior Cassidy Kruesi and junior Brooke Missry both added 11 points for St. Rose. Senior Bre Evans scored a team-high 16 points for Neptune.

 

Class A Coastal

No. 1 Red Bank Catholic 64, No. Red Bank Regional 29

No. 2 St. John Vianney 75,  No. 8 Rumson-Fair Haven 37

The Lancers came out of halftime outscoring Rumson 28-4 in the third quarter to win their eight game of the season. Junior Taylor Sofilkanich scored a game-high 20 points and Madison Kocis added 12 points to lead SJV. Sophomore Elisabeth Lyons added a career-high 10 points for the Lancers. Rumson was led by Chloe Kelly with 10 points.

 

Class A North

No. 7 Trinity Hall 47,  Marlboro 34

Trinity Hall picked up their first division win and gave Matt McCarthy his 100th win as head coach at the school. The Monarchs jumped out to a 22-10 lead in the first quarter and led the rest of the way. Senior Lilly Riggi scored a game-high 12 points and Grace Feeney added 10 points for the Monarchs. Olivia Stellato knocked three 3-pointers to finish with a team-high 9 points for Marlboro.

 

Class A South

Manchester at Southern,  PPD 1/8/25

Toms River East 52,  Donovan Catholic 31

Leading by two points entering the second quarter, the Raiders outscored Donovan 18-4 in the second quarter on their way to their first division victory of the season. TRE had three players score double-digits with Grace Crowley lead the team with 12 points and Kacey Briles adding 11 points. Junior Anais Friedman scored a team-high 11 points for Donovan.

Central 36, Toms River North 35

In a back and forth game, Central outscored TRN 11-9 in the second half to win their first game of the season. Junior Emma Christensen scored a game-high 18 points and Vita Kelyman added 11 points for Central. Both Cara Sarluca and Angelina DeCesare scored 9 points and DeCesare grabbed 9 rebounds.

 

Class B Central

No. 9 Point Boro 66, Jackson Liberty 11

The Panthers outscored Jackson Liberty 22 to 2 in the first quarter and cruised to their first division win of the season. Senior Sarah Dahl and freshman Taylor Lappke both scored 11 points to lead Point Boro.

Brick Memorial 61, Lakewood 27

The Mustangs outscored Lakewood 15-4 in the first quarter and led 36 to 11 at halftime on their way to their first victory of the season. Sophomore Olivia Emanual scored a career-high 25 points and Liana Lapena added 13 points for Brick Memorial.

Class B South

Barnegat 65, Pinelands 6

Brick Township 65, Lacey 36

Brick Township rebounded from yesterday’s defeat to win their first division game of the season. Trailing 14-13 after the first quarter, the Dragons outscored Lacey 52 to 22 the rest of the game and shut out the Lions in the fourth quarter. Senior Riley Nausedas scored a game-high 21 points and Ariana Wissen added 19 points for Brick Township. Senior Reece Paget posted a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
