Manasquan 2, No. 1 Freehold Twp. 1 (OT)

Sophomore Sam Price buried a direct kick in the 16th minute of overtime and the Warriors (1-1-1, 1-0-0) knocked off the Patriots (0-4, 0-2) on a golden goal.

Price also assisted Manasquan’s first goal – a finish by junior Jordyn Hollawell that gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead early in the second half.

Freehold Township tied the game in the 71st minute when senior Danielle Howard knocked in a shot from close range off a corner kick by senior Sophie Tonino.

No. 3 Red Bank Catholic 1, No. 5 Manalapan 0

Junior Paige Foye scored the lone goal of the game in the 70th minute and the Caseys (3-1, 1-0) held on to top the Braves (2-3, 0-1). Foye’s goal was her seventh in RBC’s first four matches and sophomore Heidi Wierman secured her second shutout in goal.

 

Class A Central

No. 8 Rumson-Fair Haven 3, Marlboro 0

Sophomore Jordyn Sullivan scored a goal and assisted another by senior Aubrey Scoble to ignite a win by the Bulldogs (2-1, 1-0) over the Mustangs (1-2, 0-1).

St. John Vianney 3, Colts Neck 2

Point Boro 1, No. 6 Central 0

Freshman Maddie Renna scored the game-winning goal in the second half off a pass from senior Abby Hannemann and the Panthers (3-0, 2-0) clipped the Golden Eagles (0-1-1, 0-1-0). Senior Ava Bjorndahl stopped eight shots in goal to secure the shutout.

 

Class B North

Middletown North 10, Matawan 2

Holmdel 1, St. Rose 0

Junior Rachel Yasnowski scored off a set-up from freshman Aylen Peters in the first half and the Hornets made the goal stand up in a win over the Purple Roses. Goalkeepers Gabriella Samaan and Natalie Clifford combined on the shutout.

 

Class B South

No. 10 Toms River East 3, Manchester 0

No. 9 Lacey 3, Point Beach 2 (OT)

Senior Reece Paget scored the tying goal midway through the second half and added the golden goal in the 17th minute of extra time to lead the Lions (5-0, 1-0) to a come-from-behind win over the Garnet Gulls (0-1, 0-1).

Senior Natalie McGovern scored Lacey’s first equalizer to tie the game, 1-1, in the 13th minute, which came off a pass from senior Avery Johnson. McGovern also set up Paget for the golden goal.

Senior Izzy Kurzon opened the scoring for Point Beach in the 11th minute and later assisted a go-ahead goal by junior Baileigh Johnson in the 21st minute.
