SSI Girls Lacrosse Top 10 Rankings for May 6

 

1. Rumson-Fair Haven (9-4) Last Week: 1

The Bulldogs remain No. 1 this week despite their first Shore Conference loss since 4/23/24.  RFH lost to American Division rival Shore before rebounding with wins over RBC and Bridgewater-Raritan. RFH’s offense was led by Mia Milkowski’s 9 goals and Rachel James’ 8 goals. Daisen Iwan added 7 goals for the Bulldogs. Goalie Sydney Kiernan stopped 21 shots in the 3 games. RFH has only one scheduled game this week, but the Shore Conference Tournament is right around the corner.

2. Trinity Hall (7-4) Last Week: 2

The Monarchs remain No. 2 this week after picking up wins against RBC and Shore, who took out No. 1 Rumson earlier in the week.  Trinity Hall’s offense was sparked by Mary Catherine O’Connor and Chiara Donohue who both scored 6 goals.  O’Malley Eldridge added 5 assists for the Monarchs. Goalies Virginia Avery and Anna Pharo split the workload, each garnering a win.

Upcoming games: 5/7 at Red Bank Catholic; 5/9 vs Moorestown

 

3. Shore (11-4) Last Week: 3

The Blue Devils split a pair of divisional games last week as they played both teams currently ahead of them in the American Division standings. Shore toppled No. 1 Rumson before losing to No. 2 Trinity Hall.  The Blue Devils ended the week by defeating out-of-conference opponent Seneca.  Offensively, Shore was led by Gabby O’Brien’s 10 goals. Jasmin Okuszka added 8 goals for the week.  Goalie Sofia Merten stopped a whopping 47 shots in the 3 games.

Upcoming games: 5/8 at Toms River East

 

4. Southern (6-3) Last Week: 5

The Rams move up one spot this week. Southern had a light workload last week, winning their lone game against Toms River East. Delaney Falk and Avery Smith led the offensive output with 5 goals each in the win. Falk also added 3 assists, 5 ground balls, and 8 draw controls.  Goalie Adyson Griffin stopped 8 shots in the victory over Toms River East.

Upcoming games: 5/6 vs No. 9 Barnegat; 5/10 vs Holy Spirit

 

5. Middletown South (9-4) Last Week: 4

The Eagles drop a spot in this weeks rankings after splitting a pair of games. Middletown South lost to Manasquan and defeated Point Boro. Abigail Gallagher scored 3 goals in the loss to the Warriors while Anna Stumberger added 2 goals. Hayley Jamison exploded for 5 goals in the win over Point Boro. Goalie Anna Weise made 16 saves in the 2 games.

6. Red Bank (7-4) Last Week: 6

The Bucs went 2-1 last week, losing to American Division rival Trinity Hall before defeating a pair of non-divisional teams in Wall and Toms River North. Chloe Keating led the offensive onslaught for the Bucs, scoring 13 goals. Teammate Karlie Ruland also had a big week, contributing 9 goals. Goalie Nora Tavares was busy in net, stopping 28 shots.

7. Manasquan (5-6) Last Week: Not ranked

The Warriors have worked their way back into the Top 10 a week after dropping out. Manasquan went a perfect 3-0 on the week, defeating Middletown South, East Brunswick, and Central. Sophia Evans led the offense with 9 goals, Ellie Sitar added 7, and Chloe Stevens chipped in with 6.  Goalie Alexandra Stamos stopped 15 shots in the 3 wins.

Upcoming games: 5/7 at Haddonfield; 5/10 at Ocean City

 

8. Central (9-5) Last Week: 7

The Golden Eagles went 1-2 in games last week as they defeated Colonial Division foe Point Boro before losing to non-divisional opponents Lacey and Manasquan. With their victory over Point Boro, Central clinched the Colonial Division crown. Senior RyAnn Dunn scored 7 goals to lead Central, including the 100th of her career vs Point Boro. Brianna Nelson scored 6 goals for the Golden Eagles. Addison Frulio continues to make major contributions as a freshman, scoring 4 goals for the week.  Goalie Morgan Schinder stopped 19 shots for Central.

Upcoming games: 5/8 vs St. John Vianney

 

9. Barnegat (9-2) Last Week: 8

The Bengals had only 1 game last week, an 11-5 win over Holmdel. Senior Emilia Ercolino scored 3 goals vs Holmdel, while sophomore Ella Tortorici chipped in with 2 goals. Goalie Allie Soden stopped 13 shots against the Hornets. Barnegat will be tested this week with 2 non-divisional games.

Upcoming games: 5/6 at No. 4 Southern, 5/9 at Red Bank Catholic

 

10. Toms River East (7-4) Last Week: 9

The Raiders went 2-1 last week, picking up wins over Wall and Brick while losing to Southern. Grace Crowley paced the Raiders offense with 12 goals. Ciley Francis added 7 goals for East while Allison Momm chipped in with 6. Goalie Angelina Murray stopped 31 shots in the 3 games, including 14 vs Southern.

Upcoming games: 5/7 at Middletown North; 5/8 vs No. 3 Shore
