USA Softball NJ Shore Conference Softball Scoreboard Thursday, April 24

 

Class A North

No. 3 St. John Vianney 9, No. 4 Middletown North 0

Junior pitcher Madison McDougall struck out 10 batters and allowed just 4 hits and a walk in a complete game shut out victory for the Lancers (7-1, 6-1) against the Lions (6-4, 4-3). McDougall surpassed 600 career strikeouts. Senior Elisabeth Figliolino crushed a 3 run home run. Junior Gabby Gonzalez smashed a solo home run. Sophomore Emma Fitterer went 1 for 2 with an RBI and a walk. Sophomore Brynn Utter hit an RBI double in the win for the Lancers.

 

No. 7 Colts Neck 7,  Freehold Township 0 

Scoreless after four innings, Colts Neck scored one run in the top of the 5th and added five more in the 6th to improve to 4-5 on season. Angela Sasso only allowed two hits and struck out 12 batters for Colts Neck. Adrianna Bryce hit a solo home run and scored two runs and Ellie Mager hit a double and drove in two runs for the Cougars.

 

No. 2 Red Bank Catholic 13, No. 5 Marlboro 3

Leading 1-0 after the first inning, RBC scored three runs in both the 3rd and 4th inning and four more in the 5th to win their 9th game of the season. Lily Hagan struck out 10 batters on the mound and went 4-for-4 with a double and for runs batted in at the plate for the Caseys. Freshman Mackenna Savage went 5-for-5 with a triple, double and three RBIs  and Grace Lombardi went 4-for-5 with a double and three runs scored for RBC.

Adison Ditillo drove in two runs on a single for Marlboro.

 

Class A South

Central 8, Toms River East 2

Senior pitcher Isabella Flora allowed just 2 hits, 1 walk, and 1 earned run in a complete game on the mound in the Golden Eagles’ (5-5, 3-4) victory over the Raiders (3-7, 2-5). Junior Jaelynn Witte crushed a grand slam. Junior Sianna Valverde went 3 for 4 with a solo home run. Senior Lena Banks was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBIs. Freshman Kayla Rasmussen hit an RBI single and walked once in the win for the Golden Eagles.

 

Class B North

No. 8 Middletown South 2,  No. 10 Raritan 0 (8 Innings)

Celia Collings broke a 0-0 tie in the top of the 8th inning to help the Eagles improve to 8-2 on the season. Collings singled to left field to score Madison Moran, who pinch-ran for Gianna Pancione after she singled and Chloe Cunningham, who pinch-ran for Riley Smith. Smith was lights out on the mound, striking out 17 batters and only allowing two hits.

Freshman Katelyn Ruta caused problems on the mound for the Middletown South hitters, striking out 8 batters for Raritan.

 

Monmouth 18, Freehold Boro 10

 

Class C North

Shore 19, Ocean 9 (6 innings)

Sophomore Ayden Kampf went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, 2 walks, and 5 RBIs in the Blue Devils’ (8-3, 6-1) win over the Spartans (4-6, 4-3). Senior Angela Christopher was a perfect 4 for 4 with 2 triples, a double, and 2 walks along with 3 RBIs. Sophomore Kelsey Orth went 2 for 3 with a double, a walk, and 3 RBIs. Sophomore Peyton Waterman went 1 for 2 with 3 walks and 3 RBIs in the win for the Blue Devils.

 

Manalapan 21, Henry Hudson 5

 

Keansburg 14,  Rumson-Fair Haven 2

Rumson’s bats got off to a hot start, scoring three runs in the 1st inning and 8 more in the 2nd inning to improve to 4-6 on the season. Mia Missig struck out 11 batters and only allowed 1 hit on the mound and scored two runs for the Bulldogs. Lilee Martinelle went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Jesse Martinelle went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

 

Non-Divisional

Manchester 15, Brick 0 (4 innings)

Junior pitcher Gabriella Minneci threw a 4 inning perfect game with 2 strikeouts as the Hawks (3-6, 2-5) soared past the Dragons (4-5, 4-2). Sophomore Kassandra O’Neill hit 3 RBIs. Freshman Christine Flanagan went 2 for 4 with an RBI and 2 runs.

 

Jackson Memorial 7, Manasquan 6

The Jaguars (7-6) dug themselves out of a 4-0 hole at the end of the 1st inning to rally and defeat the Warriors (3-7). Senior Nina Striano went 3 for 5 with a double and scored 2 runs. Senior Alexandra Santos went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks in addition to scoring a run. Senior Dominique Lopez was 2 for 3 with 2 walks and a run.

 

No. 1 Donovan Catholic 15, Wall 0 (4 innings)

Senior pitcher Gia Gordon struck out 5 batters and allowed 2 hits in 3 innings while senior pitcher Sophia Senger allowed no hits in the final inning to combine for a 4-inning shutout victory for the Griffins (12-0) over the Crimson Knights (5-4). Junior Jaelynn Nunez blasted a 2 run home run and walked twice. Junior Amelia Wescott crushed a solo home run. Junior Isabella Maria went 1 for 2 with an RBI double and a walk. Senior Christina Ginex went 2 for 2 with a double, 2 RBIs, and a walk. Senior Olivia Kurth hit a 2 RBI double.

 

New Egypt 22, Lakewood 0 (4 innings)

Junior Olivia Stillwell went 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 doubles, and 10 RBIs in a mercy rule victory for the Warriors (7-6) over the Piners (0-9). Junior Katelyn Thomas blasted a 2 run home run. Freshman pitcher Kylie White struck out 5 batters and allowed just 1 hit and 1 walk in the shutout win.
