Shore Conference Tournament
(17) Wall 4, (16) Point Boro 1
Wall jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning and added a run in the 2nd inning to advance into the second round of the Shore Conference Tournament. Emily Gill struck out 9 batters on the mound and went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Eloise Plevier went 3-for-3 with a RBI and Ella Bramley scored after drawing a walk.
Cassidy Supplee drove in Jadyn Clayton who reached on base with a walk for Point Boro.
Monmouth County Tournament Black Bracket Quarterfinals
Allentown 7, Matawan 1
The Huskies (8-6) fell to the Firebirds (9-7). Senior Hayley Maresca went 2 for 3 with an RBI in the loss.
Class A North
No. 2 St. John Vianney 1, No. 5 Middletown North 0
Nicole Giglio went 2-for-3 with a double and scored the games lone run in the bottom of the 1st inning off a Gabby Gonzalez double. Madison McDougall struck out 13 batters and only allowed two hits in the shutout victory.
Grace English struck out three batters and held SJV to just six hits for Middletown North.
Class C North
Shore 11, Henry Hudson 0
Dylann Lawrence struck out seven batters and 2-for-2 with three runs scored to lead Shore to their 13th win of the season. Morgan Shaftel went 2-for-3 with two RBis and Peyton Waterman went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Shore.
Coastal
Brick 15, Neptune 4
Jackson Liberty 16, Trinity Hall 8
Sophomore Madison Jefferson went 3 for 5 with 2 triples, a double, and 4 RBIs to lead the Lions (10-2) past the Monarchs (8-3). Sophomore Summer Hunter was 2 for 5 with 3 RBIs including a home run.
Red Bank 18, Keyport 0
Nondivisional
No. 10 Raritan 10, Toms River North 0 (5 Innings)
After scoring four runs in the first two innings, Raritan scored six in the bottom of the 5th inning to improve to 15-2 on the season. Payton Fleming went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Lila Houlihan went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Katelyn Rua only allowed one hit in the shutout and went 3-for-3 with two runs scored at the plate for Rartian.
Barnegat 6, Central 5 (10 Innings)
After letting Central back in the game with three runs in the top of the 7th inning, Barnegat improves to 15-4 with a RBI single by Riley Schimdt in the bottom of the 10th. Gianna Gomez struck out 19 batters to increase her lead in the Shore Conference and added two hits and a RBI for Barnegat. Schmidt went 3-for-5 with three runs scored.
Kayla Rasmussen went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs and Grace Ostapovich added a home run for Central.
Lakewood at Keansburg, 4 p.m.
No. 1 Donovan Catholic 6, No. 7 Marlboro 0
Donovan continues to roll, winning their 19th game of the season. Jaelynn Nunez went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Isabella Cino drove in two runs for Donovan. Gylian Hixenbaugh struck out 9 batters in the shutout.
No. 9 Southern 7, No. 4 Colts Neck 3
Senior Emily Evans did it all for Southern to help them win their 10th game of the season. Evans struck out five batters and worked our of jams on the mound and hit a solo home run to lead off in the bottom of the 4th inning. Madison Groschel-Klein went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Emily Zellman collected her 100th hit of her career.
Angela Sasso struck out eight batters for Colts Neck and went 2-for-4 with two RBIs at the plate.
Nonconference
Holmdel 8, South Brunswick 0
Junior pitcher Julia Henderson struck out 11 batters and allowed just 2 hits and a walk in the Hornets (10-5) win over the Vikings (6-10). Senior Avery Lewandowski went 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs, 2 walks, and 2 runs. Henderson went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs.
