Week 3 Shore Sports Insider Girls Basketball Players of the Week

Each week, Shore Sports Insider will recognize the top girls basketball performers in each of the eight Shore Conference divisions and nominate those eight for the weekly SSI Player of the Week Award. Four wild cards will also be part of the contest, giving the basketball fans of the Jersey Shore 10 candidates to choose from every week.

Read about this weeks honorees and vote in the poll at the bottom of the post for the best as this week’s Player of the Week. Vote once per hour until the poll closes Friday at 10 p.m. The winner will receive a gift card to Broad Street Dough Co., with New Jersey locations in Oakhurst, Wall and Freehold.

 

 

Class A Central

Jada Lynch, St. Rose

The 5’11 guard had a great week averaging 24 points per game for the week. Lynch also reached two milestones, scoring a career-high 40 points against top ranked Red Bank Catholic in the win and she finished the week scoring her 1,000th points against Bayonne.

 

Class A Coastal

Mackenzie Teevan, Holmdel

Teevan, a Holy Cross commit, averaged 22 points a game for the week including a double-double against Toms River North, 37 points and 13 rebounds.

 

Class A North

Ashley Krieger, Ranney

The 6’2 sophomore averaged 18 points per game for the week, including a double-double in a victory against Shore Regional, 25 points and 17 rebounds. Krieger’s has helped Ranney win three straight games against top ten teams in the Shore Conference.

 

Class A South

Casey Collins, Southern

The senior guard who is committed to Monmouth University for cross country averaged 16 points per game for the week. She scored 20 points and had 5 assists against Freehold Boro and followed that with 17 points in a victory against division rival Manchester. 

 

Class B Central

Erin Frauenheim, Point Beach

The 5’10 senior averaged a double-double for the week including a 23 point 10 rebound game against Manalapan. 

 

Class B Coastal

Princess Graves, Keansburg

Graves is the back-to-back B Coastal Player of the Week, averaging a double-double for the week. She put up 18 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in a division win against Raritan. 

 

Class B North

Gaby Parker, Freehold Township

Parker, a senior guard, averaged 25 points per game this week including tying a career-high 27 points in a win against Manalapan.  

 

Class B South

Zemirah Enalls, Barnegat

Enalls, a senior playing in her first season, has been a double-double machine this season for Barnegat and last week for no different. In three games last week she averaged 17 points and 18 rebounds. In a division rivalry game against Brick, she scored 21 points and grabbed 23 rebounds. Enalls followed that with 14 points and 20 rebounds against Jackson Memorial. 

 

Wildcard

Shea Donnelly, Manasquan

The Colby commit set two career-highs last week for Manasquan. In a division win over Neptune, Donnelly knocked down seven 3-pointers and scored 33 points in the win. She also had the tough assignment on the defensive end of the floor, covering Neptune’s leading scorer. 

Sayuri Penaranda, Freehold Boro

The senior guard averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds a game last week, including scoring 20 points and grabbing 12 rebounds against division rival Monmouth. 

Kylee Beam, Howell

The sophomore forward averaged 17 points and 9 rebounds a game last week. She scored a season-high 24 points against Freehold Township and she put her second double-double up for the week against No.2 St. Rose. Beam finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds against the Roses. 

Brooke Shea, Raritan

The junior guard averaged 17 points and 9 rebounds a game last week. She scored a season-high 15 points and had5 steals in a win against Matawan. Shea followed that with 12 points and 7 rebounds against Manalapan.
