Week 4 SSI Football Podcast to Feature Southern and Raritan

The SSI Football Podcast is set for Week 4, with two first-year head coaches and their senior quarterbacks set to join the show as their teams prepare for pivotal first-place divisional matchups.
Shore Sports Insider’s Dan Yeserski and Dave Smith will host the podcast live from Meadow 28 on Monday night. Southern head coach Matt Abbato and his son, senior quarterback Carson Abbato, will join the show at 5:30 p.m., followed by Raritan head coach Chris Damian and senior quarterback Parker Needham at 6:30 p.m.
Southern enters Week 4 with a perfect 4-0 record and is tied with Donovan Catholic atop Class A South with a 2-0 record in the division. Carson Abbato has brought a different dimension to the Rams’ offense, throwing for 740 yards and seven touchdowns without an interception this season. Southern remained unbeaten with a 21-14 victory over Point Boro this past weekend.

Raritan enters Week 4 at 3-1 and is tied with Marlboro for first place in Class C North. Needham has provided balance at quarterback, passing for 339 yards and three touchdowns while adding 257 yards and three scores on the ground. The Rockets are coming off a 20-15 victory over Red Bank.
The podcast will look back at both teams’ starts to the season before turning the focus toward a pair of critical Week 4 matchups. Southern will take on Donovan Catholic with first place in Class A South on the line, while Raritan will face Marlboro in a battle for the top spot in Class C North. A victory would give Southern or Raritan sole possession of first place in its respective division.
