Shore Conference Tournament

Quarterfinals

1-Rumson-Fair Haven 15, 8-Holmdel 6

Junior attackman Luke Lydon posted four goals and one assist and freshman attackman Teddy Whitehouse delivered three goals and two assists as the Bulldogs (11-8) started fast and put away the Hornets (7-8) t0 return to the SCT semifinals.

Rumson led 6-1 after the first quarter and 7-2 at halftime before breaking the game open with seven straight goals in the third quarter. Junior midfielder Joseph Whitehouse recorded a hat trick, while senior midfielder Grayson Goldin and sophomore attackman Arthur Bowen each scored twice. Freshman midfielder Liam Haggerty had a goal and an assist and freshman goalie Daniel Jaroschak made six saves.

Junior attackman Finn Buchan had a hat trick and senior FOGO Jack Powers won 20 of 25 face-offs to lead Holmdel. Freshman midfielder Anthony Serini scored twice, sophomore attackman David Perrotti scored once, and junior goalie Jack Tiller made seven saves.

Rumson will host fourth-seeded Shore Regional in the semifinals on Saturday at noon.

 

 

2-Manasquan 14, 7-Red Bank 6

Senior attackman Brandon Kunz scored 3 goals and tallied 3 assists and senior goalie Pat Loxley saved 8 shots as the Warriors (13-2) topped the Bucs (7-8) to advance to the semifinals. Seniors Kai Donahue and Matt Schneider both scored 2 goals and distributed an assist. Junior Lucas Longo and sophomore Kieran Schneider both scored 2 goals. Senior Ryan Aldi, junior Jack O’Reilly, and sophomore Dax Klein each added a goal. Senior defender Parker Harms tallied an assist. The Warriors will host CBA on Saturday in the semifinals.

Junior attackman Gabe Pape scored 3 goals and tallied 2 assists in the loss for the Bucs. Junior Nathan Pelensky scored 2 goals. Junior Ryan Deverin added 1 goal.

 

 

3-CBA 10, 6-Wall 3

Senior attackman Carter McGuire scored four goals and junior goalie Shayne Boresen made 12 saves as the defending SCT champion Colts (11-8) cooled off the Crimson Knights (7-10) to snap a three-game skid and return to the conference semifinals.

Wall had won four straight games entering the SCT quarterfinals. Freshman midfielder Danny Varone tallied two goals and two assists and sophomore midfielder Christian Fox scored twice for CBA, which led 4-1 at halftime and 7-2 heading to the fourth quarter. Senior midfielder Hunter Kilpatrick and freshman midfielder Chase Grimando added a goal and an assist each and junior attackman Caden Lucich. Freshman Nick Mangelli won 10 of 17 face-offs.

CBA also received a major lift with the return of standout senior defenseman Luke Krebs, who contributed two assists to the scoresheet. Krebs, a Bryant signee, had missed the previous 13 games with an injury.

Junior midfielder Patrick Freud scored twice, senior attackman Jackson Lemongelli scored once, and senior goalie Braeden Buckley made seven saves for Wal.

CBA will face second-seeded Manasquan in the semifinals on Saturday.

 

 

4-Shore 17, 5-Toms River East 4

Senior midfielder Lukas Villa scored a career-high six goals and senior FOGO Brendan O’Brien won 23 of 24 face-offs to lead the Blue Devils (11-3) to an emphatic win over the Raiders (11-3) that put them into the SCT semifinals for the first time since 2019.

Villa added an assist for a game-high seven points, while senior midfielder Tucker Malfa and junior midfielder Jack Madalone recorded a hat trick and two assists each. Senior attackman Braden Miller and junior attackman Reid Spallone each scored once and dished out three assists. Junior midfielder John Mazzacco had two goals and one assist and junior Henry Azzolini scored once. Sophomore goalie Joey Longo finished with seven saves.

Shore led 6-1 after the first quarter and 13-1 at halftime. O’Brien dominated the face-off X to such an extent that Toms River East’s first offensive possession came with Shore already leading 4-0.

Junior attackman Nicholas Caruso scored twice to lead Toms River East. Senior midfielder Nate Cummings and sophomore attackman Gerard Uzzolino each scored once and sophomore goalie Ryan Caruso made 10 saves.

Shore will face top-seeded Rumson-Fair Haven on Saturday at noon.

Point Boro 10, Sayreville 9

Sophomore Matt Prendeville registered four goals and two assists and senior Jason Piemonte notched a hat trick to lead the Panthers (9-8) to a narrow victory over the Bomberrs (10-5).

Senior midfielder Andrew Michigan scored twice, senior Braden Pratt scored his first varsity goal, and junior Nick Prendeville distributed a career-high three assists. Junior goalie Jack Watson made eight saves and sophomore midfielder Blake Engelken went 11-for-20 on face-offs.
