Matawan Snaps 7-Game Losing Streak to Raritan With First Win in Their Rivalry Game Since 2014

In the first edition of their longtime rivalry in three years, Matawan dominated the first half on its way to a 37-14 win over visiting Raritan on Friday night for its second straight win.

The Huskies (4-2) doubled their win total from last year by zooming to a 37-0 lead on their way to snapping a seven-game losing streak to the Rockets (2-3) with their first win over them since 2014.

They posted their highest point total of the season behind sophomore quarterback BlairCarter Gagneron, who went 9-for-15 for 186 yards and a touchdown and also ran for 30 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Sophomore wideout Cayson Williams caught two passes for 95 yards and a score, and senior wide receiver Welman Crooms caught four passes for 58 yards and ran for a touchdown.

Senior running back Erik Martinez added 61 yards rushing and a touchdown on 10 carries.
