Week 9 OIB Ortho Team of the Week: New Egypt Boys Basketball
Shore Sports Insider is proud to partner with OIB Ortho this winter to present our weekly OIB Ortho Boys Basketball Team of the Week Award, recognizing standout Shore Conference programs for their accomplishments on the court.

The Week 9 recipient of the 2026 OIB Ortho Boys Team of the Week is New Egypt after a week in which the Warriors went 3-0 and went on a Cinderella run as a 14 seed to win the South Jersey Group 1 Sectional Championship. The sectional title was the first in program history for the Warriors.
New Egypt defeated Penns Grove 47-38 in the quarterfinals behind a 20-point performance from senior Nolan Arnold and a 16-point performance from senior Clyde Ferris.
The Warriors edged past Palmyra 58-56 in an overtime thriller in the semifinals. Senior Ryan Reynolds poured in a game-high 22 points. Ferris added 17 points while Arnold finished with 11 points.
In the sectional final, New Egypt stunned top-seeded Salem 48-46 in another overtime thriller. Arnold led the way with a game-high 19 points and seven rebounds. Ferris added 18 points.
New Egypt advanced to the Group 1 State Semifinals where they will play Thrive Charter on Wednesday, March 11th at 5 p.m. at Monroe High School.
