Freshman pitcher Leah Garby hit a walk-off two-run home run to center field in the bottom of the 7th inning as the Braves (1-0, 1-0) defeated the Purple Roses (1-1, 0-1) for their first win of the season. Garby went 2-for-4 at the plate including the home run, a double, and three RBI’s in addition to striking out six batters and allowing just two earned runs on the mound. Junior CF Elissa Lieberman went 1-for-3 with a single and two RBI’s.

Freshman SS Morgan McGee was 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBI’s in the loss. McGee’s two-run home run in the top of the 7th inning tied the game.
