St. Rose 8, Shore 1
St. Rose (3-1) scored three runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to break a 0-0 tie and went on to win this first division game of the season. Senior Emily Torresdal struck out 15 batters in the victory. She also went 2-for-4 with two RBIs at the plate. Senior Gianna Decina and freshman Emma Andretta both had three hits and a run scored for the Roses.
Freedom
Central 17, Pinelands 13
Leading 5-3 after the 2nd inning, Central (2-1) scored 9 runs in the top of the 3rd to take control of the game and hang on to win their first division game of the season. Senior Jaelynn Witte went 2-for-4 with a homerun and two RBIs and Kayla Rasmussen had a triple and drove in three runs to lead Central. Senior Annarose Torres collected three hits and drove in four runs for the Golden Eagles.
Trailing 14-3, Pinelands (1-1) pulled to withing four but could not get any closer. Junior Kendall Falduto went 2-for-4 with a homerun and two RBIs for the Wildcats.
No. 2 Donovan Catholic 9, Jackson 0
Isabella Cino hit her second homerun in her second game to lead Donovan Catholic (2-0) to their second win of the season. Cino, who is committed to Maryland, finished with two hits and three RBIs for the Griffins. Sophomore Julianna Vignets went 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Junior Gylian Hixenbaugh struck out five batters to earn her first shutout of the season.
Point Boro 8, No. 9 Southern 7
Junior Arden Schatzman went 1-for-2 with two walks, a double, and two RBI’s as the Panthers (1-1, 1-1) edged the Rams (1-2, 1-1). Freshman Alexandra Spera was 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBI’s. Freshman Mackenzie Ferwerda finished 1-for-2 with a walk, a triple, and an RBI.
Independence
Point Beach 14, Brick Memorial 4 (5 innings)
Point Beach (2-2) scored 10 runs in the first three innings to jump all over Brick Memorial (0-2) and win their second game of the year. Junior Gia Gates struck out seven batters to earn the victory. Sophomore Olivia D’Erasmo and freshman Faith Schilk both drove in four runs for Point Beach. Senior Bridget Kane went 2-for-3 with a double and for runs scored for the Gulls.
Junior Carly Hobbs hit a homerun and scored two runs and Avery Nalducci went 3-for-3 with a run scored for the Mustangs.
Toms River East 15, Toms River South 2 (5 innings)
Trailing 1-0 entering the 4th inning, Toms River East (1-1) scored eight runs in the 4th inning and added seven more in the 5th inning to win their first game of the season. Senior Cameron Carr went 2-for3 with two RBIs and Kelly Forrester had a double and two runs scored and two RBIs to lead the Raiders. Brianna Delima struck out five batters to earn the victory for East.
Junior Aubrey Coulson doubled in a run for Toms River South (1-1).
No. 8 Barnegat 12, New Egypt 0
Barnegat (3-0) won their third straight game behind another dominant pitching performance by Gianna Gomez. Gomez struck out 13 batters in the shutout victory. Freshman Mikaila Wickham went 2-for-3 and connected on her first career homerun while driving in four runs for the Bengals. Junior Tristian Zalewski went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Gianna Skwirut added two more RBIs.
Liberty
Lacey 4, Manchester 3
After giving up a 3-1 lead in the top of the 7th inning, Lacey (1-2) got a walk-off hit from Olivia Tramantano to score Kylie Crane to earn their first win of the season. Freshman Savannah Wilkins went 3-for-3 with a double and RBI for the Lions. Bella Byk struck out five batters and drove in a run to earn her first win of the season.
Manchester (2-2) scored two runs in the top of the 7th to tie the game. Gabriella Minneci went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and struck out six batters on the mound for the Hawks.

Keansburg 16, Neptune 1 (4 innings)
Keansburg’s (2-0) bats exploded for 16 runs and scored in all four innings . Freshman Taylor Diaz, who hit her first career homerun in her first game, went 2-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs for the Titans. Junior Shaughnessy Bodnar also had two hits and drove in four runs and scored three runs for Keansburg. Senior Lillian Boccio struck out eight batters to earn her second win of the season.
