Sophomore 1B Lexie Csontos went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and five RBI’s, as the Lancers (29-0) raced past the Griffins (27-3). Senior pitcher Madison McDougall recorded 12 strikeouts and allowed four hits and three HBP in the win. McDougall batted 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, a walk, and three runs. Sophomore catcher Olivia Lombardi was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run. Junior CF Mia Favato finished 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, and a run. Senior SS Gabby Gonzalez went 1-for-3 with two walks and two runs.
Junior Mia Kelliher hit a sacrifice fly for the lone RBI in the loss. Senior CF Isabella Maria hit a double. Junior Isabella Cino scored a run.
St. John Vianney will play Mount St. Dominic in the state championship next week on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Ivy Hill Park.
Donovan Catholic graduates a deep senior class including Madison Kelliher, Caroline Kopp, Riley O’Shea, Isabella Maria, Amelia Wescott, and Jaelynn Nunez.
