Manasquan Girls Basketball Named Week 10 OIB Ortho Team of the Week | Shore Sports Insider

Week 10 OIB Ortho Team of the Week: Manasquan Girls Basketball

Shore Sports Insider is proud to partner with OIB Ortho this winter to present our weekly OIB Ortho Girls Basketball Team of the Week Award, recognizing standout Shore Conference programs for their accomplishments on the court.

We are also thrilled to welcome Joe Leone’s Italian Specialties as a co-sponsor, providing a generous $250 gift card each week to celebrate the winning team.

The Week 10 recipient of the 2026 OIB Ortho Girls Team of the Week is Manasquan following a week in which the Warriors defeated Cinnaminson and then Caldwell to walk away with their third consecutive state championship and 12th overall in program history.

It is becoming a yearly tradition for the Manasquan girls basketball team to enter March and win the Central Jersey Group 2 sectional title, go on to win the Group 2 title, and finish the season as the last Team of the Week for girls basketball in the Shore Conference.

The Warriors had two completely different games last week on their way to winning their 12th state title. In the Group 2 semifinal against Cinnaminson (30-2), Manasquan was taken to the limit. Tied 31-31 with 1:17 left to play, Jordyn Hollawell found Shannon Looney on a backdoor cut to put the Warriors up 33-31 and then got a defensive stop to seal a 36-33 victory at the foul line.

Hollawell finished the game with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists, including the game winner to Looney. Looney finished with 11 points.

After a hard-fought game in the semifinal, Manasquan left no doubt in the Group 2 championship against Caldwell (27-3). After a slow start in the opening minutes, the Warriors went on an 18-0 run that lasted the majority of the first quarter and the first 1:20 of the 2nd quarter to build a 20-5 lead.

Hollawell and Looney continued their magic, connecting on the first four baskets of the game for Manasquan. Looney matched a game-high 19 points with her teammate Calista Vowteras. Looney scored 15 points in the first half, with Vowteras scoring 11 of her 19 in the first half.

Hollawell came close to a triple-double, finishing with seven points, nine rebounds and 10 assists. Manasquan took advantage of Caldwell’s turnovers and the Warriors scored in transition.

Manasquan did a good job finding the open player whether it was on a fast break or in their half-court set. They had 21 assists in the game with Logan McCarthy tallying seven off the bench. McCarthy impacted the game on both ends of the floor with her defense and court vision.

While Shore Sports Insider has yet to unveil their postseason awards, the Warriors have already earned a significant amount of postseason recognition for their accomplishments. The Shore Conference Basketball Coaches Association selected Jordyn Hollawell to their First Team All-Shore team. They also named Manasquan head coach Lisa Kukoda their Coach of the Year. Both Shannon Looney and Calista Vowteras were named honorable mention All-Shore. Hollawell was also named a First Team All-Division selection in Class A North while Looney and Vowteras were both Second Team All-Division selections. While you wait for the Shore Sports Insider postseason awards, you can read all the Coaches Association selections here.
