Slam Dunk Autism Challenge

Middletown North 51, Toms River South 33

Leading by two at halftime, Middletown North pulled away in the second half to win their 10th game of the season. All seven players scored four or more points for the Lions with Laila Iasparro scoring a team-high 12 points and Kaelyn Gibson adding 8 points. Freshman Daniella Gordon scored a game-high 15 points for TRS.

No. 5 Red Bank Regional 63, Holmdel 42

Up 11 at halftime, RBR went on a 19-3 run in the third quarter to seal Coach John Truhan’s 450th career win. Junior Synai Blychanton scored a game-high 22 points and Caroline Polloway added 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds for the Bucs. Senior Mackenzie Teevan scored a team-high 12 points for Holmdel.

 

Class B Coastal

Keyport 38, Henry Hudson 32

Trailing 15-14 at halftime, Keyport outscored Henry Judson 15-4 in the third quarter to in their 3rd game of the season. Junior Skylar Breen scored a season-high 20 points and Jenna O’Brien added 11 points for Keyport. Junior Erin Mahoney scored a team-high 8 points for Henry Hudson.

 

Non-Divisional

Middletown South 42,  Freehold Township 40

Middletown South was able to hang on in the fourth quarter to win their 10th game of the season in a hard non-divisional game against Freehold Township. Senior Amanda MacGregor scored a team-high 13 points and Caitlin Whyte added 9 points for Middletown South. Senior Gaby Parker led Freehold Township with 14 points and had 5 steals.

Matawan 42, Pinelands 18

Matawan jumped out to a 13-2 lead in the first quarter on their way to their 5th win of the season. Senior Zaira Carballo knocked down three 3-pointers to lead Matawan with 11 points. Matawan had 10 different players score for them. Senior Hailey Barchetto scored a team-high 6 points for Pinelands.

No. 2 St. Rose 59, No. 8 Trinity Hall 34

St. Rose’s defense held Trinity Hall to just 9 points in the first half and led 33-9 at halftime to win their 12th game of the season. Junior Jada Lynch drained five 3-pointers in the first half and went 9-for-9 from the free-throw line and finished with a game-high 32 points for St. Rose. Senior Cassidy Kruesi hit three 3-pointers and finished with 12 points for the Purple Roses. Junior Whitney Hobson scored a team-high 12 points for Trinity Hall.

Manalapan 48, Ocean 30

Manalapan jumped out to a 23-4 lead in the first quarter to win their 7th game of the season. Sophomore Brianna Libretti scored a career-high, which she set the previous game against Long Branch, with 27 points. Freshman Emma Burke scored a team-high 16 points for Ocean.

No. 9 Rumson-Fair Haven 49, Neptune 43

Rumson outscored Neptune 12-8 in the fourth quarter to closeout the game and win their 7th game of the season. Rumson led 26-18 at halftime and responded to Neptune’s 17-11 third quarter to hold off the Friars. Junior Erin Reid scored a team-high 16 points and Grace Smith added 9 points for the Bulldogs. Senior Bre Evans scored a game-high 19 points for Neptune and Christa Ramos added 15 points.

Point Beach 43, Monmouth 24

Leading by seven points after three quarters, Point Beach outscored Monmouth 12-0 in the fourth quarter to close out the game to win their 11th game of the season and 7th in a row. Junior Elliana Loffreno scored a career-high 14 points to lead Point Beach and Erin Frauenheim added 11 points.

Marlboro 39, Central 34

Marlboro broke a 17-17 tie at halftime, outscoring Central 15-7 in the third quarter to win their 6th game of the season. Freshman Mackenzie Klatsky scored a team-high 14 points and Nariah Henderson added 9 points for Marlboro. Junior Emma Christensen scored a game-high 15 points and Vita Kelyman added 10 points for Central.

 

Non-Conference

Gloucester Catholic 40,  No. 4 Manasquan 38

Gloucester Catholic outscored Manasquan 15-11 in the final quarter to win a back and forth game and end the Warrior’s eight game win streak. Junior Jordyn Hollawell scored a team-high 16 points for Manasquan and Olivia Shaughnessy added 6 points. Jahzara Green scored 16 points to lead Gloucester Catholic.

Blair 62, No. 7 Ranney 53

Leading by one point after a back and forth first half, Blair outscored Ranney 34-26 in the second half to win the non-conference battle. Senior Haley Poser scored a game-high 26 points and Michelle Steele added 13 points for Ranney. Priyanka Ponnam scored a team-high 18 points for Blair.

No. 1 St. John Vianney 68, . Frances (MD) 55

The Lady Lancers got off to a fast start, scoring 29 points in the first quarter and building a 29-13 lead. Junior Madison Kocis scored a team-high 23 points and had 7 assists for SJV. Junior Charlotte Bradley drained three 3-points and scored a career-high 14 points and Stella Lockhart added 11 points for SJV.
