2024 Shore Conference Girls Soccer Preview: Returning All-Shore Players

With the 2024 Shore Conference girls soccer season a week out from opening day, Shore Sports Insider will begin to preview the upcoming season. To begin our girls soccer coverage we have compiled a list of the returning players who were chosen by the coaches association as All-Shore selections in 2023.

FIRST TEAM ALL-SHORE

Aubrey Scoble, Sr., Midfield, Rumson-Fair Haven

Scoble wasted no time making herself comfortable after transferring from Trinity Hall. She led the team with 12 goals and tied for the lead with six assists. One of Scoble’s best performances came against Wall when she scored the equalizer in the final minute and then the game-winner with six seconds left in double overtime.

Bea Tinoco, Jr., Forward, Middletown South

Tinoco has made an impact since stepping foot on the field as a freshman, scoring 21 goals in her first season and following that with 18 goals last season to help lead the Eagles to the Central Jersey Group 3 final. The Rutgers commit needs 24 goals over the next two seasons to set the program record for career goals. Tinoco uses a combination of speed, strength and ball skills to cause problems for defenders.

Baleigh Johnson, Jr., Forward, Point Beach

Johnson has enjoyed a great start to her high school career, scoring 18 goals as a freshman and 21 goals as a sophomore. Last season she also had 10 assists to help Point Beach reach the NJSIAA Group 1 final for the second straight season. In the Central Jersey Group 2 sectional final, Johnson scored tallied two goals and one assist, including the game-winning strike in overtime.

SECOND TEAM ALL-SHORE

Brooke DeAlmeida, Sr., Midfield, Brick Memorial

DeAlmeida has been a key piece of the Mustang’s midfield the last two seasons, operating mostly as a holding midfielder. Last season, the Monmouth University commit finished with seven goals and six assists and played an integral role in helping Brick Memorial claim the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 3 sectional title. The Mustangs will look for Almeida to have more of a scoring role this season compared to last year with the graduation of three of their leading scorers.

Erin Farrell, Sr., Forward, Wall

Farrell led Wall in scoring with 14 goals as a junior, an increase of nine goals from her sophomore season. The Scranton commit will look to improve on those numbers with the majority of Wall’s offense returning. Farrell has a combination of strength and ball control that makes her difficult to defend.

Jenna Eichenbaum, Jr., Forward, Shore

Eichenbaum led Shore Regional as a freshman with eight goals and finished second last season with 12 goals and nine assists. With the graduation of Amelia and Ava Agresti, Eichenbaum will be looking to take more of a leadership role for the Blue Devils as a junior.

Natalie McGovern, Sr., Forward, Lacey

After posting double-digit goals in her first two seasons at Lacey, McGovern scored a career-high 18 goals as a junior while adding 13 assists. The Monmouth University commit put up 49 points to give her 113 in her career. With Lacey bringing back the majority of its offensive group, look for McGovern to end her career with a bang and improve on those numbers.

THIRD TEAM ALL-SHORE

Ava Bjorndahl, Sr., Goalkeeper, Point Boro

Bjorndahl has been a fixture between the goalposts for Point Boro since her freshman year. Last season, she posted nine shutouts to help the Panthers win the Class B South title. Point Boro will face a stronger schedule moving to Class A South this season, but with the Monmouth University commit in goal they should be able to stay in the mix for another division title.

Emily Venezia, Jr., Goalkeeper, Trinity Hall

Venezia posted 12 shutouts for the Monarchs to help them reach their first South Jersey Non-Public A Final. Unfortunately, an injury will keep her off the field for the 2024 season, but expect her to return for a big senior year.

Emma Christensen, Jr., Defender, Central

Christensen has been an anchor for Central’s defense across her first two seasons and has helped turn them into one of the best teams in the Shore Conference. Last year, Christensen helped the Golden Eagles post eight shutouts and win their first-ever sectional title.

Carly Helmstetter, Sr., Defender, Toms River South

Helmstetter has been an important part of the Toms River South program since her freshman season. Committed to McDaniel College, Helmstetter will be leading the backline for the Indians as they try to win their second Class A South title in three seasons.

Ryan Raynor, Jr., Midfield, Trinity Hall

Raynor played a big role for Trinity Hall as a sophomore, leading the team with eight assists and helping the Monarchs make reach their first South Jersey Non-Public A sectional final. With a strong core of the team returning, look for Raynor to make a bigger impact in the Shore Conference.

Gaby Parker, Sr., Forward, Freehold Township

Parker has posted three straight seasons with at least 15 goals for the Patriots. The Bucknell commit finished with a career-high 17 goals and added eight assists last season. With Freehold Township graduating many of its key players over the last two seasons, Parker will be taking over in a leadership role this fall.

Gabby Kirchner, Sr., Forward, Point Beach

Kirchner has been the playmaker for the Garnet Gulls since stepping on the field as a freshman. She had her third straight season with double-digit goals, finishing with 18 along with 12 assists to tie for the team lead. Her ability to get her teammates involved is one of the reasons Point Beach will be the favorites to win their straight Central Jersey Group 1 title.

Delaney Spalthoff, Sr., Forward, Jackson Liberty

Spalthoff has led the Lions in scoring in consecutive seasons, including 17 as a junior last fall. She currently sits at 37 career goals and needs 16 to become the Lions’ all-time leading goal scorer. Also a track standout, she uses her speed to put pressure on opposing defenses.

Madison Miller, Jr., Forward, Wall

Miller put together a breakout sophomore season with 11 goals to help the Crimson Knights reach the Group 2 state final. Most of her goals came in the first half of the season as she battled injuries down the stretch. Now healthy and ready to go, look for Miller to build upon her stellar 2023 season.
