Shore’s season came to an end with a hard-fought loss to Point Boro in the state playoffs. The Blue Devils experienced an up-and-down campaign but proved capable of competing with some of the Shore Conference’s top teams, earning notable victories over No. 5 Middletown South, No. 7 Barnegat, No. 10 Central, and several other playoff-caliber opponents. Their schedule was among the area’s most challenging, featuring multiple matchups against ranked teams, including three contests against No. 8 Point Boro as well as games against No. 1 Rumson-Fair Haven, No. 2 Trinity Hall, No. 3 Red Bank, No. 4 Southern, and No. 6 Manasquan.
Despite the early postseason exit, the future remains bright for Shore. The Blue Devils graduate just two seniors in attacker Mackenzie Rogers and defender Aubrey McGrade, who finished the season with 40 caused turnovers and 34 ground balls. A strong core returns next season, led by rising senior midfielders Marielle Montenegro (64 points) and Ava Matthews (57 points), along with rising junior midfielder Scarlett Watson (50 points). With much of its production returning, Shore appears well-positioned to take a step forward in 2027.
