Week 8 OIB Ortho Team of the Week: Toms River South Girls Basketball

The Week 8 recipient of the 2026 OIB Ortho Girls Team of the Week is Toms River South following a week in which the Indians went 3-0 defeating Marlboro, the Class B Central champion, as well as Barnegat and Timber Creek in the first round of the South Jersey Group 3 playoffs.
Junior guard Linsey Cribbin recorded a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Indians to a commanding 59-31 win over Marlboro. Sophomore Daniella Gordon added 13 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Cribbin continued her hot streak in a 79-52 win against Barnegat as she scored a career-high 37 points and pulled down six rebounds. Sophomore Haley Johnson stepped up with a career-high 17 points of her own. Sophomore Kylee Ford added 12 points.
In the final game of the week, Cribbin poured in a game-high 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds as she passed the 1,000-point scoring milestone for her career in a 60-51 win over Timber Creek in the first round of the state playoffs. Gordon registered a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Ford added 12 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
While Toms River South wound up being eliminated by second-seeded Moorestown in the South Jersey Group 3 quarterfinals, the future is extremely bright for a young Indians team that finished the season with a 19-8 record which included an outright Class B South division title. Toms River South will lose two seniors to graduation in Kelsey Weatherstone and Jessica Wycoff, but the Indians will return their leading scorer in Cribbin, their leading rebounder in Gordon, and a host of other young talent.
