Week 9 Playoff Edition SSI Football Podcast to feature Brick and Freehold Township
The Week 9 edition of the SSI Football Podcast will feature two Shore Conference teams preparing for the state playoffs, as Brick and Freehold Township join Monday night’s live show at Meadow 28 in Farmingdale.
Shore Sports Insider’s Dan Yeserski and Dave Smith will welcome Brick head coach Jay Graber and senior quarterback Rowan Foy at 6 p.m., followed by Freehold Township head coach Cory Davies and senior quarterback Dakota Lasater at 6:30 p.m.
Brick is headed to the postseason for the first time in seven years after closing the regular season with a 21-3 victory over Lacey to finish 5-4. The Green Dragons earned the No. 5 seed in Central Jersey Group 3 and will travel to fourth-seeded Burlington Township in the opening round.
Freehold Township enters the playoffs riding the momentum of one of the Shore Conference’s biggest upsets of the season. The Patriots erased a 22-0 deficit to stun previously unbeaten Middletown North, 43-42, and secured the No. 5 seed in Central Jersey Group 5. They will open the postseason on the road against fourth-seeded Williamstown.
Yeserski and Smith will discuss both teams’ journeys to the postseason, the players who helped lead them there, and the challenges awaiting them in their first-round matchups.
The hosts will also recap the biggest storylines from Week 8, examine the latest Shore Sports Insider Top 12 rankings with Scott Stump, and take an in-depth look at the state playoff brackets alongside Stump and special guest Alec Crouthamel of Central Jersey Sports Radio and On3.com.
