2025-2026 Shore Sports Insider Girls Basketball Week 4 Top 10

 

1. Red Bank Catholic (12-1) Last Week: 1 – The Caseys finished another undefeated week, continuing their dominance in the Shore Conference. RBC started the week by defeating Class A North foe Rumson-Fair Haven 72-35 behind 26 points senior forward Addy Nyemchek. The Caseys won another Class A North contest, defeating Red Bank 65-27 behind 19 points each from Nyemchek and senior guard Katie Liggio. RBC ended their week by beating St Joseph’s by the Sea from New York 64-29, with Katie Liggio again scoring 19 points. The Caseys have three games this week against No. 3 Manasquan, No. 2 St. John Vianney, and Lenape with a chance to create even more separation on the rest of the Shore Conference.

2. St. John Vianney (11-2) Last Week: 2 – The Lancers went 3-1 on the week, earning three wins over teams currently ranked in the top 10. SJV started their week with a 56-32 win over Trinity Hall. Senior center Taylor Sofilkanich led the Lancers with 15 points. The Lancers then defeated Class A North foe Manasquan 71-45 behind 14 point from Sofilkanich. SJV beat St Rose 59-22, with Sofilkanich leading the way once again with 15 points. The lone loss for SJV was at the HoopHall Classic Showcase in Springfield, Massachusetts to Ontario Christian (CA), the top-ranked team in the country, 78-70. SJV has four road games this week: at Gloucester Catholic; at Red Bank; at No. 1 RBC; and Bishop Eustace. A win over Red Bank Catholic could potentially re-open the door for the top spot in the rankings.

3. Manasquan (12-1) Last Week: 3 – The Warriors remain at third this week after going 1-1. Manasquan lost their first game of the season, going down to SJV 71-45. The Warriors were led by senior guard Shannon Looney’s 11 points. Manasquan rebounded to defeat Rumson-Fair Haven 53-41 behind a career high 23 points from senior guard Jordyn Hollowell. Manasquan has two pivotal Class A North contests to start the week: at No. 1 RBC; and at No. 10 St Rose. The Warriors will then step out of conference to take on Moorestown at home.

4. Rumson-Fair Haven (11-3) Last Week: 5- Rumson-Fair Haven went 2-2 for the week, moving up one spot in the Top 10. The Bulldogs started the week off with a 48-34 win over Middletown South, led by 21 points and 14 boards from senior forward Erin Reid. RFH lost the next two contests, both to Class A North opponents. The Bulldogs lost to top-ranked RBC 72-35 but received a 20-point contribution from Reid. RFH then lost a close battle with third-ranked Manasquan 53-41. Reid again led the Bulldogs with 18 points. The Bulldogs rebounded to defeat Brick 67-43 behind 18 from Reid. RFH has three contests this week as they look to hold ground in the fourth spot: No. 10 St Rose; Red Bank; and at No. 5 Neptune.

5. Neptune (8-0) Last Week: 8 – The Scarlet Fliers remaine unbeaten, going 3-0, and moving up to the fifth spot in the Top 10. Neptune started their week with a 52-40 win over Freehold Twp. Junior Lana Ellington continued a hot streak, leading Neptune with 16 points. Neptune defeated Marlboro 64-39 behind 18 points from Ellington. The Scarlet Fliers ended their week with a 54-29 win over Ocean. Ellington again led Neptune with a career-high 23 points. Neptune has another opportunity to climb at least one spot with three games this week: at Middletown North; at Middletown South; and No. 4 Rumson-Fair Haven.

6. Trinity Hall (10-3) Last Week: 4 – The Monarchs went 1-2 for the week, dropping two spots in the Top 10. Trinity Hall dropped their first game of the week 56-30 to SJV.  Trinity Hall was led by Bucknell commit Grace Feeney’s 11 points. The Monarchs recovered from the loss to defeat Wall 56-25 behind 15 from Emory commit Whitney Hobson. Trinity Hall ended their week with a loss to division foe Howell 42-31. Bridget Rigney led the Monarchs with 10 points. The Monarchs have three games this week as they look to regain their footing: No. 8 Colts Neck; Holmdel; and Chatham.

7. Toms River East (8-3) Last Week: 9 – The Raiders move up two spots on the strength of their five-game winning streak and 3-0 week. TRE defeated Manchester 50-34 behind 21 points from junior Kacey Briles. The Raiders defeated division foe Point Boro 45-39, getting a game-high 21 points from junior Libby Dickman. Toms River East ended their week with a 59-33 win over cross-town rival Toms River North behind 14 points from junior Kylie Paladino. TRE will be favored in three games against unranked teams this week: at Barnegat; Southern; and at Middletown South.

8. Colts Neck (10-3) Last Week: 7 – The Cougars dropped to eight, going 2-1 in their three games. Colts Neck started the week with a 46-24 win over Holmdel. Sophomores Juliana Jasina and Allison McAndrew led the Cougars with 14 points apiece. The Cougars took down Wall 38-12 behind 15 points from McAndrew. Colts Neck suffered their only loss of the week, going down to St Rose 46-32. McAndrew once again led the Cougars with 14 points. Colts Neck has three road games this week: at No. 6 Trinity Hall; at Ranney; and at Freehold Twp.

9. Howell (9-3) Last Week: 10 The Rebels went 2-0 for the week and move up one spot in the Top 10.  Howell defeated Ranney 62-38 behind a season-high 28 points from junior Kylee Beam. Howell ended their week with a big win, upsetting No. 6 Trinity Hall 42-31. Beam again led the Rebels with 14 points. Howell has three games coming up this week: Holmdel; at Wall; and at Eastern.

10. St. Rose (3-8) Last Week: Unranked – The Purple Roses worked their way back into the Top 10 by going 2-1 for the week. St Rose defeated Red Bank 57-48 to start the week. Freshman Peyton Clark led St Rose with 15 points. The Purple Roses then lost to SJV 59-22.  Mercyhurst commit Brooke Missry led St Rose with 12 points. St Rose rebounded from that loss to SJV and beat Colts Neck 46-32 behind 11 points each from Missry and Callie Decker. St. Rose has an argument to be ranked higher than Colts Neck after beating them, but the Purple Roses lost to Trinity Hall who lost to Howell who lost to Colts Neck creating a four-team circle of wins and losses. The Purple Roses have three games this week: at No. 4 RFH; No. 3 Manasquan; and Franklin in the More than a Highlight Showcase.
