2025-2026 Shore Sports Insider Girls Basketball Week 9 Top 10
1. Red Bank Catholic (26-2) Last Week: 2- The Caseys took back the top spot on the strength of winning their eighth SCT championship in program history. On Tuesday night at Brookdale, RBC defeated Rumson-Fair Haven 56-29 in the semifinals. Senior Addy Nyemchek led the way for the Caseys with 18 points in the semifinal win. On Friday night at Monmouth University, RBC defeated St. John Vianney 53-49 in a classic. Senior Tessa Liggio scored a career-high 21 points in the win. The Caseys now own a 2-1 record over SJV this season, with a possible fourth matchup coming in the South Jersey Non-Public A final. RBC has earned the top seed and a bye in the first round and will play the winner of 8-seed Union Catholic and 9-seed Princeton Day in the quarterfinals.

2. St. John Vianney (23-3) Last Week: 1- The Lancers drop one spot this week after losing a hotly contested SCT championship. SJV started their week by defeating Manasquan 46-41 in the Shre Conference Tournament semifinals. Senior Madison Kocis led the way with 12 points. Sophomore Gianna Sano hit the go-ahead three-pointer late in the fourth quarter and sealed the game with two free throws. SJV lost the final of the SCT to Red Bank Catholic 53-49. Senior Stella Lockhart led the way for the Lancers with 17 points and 10 rebounds. SJV earned the 2-seed in the South Jersey Non-Public A bracket and will play 15-seed Donovan Catholic on Thursday.

3. Manasquan (20-5) Last Week: 3 – Manasquan dropped a heartbreaker to St. John Vianney in the Shore Conference Tournament semifinals, losing 46-41 after having a lead midway through the fourth quarter. Senior Jordyn Hollowell led Manasquan with 12 points in the loss. The Warriors defeated Toms River East in a warm-up game for the states, 67-43. Manasquan earned the top seed in Central Jersey Group 2 will take on 16-seed Ocean on Thursday to begin their quest for a third straight state title.

4. Rumson-Fair Haven (16-10) Last Week: 4 – Rumson-Fair Haven holds their ground despite an 0-2 week based off their overall resume. The Bulldogs lost in the Shore Conference semifinals to Red Bank Catholic 56-29. Senior Erin Reid had a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 boards. The Bulldogs then put together a lackluster performance in a 69-45 loss to Trinity Hall in a pick-up game to get ready for the state tournament. Despite the loss to Trinity Hall, the Bulldogs have two wins over Colts Neck and a win over Howell, both of whom finished above Trinity Hall in Class B North. Rumson-Fair Haven earned the 2-seed in Central Jersey Group 2 and will host 15-seed Wall on Thursday.

5. Colts Neck (19-6) Last Week: 5 – The Cougars took on a pair of out-of-conference opponents to get ready for the state tournament, defeating Pope John 59-32 before losing to Caldwell 53-37. The Class B North champions earned the top seed in Central Jersey Group 3 and will host 16-seed Northern Burlington on Friday.

6. Howell (21-5) Last Week: 6 – The Rebels won three pick-up games this week in preparation for the state tournament, defeating Manchester 46-40, Middletown South 46-29, and Jackson 56-39. Junior Kylee Beam became Howell’s all-time leading scorer during the week. Howell earned the 3-seed in South Jersey Group 4 and will host 14-seed Bridgeton on Thursday.

7. Trinity Hall (19-7) Last Week: 7 – Trinity Hall took on two opponents in preparation for the state tournament, defeating both Pingry, 37-33 and Rumson-Fair Haven 69-45. A combined three losses in four games against Howell and Colts Neck, teams Rumson-Fair Haven swept, prevent the Monarchs from moving up despite the impressive upset win. Trinity Hall earned the 5-seed in South Jersey Non-Public A will host 12-seed Our Lady of Mercy on Thursday.

8. Neptune (16-3) Last Week: 8 – Neptune played one game this week against Manchester in a pick-up game for the state tournament, defeating the Hawks 59-56. The Scarlet Fliers, the defending sectional champions, earned the 2-seed in Central Jersey Group 3 and will host on 15-seed Matawan on Friday.
9. Brick (17-8) Last Week: 10 – The Dragons who have won 12 of their last 13 games moved up a spot after a 3-0 week. Brick took on three teams as they prepared for the state tournament, defeating Donovan Catholic 53-22, Middletown North 67-46, and Brick Memorial 61-34. Brick earned the 5-seed in Central Jersey Group 3 and will host 12-seed Freehold Boro on Friday.

10. Toms River South (18-7) Last Week: Not Ranked – At this point in the rankings, there are a variety of teams that have a case for this spot. A solid run in the state tournament will ultimate determine who winds up here. The Indians currently get the nod as they make their season debut in the Top 10. Winners of the Class B South, Toms River South defeated two out-of-division opponents this week in their tune up for the state playoffs. The Indians defeated Class B Central champion Marlboro 59-31, led by junior Linsey Cribbin’s 22 points and 11 rebounds. Toms River South also defeated Barnegat 79-52, a game in which Cribbin exploded for a career-high 37 points. The Indians earned the 7-seed in Central Jersey Group 3 and will host 10-seed Timber Creek on Friday.
