(2) Marlboro 78, (7) Sayreville 68
Junior Dylan McEwan scored 16 of his 21 points in the second half after classmate Nolan Gong scored 16 of his 20 in the first half as all five Marlboro starters reached double-figure scoring in a quarterfinal win at home for the Mustangs (21-5) over the Bombers (17-11).
Gong also added three assists and six steals, while senior Ajay Mathews chipped in 13 points and eight assists for Marlboro, which will host the sectional semifinals Tuesday against No. 3 seed and two-time defending champion Montgomery.
Senior Christian Elmasri pitched in 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals while leading the defensive effort against Sayreville senior guard Sam Jones, who scored 18 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter. Senior Drew Lubeck contributed 10 points and six rebounds while dealing with Bombers senior forward Chidi Chukiarah, who scored 17 of Sayreville’s first 22 points on the way to 26 for the game.
Marlboro led, 63-40, with six minutes to go before Sayreville chopped its deficit to 70-64 with 1:25 left. Two missed free throws gave Sayreville a chance to get even closer but Jones missed his next attempt and Gong hit two free throws with a minute left to push the lead back to 72-64. Beginning with Gong’s free throws, Marlboro shot 8-for-10 from the free-throw line and turned the ball over just one time in its final nine possessions to close out the win.

Aaron Feath scored a game-high 24 points and six different Hillsborough players contributed to 10 three-pointers as the top-seeded Raiders (21-7) protected their home floor in a win over the Patriots (15-11). Hillsborough will host No. 5 Jackson in Tuesday’s sectional semifinals.
Junior Sam Hawksby led four Freehold Township scorers in double-figures with 14 points, while classmate Dakota Lasater added 12 and fellow juniors Cole Gerigk and John O’Neill each threw in 11 in the loss. Patriots senior and leading scorer Jake Schultzel scored five points while dealing with foul trouble, which led to him fouling out along with Gerigk.
(5) Jackson 63, (4) East Brunswick 58
Senior George Boley scored a game-high 25 points while grabbing five rebounds and handing out three assists and the Jaguars (18-6) held on to knock off the Bears (21-7) on the road to earn a trip to play top-seeded Hillsborough Tuesday in the sectional semifinals.
Boley scored nine points in the first quarter to jumpstart a 18-9 lead for Jackson through one quarter, which the Jaguars grew to 36-22 at halftime. Senior Yaseer Johnson scored eight of his 13 points in the first half to go with three assists and classmate Jimmy Pappalardo added nine of his 13 in the fourth quarter, including two three-pointers that stemmed the tide of an East Brunswick second-half rally.
Senior Matt Mikulka scored 17 points to lead East Brunswick, which cut Jackson’s lead to 56-55 on a three-pointer by Tristan Harvey with two minutes to go. Sophomore Mi’Aire Anderson then hit 1-of-2 free throws and Pappalardo and Boley each added two from the line to push the lead to 61-55 with 21 seconds left. Anderson finished with eight points and eight rebounds for Jackson.
Central Jersey Group II
(3) Ocean 52, (6) A.L. Johnson 48
Senior Aidan Saint Louis poured in a game-high 27 points and the Spartans (19-9) battled past the Crusaders (18-8) to earn a sectional semifinal home game Tuesday against No. 7 Rumson-Fair Haven.
Sophomore Brody Bell added nine points and junior Justice Hodges netted eight for Ocean, which will play in the sectional semifinals for the first time since 2008, when the Spartans fell to Neptune one game short of the Central Group III championship game.
(7) Rumson-Fair Haven 59, (2) Metuchen 27
Senior Luke Cruz scored a game-high 18 points and the Bulldogs (18-8) blew the game wide open with a 21-3 third quarter that buried Metuchen (24-5) secured them a sectional semifinal trip to No. 3 Ocean on Tuesday.
Junior Casey Moore added 11 points and freshman Clint Martin threw in 10 for Rumson, which already had a 34-16 lead at halftime and stretched it to 55-19 through three quarters. Senior Blake Ahmann also pitched in nine points in the win.
(5) Manasquan 54, (4) Delaware Valley 34
Junior Logan Cleveland scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and the Warriors (15-9) dominated the Terriers (20-9) in their first state playoff road game since the 2023 Central Group II championship game at South River.
Manasquan moves on to Tuesday’s sectional semifinal on Tuesday in pursuit of its seventh consecutive sectional championship. The Warriors will either host No. 8 Holmdel or travel to top-seeded Wall, with those two teams slated to clash on Sunday in Wall.
Sophomore Sean Bilodeau poured in 13 points, sophomore Luke Winn added eight off the bench and senior Jack O’Reilly hauled in 13 rebounds to go with his four points for Manasquan.
South Jersey Group IV
(4) Atlantic City 61, (5) Howell 55
Don’Taye Thompson scored a game-high 33 points and the Vikings (20-9) rallied from a five-point deficit to open the fourth quarter, snatching a win from the Rebels (20-7) and earning a shot at top-seeded Cherry Hill East in Tuesday’s sectional quarterfinal round.
Sophomore Noah Musto scored 15 points to lead Howell, which entered the fourth quarter leading, 43-38. Senior Cayden Parker and senior Jack Quinn each added 10 points for the Rebels and Parker fouled out early in the fourth quarter with Howell still leading, 43-42. Junior Jayson Parker also fouled out once Atlantic City took a 50-46 lead.
