Week 10 OIB Ortho Team of the Week: Rumson-Fair Haven Boys Basketball
Shore Sports Insider is proud to partner with OIB Ortho this winter to present our weekly OIB Ortho Boys Basketball Team of the Week Award, recognizing standout Shore Conference programs for their accomplishments on the court.

The Week 10 recipient of the 2026 OIB Ortho Boys Team of the Week is Rumson-Fair Haven after a week that saw the Bulldogs defeat Middle Township to advance to their first state championship game in program history.
Senior forward Luke Cruz registered a double-double with 23 points and 15 points as the Bulldogs buried Middle Township, 71-55. Senior guard Luke Lydon was hot from the outside scoring 17 points which included five three-pointers. Junior guard Casey Moore added nine points. Freshman guard Clint Martin finished with eight points.
The Bulldogs would ultimately fall short to Ramsey in the state championship, but this team will forever be known as the first Bulldogs’ team to break through and make it to Rutgers University. Along the way, they exorcised their demons and defeated Manasquan to capture the program’s fifth sectional championship. Rumson-Fair Haven wound up finishing ranked second in the final Shore Sports Insider Top 10 rankings.
Three Bulldogs have already been honored with postseason accolades by the Shore Conference Coaches Association. The coaches selected Luke Cruz as the 2026 Shore Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-Shore selection. Both Blake Ahmann and Luke Lydon were Second Team All-Division selections in Class A North. On Monday, Shore Sports Insider visited practice to present Rumson-Fair Haven head coach George Sourlis and the team with a commemorative game ball and a $250 Joe Leone’s Italian Specialties Gift Card, courtesy of our partners at Joe Leone’s, for a well-earned team meal.
