The Shore Sports Insider Girls Basketball Player of the Year proved to be one of the best players in the country after leading Red Bank Catholic to a dream season that included the Non-Public A State Championship, the Shore Conference Tournament title, and the number one ranking in all of New Jersey. Nyemchek averaged a team-leading 19.8 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 3.0 SPG, and 1.4 BPG and finished second on the team with 3.8 APG against one of the most difficult schedules in the country. An unselfish player by nature, Nyemchek took over in the Casey’s biggest moments when called upon including the state championship game against Morris Catholic when she finished with 22 points and nine rebounds. She passed the 1,000-point scoring milestone as a junior and wound up finishing with a school-record 1,781 career points. Nyemchek will suit up in the McDonald’s All-American Game on March 31st at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. She signed with Indiana University and will play for head coach Teri Moren next year.

The lone returning starter from a year ago, Hollawell took her game to an entirely different level her senior season and led Manasquan to their third consecutive Group 2 State Championship. The senior led the Warriors in four major statistical categories with 14.1 PPG, 5.6 RPG, a Shore Conference-leading 4.7 APG, and 2.7 SPG. Hollawell flirted with a triple-double on several occasions including a 13-point, 11-rebound, and seven-assist performance against Cinnaminson in the state semifinals and a seven-point, nine-rebound, and 10-assist performance in the state finals. Hollawell signed with American University in the Patriot League and will play for head coach Kelly Killion.
Madison Kocis, Senior, St. John Vianney

Kocis has steadily improved since earning time on the court for the Lancers as a freshman. Her best game of the season came against Red Bank Catholic when she scored a game-high 27 points as the Lancers handed the Caseys their only in-state loss of the season. She surpassed the 1,000-point scoring mark this season and finished her career with 1,293 points. Kocis signed to play at the University of Pennsylvania next year for head coach Mike McLaughlin in the Ivy League.

An elite outside shooter, Liggio was the second-leading scorer on the state’s top team. Liggio scored 11.2 PPG and converted on 59-three pointers. She commanded a significant amount of attention on the perimeter and helped space the court for her teammates to operate. Liggio’s best game came against Piscataway when she finished with a game-high 27 points and matched her career-high of six three-pointers which was originally set as a sophomore in the Non-Public A State Championship win over Pope John in 2024. Liggio finished her career with 1,050 points. She tore her ACL in the South Jersey Non-Public A Final against St. John Vianney, but suited up in the final game where she was inserted into the game in the final 30 seconds. Liggio signed to play at the University of Rhode Island for head coach Tammi Reiss.

One of the most dominant front-court players in the Shore Conference, Lockhart was a strong contributor in every category for the Lancers. She finished third on the team in scoring with 11.1 PPG, first in rebounding with 6.0 RPG, and was a highly-underrated passer with 2.1 APG. Lockhart was also an outside shooting threat with 25 total three-pointers. One of her best performances came against the nation’s top-ranked team in Ontario Christian (CA), in a game that she finished with 22 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. She also nearly willed St. John Vianney back from a large deficit in the Shore Conference Tournament final against Red Bank Catholic with 17 points and 12 rebounds. She led the Rebels with team-high averages of 17.4 PPG and 7.6 RPG. Beam had several standout performances including a 23-point and 12-rebound double-double against Egg Harbor in the sectional semifinal. Beam already has 1,187 points in her career and will be one of the top returning players in the Shore Conference next season. The junior is currently uncommitted but is widely regarded as a Division 1 prospect.
Ava Coyle, Senior, Shore

Coyle was one of the top all-around guards in the Shore Conference this past season averaging 15.8 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 2.2 APG, and 3.3 SPG. The senior was a bright spot in several of Shore’s losses to top teams. She notched a 19-point and 11-rebound double-double against Neptune, finished with 15 points against Rumson-Fair Haven, and scored more than half her team’s points with 17 points against St. John Vianney. Coyle finished her career with 1,208 points. She is committed to play at Gettysburg next year for head coach Nate Davis.
Tessa Liggio, Senior, Red Bank Catholic

Liggio controlled the tempo and was the top distributor on the best team in the state. She scored 6.3 ppg and finished second in assist average in the Shore Conference with 4.5 APG. In most games, the Caseys did not need her to operate as a scorer but during the few times that they did, she delivered. Look no further than the Shore Conference Tournament final when Liggio knocked down four three-pointers and finished with a game-high 21 points against St. John Vianney. Also a fundamentally sound defender, Liggio came away with 2.2 SPG. Liggio signed with Bucknell and will play for head coach Trevor Woodruff in the Patriot League.
Allison McAndrew, Sophomore, Colts Neck

The most impactful transfer in the Shore Conference, McAndrew went from a little-used role player at Trinity Hall to the biggest weapon on a sectional champion Colts Neck team. McAndrew led the Cougars in scoring with 14.1 PPG and rebounding with 7.4 RPG. She exploded in the middle of the season against Ranney with a 27-point and 15-rebound performance and was clutch in the Central Jersey Group 3 final with 17 points and eight rebounds against Red Bank. McAndrew is beginning to catch the attention of college coaches and will be the top weapon on what should be one of the Shore Conference’s top teams over the next two seasons.
Taylor Sofilkanich, Senior, St. John Vianney

Sofilkanich came up big in the two biggest games of the season for St. John Vianney. She registered a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds against Paul VI in the sectional semifinals before posting another double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds against Red Bank Catholic in the final game of the season. The rising junior is expected to attract a lot of attention from college coaches this off-season.
All-Shore Third Team
Brooklynn Bell, Senior, Lacey

There was not one team on Lacey’s schedule that could shut down Bell. A paragon of consistency, Bell finished with double-digit scoring in all 27 of Lacey’s games, the only All-Shore player to do so in every game on the schedule. The forward was relentless attacking the basket on her way to a 19.1 PPG scoring average which was good for the third-highest average in the Shore Conference. Bell also averaged 8.5 RPG and 3.8 BPG. She earned All-Tournament honors at the Kevin Williams Christmas Classic after averaging 23 PPG and 9 RPG over three games. Her best game came against Manalapan when she scored 33 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Bell committed to The College of New Jersey where she will play for head coach Chessie Jackson.
Grace Feeney, Senior, Trinity Hall

The focal point of the Monarchs the last two seasons, Feeney was a consistent double-double threat. Feeney finished with five double-doubles and averaged 14.6 PPG and 7.6 APG. Far from just an inside threat, she converted on 48 three-pointers this year. Her top performance came against eventual Group 4 champion Lenape when she scored 27 points, pulled down 10 rebounds, and dished out six assists in a 64-62 win. Feeney scored 1,190 points during her career and will play for head coach Trevor Woodruff at Bucknell alongside Red Bank Catholic’s Katie Liggio.
Isabella Finer, Senior, Jackson

Finer recorded four double-doubles including a 13-point and 10-rebound performance against Hunterdon Central in a sectional quarterfinal upset victory. Flanzbaum averaged 17.7 PPG, 3.8 APG, and 3 SPG. She narrowly missed a triple-double with 16 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds against Monmouth and scored 28 points to go along with seven steals, six rebounds, and six assists against Raritan. Mackenzie Klatsky, Sophomore, Marlboro

The sophomore scored 16.7 PPG for the Class B Central champion Mustangs. Klatsky knocked down a career-high eight three-pointers in a loss to Red Bank. She had a complete performance in a state playoff loss against East Brunswick when she recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. She already has 818 career points and projects to pass the 1,000-point scoring mark early into her junior season. The sharpshooter will be on a lot of college coaches radars as she continues to grow as a complete player.
Sophie Smith, Senior, Red Bank Catholic

An integral piece to Red Bank Catholic’s state championship team, Smith became exponentially better as her career progressed. The forward was one of the top interior defenders in the Shore Conference and was a versatile player that did all the dirty work including boxing out, setting screens, and locking up the opposing team’s best interior player.. Smith averaged 6.2 PPG and 4.3 RPG but her true value did not show up on the stat sheet. In the biggest games, she made winning plays including a 17-point performance against Paul VI where she knocked down three treys and the state championship win over Morris Catholic where she created separation for the Caseys with three third quarter three-pointers. Smith signed with Harvard University where she will play for head coach Carrie Moore.
