OIB Ortho/Joe Leone’s Week 5 Shore Conference Football Team of the Week: Middletown North
Shore Sports Insider OIB Ortho/Joe Leone’s Team of the Week – Week 5
Shore Sports Insider is proud to partner with OIB Ortho this fall to present our weekly OIB Ortho Football Team of the Week Award, recognizing one Shore Conference program for its accomplishments on the field. We are also thrilled to welcome Joe Leone’s as a co-sponsor, providing a very generous $500 Pasta Party Gift Card each week to celebrate the winning team.
The Week 5 recipient of the 2026 OIB Ortho/Joe Leone’s Football Team of the Week is Middletown North who had another impressive performance, taking care of business against St. John Vianney behind a balanced attack that produced big plays both on the ground and through the air.
Senior running back Matt Belenko powered the rushing attack with two touchdowns, finding the end zone from six and 55 yards out. Junior quarterback Derek Grasso provided the fireworks through the air, throwing a pair of long touchdown passes. Grasso connected with senior wide receiver Danny Sigler for a 60-yard score and found junior Anthony Christiani for a 35-yard touchdown.
With Belenko delivering on the ground and Grasso stretching the field through the air, the Lions continued their unbeaten start to the season and improved to a perfect 5-0.
Shore Sports Insider stopped by practice to present the Shore Team with a commemorative game ball and the $500 pasta party gift card.
Congratulations to Middletown North, the Week 5 OIB Ortho/Joe Leone’s Football Team of the Week!
